  • Try 'N' B, an alternate name of band The Real Milli Vanilli. After The Real Milli Vanilli hadn't managed to resurrect the success of Milli Vanilli, Frank Farian had yet another idea. He remixed several tracks from their second album "The Moment of Truth", keeping the voices of Ray, Gina, Linda and Jodie but mixed out Brad and John. He then hired Tracy Ganser, who looked a lot like Gina, and Kevin Weatherspoon, who looked remarkably similar to Fab, and had them record some vocals as well. The "new" group was named Try 'n' B, with Ray, Gina, Tracy and Kevin on the cover, and their album was released in America, to little success. A different version of the album, which replaced many songs taken from "The Moment of Truth" with other songs that had been intended for but cut from that album, was released in Europe, once again to little success.
With the total collapse of Milli Vanilli November 1990, producer Frank Farian tried to rescue the completed but as of yet unreleased second album by forming The Real Milli Vanilli. Consisting of the 45-year-old real lead singer Brad Howell and the real rapper John Davis, Farian had two younger, good-looking singers Ray Horton & Gina Mohammed do additional vocals on the new tracks and added them to the line-up that fronted the album that was finally released as The Moment of Truth, May 1991. The gimmick about presenting the "real" Milli Vanilli couldn't rescue the album from flopping - the scandal about the whole Milli Vanilli scam was too immense.
Farian, however, kept faith in the two new singers, Ray Horton & Gina Mohammed, and added Kevin Weatherspoon and rapper M.C. Tracy to the line-up and christened the new formation Try'n B. Their first single was a remake of the 1980 Dr. Hook hit, "Sexy Eyes", which gave them a modest German hit. It also became the title track of the following album which featured three re-makes off the ill-fated Real Milli Vanilli album, including the Diane Warren-penned "Tell Me Where It Hurts". A different selection of tracks were released on the American album which featured no less than 8 Real Milli Vanilli re-works out of the 10 tracks included (The Real Milli Vanilli album was never released in the US). After a third single release in 1993, "Ding Dong", Try'n B ceased to be. #millivanilli #johndavis #Musictymemachine ‪@musictymemachine‬
