It's worth pointing out at the timt there was a belief in top level open wheel ravers that it was bettter to be thrown from a car instead of trapped in it due to fire. or that, that, I'll just point to Jo Schlesser and to a non fiery example, Jackie Stewart in 1966 for why drivers were afraid of being trapped
Maybe they Tripps and Clark touched, I still don't know how this happened. Seen as many video's of this but it's incomplete. Both times an "American" won the F1 championship, there team mate died. Thanks for your video, we may never understand.
Italy hasn't got the best record. Von Trips, De Tornaco, Castellotti, Cabianca, Rindt, Peterson, Ratzenburger, Senna (both in one race weekend). Italy has claimed 8 racers, for some context, Germany has claimed 6 and that's a nation infamous for the Nürburgring. Only Britain has more deaths with 9 shared across 4 tracks, Italy shares deaths between 3. This means the UK has 2.25 deaths per circuit and Italy has 2.67 per circuit.
sadly, neither world champion from the united states was able to celebrate their win they work their entire lives for that moment, and yet it is filled with nothing but sadness
=THANKS FOR DETAILS, HEHE.........SO YOUNG BUT ALREADY VON TRIPS, HEHEHEHE ..........DAAAAAAAMN IT'S SO UPSETTING THAT ONLY 1 RECORD OF SO CRAPPY QUALITY IS BEEN LEFT, THO......BUT.....KIND OF.......BETTER SOMETHING THAN NOTHING AT ALL, ISNT THAT......HEHE
Jim Clark was as good as they come. His reputation speaks for itself!
