Thank you VERY MUCH, Nico. I'm doing my very first timelapse, and i'm chosing Tsuchinshan Comet as my 1st. And as usual, you are extremely helpful, precise and with an awesome vibe. I started astrophotography mostly by watching your videos.
Super helpful Nico. I have always wondered how to do that! Just purchased a Canon RP and a nice wide angle lens. Now just need some clear skies! Great video. Thanks Nico. Dr. B from Manitoba, Canada
Tried to create a time lapse of comet ZTF using 60 tiffs. Added the sequence of files and adjusted exposure, curves, image size, etc just like you did. Went to export/render the video but it did not give me any options for a video format (e.g., QuickTime or mp4). Just jpeg, png, etc. I noticed the workspace had 0 of 0 files as well. Not sure why this happened.
Hi Nico, another great tutorial. We all can increase our different PS and night photography skills here! One question - maybe I missed something (I checked it in your video several times?) - how can I render before an export? You saif you rendered the timeline to watch properly and I saw that it worked - how can I do this before I start the export? Many thanks and greetings from Germany, Pat
Hi Pat, Sorry for the confusion. It is not necessary to render before export. To render the timeline to watch it play back smoothly inside photoshop, simply click the play button and wait for it to render each frame. When it is complete it will start looping the timelapse at the desired speed. Hope that makes sense, Nico
Nico you are awesome, this is a game changer, I almost bought a program just to do time lapses and I already have a Photoshop, I'm subscribing to your Patreon after this video otherwise I feel like I'm stealing something 😅
Great tutorial. Was easy to follow and I created my first time lapse with Casseopeia and Andromeda which I was very happy with...it ended up only 4 secs but I loved it for my first try!

Hello Nico, just came across your videos. Wonderful works and teachings. Going to give it a try. Was wondering what do you do with your final pictures, are you able to do large prints? Looking forward to seeing your other videos. Thank You.
Thanks for this video. Could you do a video on shooting solar eclipses? Do i need a solar filter for a camera lens? Would i need to track the sun to produce a timelapse?
Leading up to the 2024 eclipse, I am planning a series of videos to get ready. Yes, a solar filter is very helpful. You don't need it for totality, but you want to be focused and centered on the sun before totality and you'll need the filter for the partial phase. I suggest Baader astrosolar film to make a safe filter cheaply.
Back in 2017, I used a combination of filtered shots (Thousand Oaks Optical) and unfiltered in the last minutes. Take a look. th-cam.com/video/3B7QawuK7cM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks again for a great tutorial. Can't wait to try this, this Summer. One question: To "render", all you have to do is press the play button? Or is there something else that I missed?
Yes, correct. And rendering is only necessary if you want smooth playback to preview the timelapse in Photoshop. You can also just skip straight to exporting the video if you don't need a preview first.
@@NebulaPhotos Hi Nico - Excellent video as usual - I am at the rendering stage prior to Export and was wondering if you happen to know how to tell when it is done rendering? I have looked and looked for any kind of indicator but can't seem to find one... Thank you for posting this extremely useful video...
@@GrayGhostRyders Hi, I believe it will just start playing on loop when it's rendered, but there is not indicator. Rendering the timeline is not necessary before export as it will re-render during the export process.
