Well, if it is for an adult audience and the violence makes sense, then no problem. But when the violence, and adult themes spills onto children movies, cartoons and shows, then I have a problem with that. The Terminator for example, was made for adults, and given it's story the R Rated violence made sense. All Terminator movies should have remained R-Rated, I don't like how they made the sequels kid friendly!
I like the original The Crow a lot, I've seen it many times since I first watched it in the theater in my early 20s but it's not a religion to me. I'm totally fine with a modern remake and re-style. Bill Skarsgaard is great and I'm looking forward to seeing this in theater - it may not seem as original to young audiences now as the first The Crow did to us back in the day, but it could still be a good time.
I'm staying firmly on the fence. But I think this deserves a chance. My only prob would be if it doesnt do something unique with the story. And I realize how bad that can go.
Now I've seen it and I thought it was pretty good. It did feel like something was missing though, something in Eric's back story, the house fire, the irresponsible parent, the dying horse, I think it could have been a bit clearer about his history and how his attitude toward his past landed him where he was, BUT overall I enjoyed the movie and felt like it would have been much better received had they changed the names of the lead characters.

City Of Angels (2) was severely cut and edited down, many fans, including myself, are still hoping for the original cut to be released. Salvation (3) isn't really that bad IMO. Not perfect but the premise is a cool scenario for a Crow story. It felt more like a TV movie and the acting was a bit off here and there but overall I liked it.

They are adapting from the comics and giving their own interpretation, nothing wrong with that and it takes nothing away from Lee’s movie. This scene looks cool. Huge fan of the original comic book/graphic novel and some of that aesthetic has crossed over into this version. This already looks better than the last film sequels, so that is great.
They don't have to. They just need to make it their own by the graphic novel instead of the one that Brandon Lee was. Just like Nolan made Batman his version.

The hardest part for me when it comes to this entire movie, even though Bill thankfully ended up being okay, is that feeling I had when I watched the original of "anything could've gone horribly wrong at any given moment." I mean, the original with Lee and the aftermath of it still to this day is hard to watch because we lost a true talent, and I kept thinking the same thing with Bill. It's a raw feeling, but a feeling one is so aware of in those moments.

For good reason. The original story was the author writing and processing the real life senseless murder of his best friend. It wasn't supposed to be cute or funny, it was supposed to be a revenge fantasy; where bad things happen to good people, but someone is capable of getting back at the bad guys.
The fact people are just driving by when there’s a man who’s brutally injured in the middle of the road and they don’t stop their car to ask if he’s okay or not.

@@johnradcliffe5775 I can too, I actually can rewatch City of Angels and Salvation, but, I have watched Wicked Prayer 1.5 times. I just can't do it, the .5th time I watched it, I rented it, thinking it can't be that bad, and I couldn't even finish.

Well I don't know about that because Brandon Lee the real Crow had plenty of humour and he was just perfect/phenomenal.
For good reason. The original story was the author writing and processing the real life senseless murder of his best friend. It wasn't supposed to be cute or funny, it was supposed to be a revenge fantasy; where bad things happen to good people, but someone is capable of getting back at the bad guys.
