7:21 You misspoke in saying that Payson was east. In reality, Payson is west-northwest of Young, while Greer is east, and more recognizably than the one you named to the south, they might recognize the town name of Globe. Thanks for showing the terrain and vegetation there, for introducing viewers to the area. Of course, heavy snowfall every winter IS very common on the Mogollon Rim, while lesser amounts of snow is common enough in Young. I normally don't put people-centric videos into my Arizona playlist as it's a video tour of much of the state, but footage of the village of Young, AZ. and the area is hard to come by, so I've included this into my large Arizona playlist to show the area around the town of Young. Thank you for posting. For information's sake, the Mogollon Rim at Forest Lakes has an elevation of 7,562', while the elevation of the town of Young is 5,184'.

You are absolutely right! My mistake. I am usually really good about that (directions). Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate you watching and sharing.

Don't panic it's probably a realtor from Young salivating at another sale lol

The Young Road trip from Mogollon Rim down into the valley is one of the best drives you can take in Arizona! We ate at Antlers and continued on our way.
There are some excellent campsites off and around Young road as well.

Picked up a nice little bottle of wine at that little store the last time we camped up that way.

Snow is fun! Only when you carry recovery gear. My son and I got stuck up in forest lakes. Two week old ice/snow 10-12” with stock all seasons bad combo. In the Subaru’s defense it was 12” and we were up to the frame and control arms so can’t blame the car, blame the driver. Luckily I had small recovery tracks and a shovel after about 20 minutes we were free.

Love how you mixed in Cameron's music, especially his rendition of Mac Demarco @ 9:00

Ya that’s a great song! He generally plays his own material but shares that one. Dig it.

People get in trouble up there all the time. One individual lost his life a month ago right about there. Don't expect someone to come rescue you up there. In the off season, you may not see someone up there for several days.

That wasn’t a Canyon. That was a butte located just south west of town. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the name.

Cool man, great area. I was there this summer. The Pleasant Valley War brought me there, looking for the locations. If you, or anybody else, has not read about that feud, i recommend it. It is great insight on what ranchers had to put up with, and shows the challenges of settling the West. It's also the most bloody feud in American history, that you never herd about.
Also, and i'm sure you know this, those excellent historical locations like the one you were at should never be made public. Relic hunters and just plain idiots will quicken it's erosion. Those of us that seek out things like that will find them, and anyone deserving of being there personally should have to put in the work.

I have a strict policy of not sharing directions and too much detail about sacred places. As with this location I didn’t disclose exact locations. One point to make on this locale though is that ASU, I’ve heard, already collected much of the artifacts, documented them and places them in an archive. I have other locations that are much more complete than this one that is never share.

I’ve read much about the war there and Cam actually has ‘seen things’ at night out in that area that would raise the hairs on your arms.

Actually a study done by university of WI looked at exercise by it self and meditation by it self, and either reduced flu chance by 30%! So boss I’m going with stress on the cold not the exercise. Regardless hope you got over fast. S

Yes sir, Tommy! Thanks for asking. I have been doing other things for several months. I will be back at it soon. I had to move, started a new job with a lot of responsibility, have taken a few trips to places like San Francisco, San Diego, etc. that I didn't bother filming. Now that the weather is a bit warmer I plan on some new trips coming up. Stay tuned. Cheers to you man!
