  • The power strip / Flex box / surge protector, used in this video limits to 6A 240 V MAX. Due to using iron box in this surge protector (which requires more than 6A current - Max 20 A for Iron box) the board inside the box blaster. Where it failed to withstand the capacity of iron box, so I recommend you all to use surge protectors according to their specification, otherwise you'll face a serious injures.
    In the above video I removed the board which contained burned out resistors and IC, and replaced with direct connection with additional fuse as protector.
    The above surge protector limits to only TV, computer, Laptop, Desktop, Mobile charging, Mosquito cartridges, etc equipment which falls under 6A 240V only.

    This is like 'repairing' a fridge by chucking out the compressor and using the fridge as a pantry!

    This is certainly not a video on how to restore a surge protector. It is a video on removing broken surge protection circuit and sticking the wires together with tape. I would certainly question the safety of using that again. I would not recommend doing this as a safe thing to do.

      @PavanKumarHB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris Woollard sir, exactly I agreed with you. But many cannot get it restored by electrician going to shop and also the cost of restoring from shop is much higher than the actual cost of the product. So, i made this video, instead of using electric insulation tape, I rounded with normal tape.

      Three light se, Red - green ON ke matlab- sab sahi hy. Hee Safe hy. Iss sy bina, koi Orr light on hui tho safe nahi hai.

    What is meant by Gnd. open, is there any problem if we use light indicated as Gnd. Open?

    • @PavanKumarHB
      @PavanKumarHB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gnd- means "ground". Gnd open means- ground is not connected/failed. It's dangerous to use without ground connection

    Can we connect directly without fuse?

    • @PavanKumarHB
      @PavanKumarHB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Krishna Kumar sir, yes we can connect without fuse.
      Fuse is just to make sure to cut off connection in case high voltage comes then fuse will blow to avoid any damages to appliances.

    • @PavanKumarHB
      @PavanKumarHB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you must use the appliances which are below 6 Amps for this kind of surge protectors. On every electronic appliances plugs/pins, there will be Amps mentioned.

  • @tdas777z
    @tdas777z 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You are showing to make a direct line without any surge/lightning protection. If someone follows your video and "repaired" similar surge protector and if there is a surge/lighting, that person might loose the connected equipment.

    • @PavanKumarHB
      @PavanKumarHB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tulsi, no equipment cannot be lost because it has fuse connection. If any high voltage comes then fuse will blow, protecting the equipment connected.

    • @tdas777z
      @tdas777z 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PavanKumarHB that might be just a thermal fuse; by the time it will react, the connected equipment will take the hit. If fuse only was enough to protect from surge/spike, then all manufacturers would have used fuse only. They wouldn't have install MOVs.

    sorry, this is bananas - there is no 'Surge Protector Repair' but rather a 'repurpose Surge Protector as power strip'!
    Also, your methodology here is fairly dodgy as you play with live lines, not to mention the use of a bandage scissors as your primarily wire cutting tool.. finally, the use of regular scotch tape as insulation tape is not recommended - please don't follow this methodology - it can be deadly!

    Bro that board got blasted!

    • @PavanKumarHB
      @PavanKumarHB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir. Because of overload/using electronics above 6 Amps like iron box, soldering, hair dryer, freezer. This box should be used only for tv, mobile charging, laptop, and any thing below 6 Amps.

    • @PavanKumarHB
      @PavanKumarHB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Diodes and resistors used are very low capacity on the board, they cannot withstand high electronic goods. So they blast.

      Cut the board and connect directly as shown in video. If you want to get board repaired then electric shop will charge more than cost of new box.
