Hello Lj Lou, that is very heartwarming to read and I so appreciate your support. I am so pleased to hear you are finding value in the videos and I definitely look forward to sharing more xx
It took me well over 2 hours to get through this video. I had to pause and study almost every room. This is SO my style. Here all along I’ve been thinking I was a bit of English & French Country mixed with Classical but all along I was Georgian - who knew??!!! Apparently my house is also Georgian as well, when I’ve always thought it was colonial but if you study it and breakdown the pieces, it’s squarely Georgian - I’m amazed…..because I’ve lived here 40 years and never once considered that my house was this style until I saw this video and all of a sudden it all clicked!!! NOW I have a direction - THANK YOU, thank you. This couldn’t have been timed any more perfectly since we’re currently smack in the middle of a 5 year, top to bottom, entire house renovation project. So far, I’ve somehow managed to pick out almost verbatim Georgian style furniture, drapery, colors, molding, flooring, lights, rugs, etc. without knowing what I was doing. All I knew was that it felt right and that it all looked good together in my eye. LOL We still have all the bedrooms to do plus the entire basement and this video has just given me a very clear path in order to finish this property - I’m thrilled!! Again, thanks a million. ❤
Hi Joyce, that is fantastic to hear that the video helped clarify your design style and sounds like you were doing a lot of these things intuitively as well which shows you have a great eye for design! All the best with your styling journey and I am sure your Georgian home looks beautiful xx
Thanks but I will say that interior design is really about enormous patience!!! Been struggling for weeks with wainscoting in the foyer, staircase, hallways and powder room and I think the carpenter is going to kill me! He’s probably got another 2, maybe 3 weeks before he’s done - who knew it was such a massive thing to get authentically correct. I had no idea something that looked simple (to me) really wasn’t at all and took a master woodworker to do it right…..SO many layers & cuts!!!! You should see my poor back patio, it looks like a demolition site where the carpenter has set up shop in order to create the detailed moldings throughout the house, it’s a mess and I’ve stopped cleaning every 5 minutes because the dust is winning!!! LOL I’m afraid to tell him I now want a board and batten wall in the bedroom…..he hasn’t even started the walk-in master closet yet - the man is going to be a tax deduction this year because he basically lives here now!!!! lol.
Georgian style is a favorite for me. Liked, subbed and rang that bell! Two of the pictures you included have been in my stash file for years. Timeless elegance. Thanks for posting!

Your explanation of the periods and styles took me back to college and the study of architecture in periods of time. I’m very much drawn to past periods and try to educate myself and how I can incorporate the past with the present. In a time where everything seems to be disposable and cheaply made I find myself cringing at what’s offered for sale. I go through antique stores and thrift stores and see so many things been cast aside from a time that is lost to the newer generation. They don’t even know what they have here. From furniture to table settings like china and porcelain. Things that I know cost hundreds of dollars now we’re selling for a dollar apiece it blows my mind. Crystal vases candles sticks vases etc. just thrown to the side like they’re trash it breaks my heart. These things are literally being sold for pennies. This younger generation especially here in America that I know of could care less they wanna buy something they can sit on for a couple years and then throw it inOnly to go out and start it over again they are so fickle. Love your channel! Thanks for the explanation.
Hi bwiseok, thank you so much for sharing. There is definitely a unique and timeless beauty in items with history, story and that have been passed through the generations. I also aim to achieve a synergy between newer sustainable pieces and items with age, patina and history. What I love most is that so much craftsmanship went into these pieces! Thank you xx

How I wish I had access to this when we bought our first home in 1984 ( it was a center-hall Georgian built in 1874 ). Unfortunately, the dusty rose and emerald greens of the '80's were very much in vogue at the time. I also added many Sanderson floral fabrics for that popular "Laura Ashley" look back then. Ugh! I shudder to think of my design choices as a naive newly wed. If only I had that home now - I would do a complete, elegant transformation using monotones and your wonderful tips above. Very much enjoy your content - wish each episode were longer! xoxo from Canada
I never owned a Georgian home but probably would’ve done the same thing and decorating in the 80s. I do remember when Laura Ashley was so popular and the Burgundies and Green were the colors and style. For the time you were spot on. Yes if you only on the Georgian house now how magnificent it would be. But I’m sure that the house that you live in as magnificent as well lol.
