      Great stuff. Every time you cut away just as a tree looms in the drone's lens I think "Oh, it wrecked for sure" to myself.

      Maybe it’s just me but it seemed like you edited the video every time the drone got near the trees which makes me wonder if the object avoidance is not as advertised yet, or perhaps you just got too far away for a good shot. I ordered the Skydio2 so I’m just wondering.

    Great job and perfect site selection too. Epic riding as always. . . One element I recommend you add, especially at places like Sedona, where the big picture is super awesome. Do a few big, 300+ foot, fly in/fly out shots, definitely one mid ride. Effectively giant zoom in/out’s, edited forward or reversed, ideally revealing not only the grandjour of your location but also the shear gnar of the lines your hitting by exposing a big view of the BIG vert you guys are hammering down! I’m going to guess you already figured this last suggestion out seeing your final clip. . . Alway lock the Skydio on the rider in front, with the unavoidable tracking lag your shot was still framed perfectly. Cheers man! I’m in Colorado and would love to do some dedicated drone follows with you sometime using hybrid auto drone and piloted footage if you’re interested? Add some dare is say, cinematic perspective.

  • @nathanmorse3726
    @nathanmorse3726 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes, please feel free to add more drone footage to your future videos. Enjoying the way we’re able to see more of the terrain while mixed with your follow cam shots. Great content your producing and the areas your riding deserves that wider perspective. Thank you!

  • @yukonpeteneff
    @yukonpeteneff 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dude ... that drone footage is amazing ... nice mix too. Totally changes everything ... really gives the idea of what the terrain is like that your riding. Hard to show the beauty of Sedona through a GoPro ... this does it amazingly well. I’ve ridden there years ago and it really brought me back there. Just amazing.

  • @lokmtb8503
    @lokmtb8503 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Hell yeah that was rad. I really love the perspective that a drone shot can give for the scenery, trail, drops etc. Stuff that you tend to loose with gopro footage. I really like the mix of drone footage and gopro footage, since the Skydio 2 doesn't always nail it with the angle that it's filming so it's nice to have multiple footage to produce a video with. My one hope is that they don't get over used in highly trafficked wilderness areas. Last thing I want to hear in Moab is a swarm of drones. I think drones are a nice treat. Kind of like cookies.... Like Cookie Monster says "a Cookie is a sometimes food."

    • @natehills9388
      @natehills9388  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      A good mix is best in my opinion as well. I am with you on the wilderness thing, super annoying out in the wild. Fortunately Sedona is a tourist petting zoo and is anything but remote. This tool has a time and a place and must be used responsibly.

  • @JonathanFennell
    @JonathanFennell 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    LOOKS FANTASTIC!!! Finally a drone that follows and changes elevation. In the past the follow mode on drones never followed the rider down elevation change which created ants on bikes the further down the trail you got.
    Your mix of drone and POV was great. The drone also shows the true steepness of certain parts of the trail when the GoPro effect takes over. Also shows the Real Size of the drops (which also gets lost via GoPro effect).
    I also really liked that you used the GoPro audio when you were showing the drone footage so that we could hear the sounds of the trail and the bike.
    Nice Work!!!

      @@natehills9388 good on you for acknowledging the other riders and the noise. I think it is an awesome addition to your channel and love the footage. I wouldn't mind hearing one drone fly with some shredders, but with this tech becoming more approachable/affordable everyday you can imagine if there was 10 flying around filming every weekend warrior, it would be pretty annoying.

      @@steviedingledangle7982 In Sedona, real helicopters carrying tourists buzz the trail every 20 minutes, so I fit right in... ha. It's all about the right time and place.

    Great video, mixing the gopro and drone video gives a new dimension to this ride.
