I generally agree but I have a friend who has modded his 228i to about 350hp. Might be the case on this one too. Your argument stays valid yet you still need power to "SEE THAT PORSCHE BEHIND US?"
Same, just in forza. I think because you can see so far ahead, especially since nurburger is a track where you often can't, because middle of forest and all, so you just pin it. Took me till like forza 3 to start actually braking for it lol
Yeah that could have ended really bad, if it was even slightly damp no way. It's the damn merc right at the front that caused all the following bmws to slow like that. Also this really makes one question braking distances laid out in the uk theory test. He literally went from around 80 mph to
Which is certainly why cars like the Civic Type R make sense from a performance standpoint. Raw speed doesn't make for the fastest track times (although it does make for fun acceleration).
that was driver based, if the drivers switched, the gt3 would be much more performing, or the gt3 driver didnt feel comfortable passing him and felt held up, but this was very impressive driving
A dear old friend of mind (ex race car driver) took me out for a spin on some empty country roads in my Celica Gen 7 140 a few years ago "to show me what the car could do". He was 65 years old at the time. Bog standard tyres, no suspension or brake mods. My eyes were literally popping out of my head at the astonishing speed at which he took the thing round corners. Quite incredible. The lesson from that experience for me is this: before you bother to spend HUGE sums of money on a mega performance car, learn to drive really, really, REALLY well first, otherwise you're literally wasting your own money (apart from obvious pose value). That 228 in the vid probably pushes out between 250 and 290 bhp. The guy in this vid keeps repeating that the Porsche is still behind him and that's a really good reminder that most drivers cannot seriously hustle their vehicle around a corner and that most cars with any decent performance capabilities are WAY beyond the abilities of their owners.
There was definitely a good amount of tire squeal here and there, but I'm pretty sure most professional drivers still get that a lot 'cause of how hard they take turns, lol. Dude was a freaking champ.
ryuman757 a lot of times in racing (i'm an amateur racing driver here in Canada), the drivers do something called 4 Wheel drifting or sliding. Which is when you take a turn and then squeeze the accelerator and have the car accelerate while also pushing outwards on the corner because of the tires going past the traction limit and excerting more centri-fugual force than centri-petal force. Which allows one to keep control of the car, accelerate and push the car to the edge of the track in preparation for the next corner. This is something that is only handy on the set of turns where it's applicable. But everytime you heard the tires squeal, the driver was using this strategy. Hope that helps explain the phenomenon a little.
shan_rocks Tyre squeal isn't the best cue to judge the limit of a tyre. The only way to know is through your inputs either using throttle or steering and feeling or viewing the increased or decreased yaw due to over or understeer to understand if the tyres are actually being used fully. I've noticed personally that eco tyres I run in my daily will start to make noise under the limit and I'm able to lean on them a little harder before I lose traction, however, while on semi slicks track tyres and slicks, they seem to make noise when past the limit and already under or oversteering to a considerable degree. Hope this helps.
