Join us for a realtime update of our lockdown on a boat situation in South Africa on board Jupiter2... we explore the pending decisions regarding our cruising plans. Can we sail to Brazil? if not Caribbean? Dangers of staying put in Capetown. Provisioning for the worst.
What would you do if faced with this decision... If things got dangerous here in Capetown would you put to sea and hope that somewhere else would take you in? These are crazy times!
Leave for the sake of your safety no questions asked, plus you being the Captain aren't you responsible for the safety of your vessel, crew and yourself !

Hey guys...great video. Love the suspense ;) It IS getting cold man! We just installed a wood stove as you may or may not know, so if you smell smoke...it’s us warming up! Our little electric heater is almost not enough anymore...good to know we can get one at the pharmacy! Isn’t staying warm essential??!?
And yeah...if you hear an alarm that lasts more than 10 seconds...it’s us! I hope the lockdown doesn’t get continued! And I hope as we all depart we can go to Namibia and St Helena on the way to Brazil! -Rebecca on SV Brick House

Life on Jupiter We still want to do a haulout before we go to..have a leak...so no...we are ready to cast off and beg our way in to Cape Town proper if things get unsafe here in Hout Bay. But I think if we all keep a low profile and stay inside the marina as much as possible, and the Covid-19 lockdown ends and life goes back to normal...if lockdown continues, it may get a little ugly. Hopefully not as bad as you are thinking. Fingers crossed.-Rebecca on SV Brick House
hi guys, great update on our current situation. Our South African government does have a feeding program people can apply to. They will get food parcels delivered if they earn under a certain amount. Not sure how well it will be managed. Unfortunately, there are just so many people, not everyone in the area is a SA national and we have a very interesting and complex social and economic landscape. Stay safe and if you do go, go well. We will catch up with you sometime, somewhere.
Thanks for watching guys... I hope we didn't offend any body with our lack of the facts. It's just we've been warned by a couple of the locals that Hout Bay has a history of being one of the first to come undone. So maybe a glimmer of light at the end of the April tunnel?... I hope so.

Stay where you are as long as it is safe to do so. Movement best avoided for as long as possible unless an ultimate weather window presents or the native population turn seriously unfriendly. Stay safe and healthy.

It seems to depend on the cooking....You gotta add all the right ingredients to make it yummy.... a lot of work and preparation tho... but it is free!
Life on Jupiter that’s true! I still can’t stand the taste no matter what you do to it... lately I’ve been eating a lot more beef than I use too and now I find I don’t like the taste of chicken much anymore and same with lamb 😕 weird 😂
