Demitri is my favorite of the Darkstalkers cast because not only is the Midnight Bliss hilarious but that fact that you can hear Link in his voice clips especially when he says "Come on Baby" its honesty scary that is the same as Link, and that's why I love it
Fun fact: Lilith, originally, was going to be an Angel, hence why her moves are "Shining Blade", "Soul Flash" and "Luminous Illusion". Also, they toyed with the idea of making her a futa.
this was a really enjoyable stream, so much fun watching so much material. I wouldn't mind another yap stream checking all the silly frames they did for the characters, like how Qbee has an electrified frame where you can see a smaller Qbee controlling the bigger Qbee body

Never thought I’d see one of your videos, but the moment I saw Darkstalkers it was an instant click. I love this series despite only getting into it this year. Sad it’s stuck in a relaunch purgatory, but you can play the original games in the Capcom fighting collection at least. Personal favorites go to Felicia, Lilith, Anakaris, and Victor Von Gerdenheim
What’s sad is that those are the only characters most non darkstalker players are most likely to know about unless they’ve played project x zone or MVCI
They essentially said: "If this collection sell we'll revive the IP" It's was a bunch of old games with unlockables so they sold nothing and it's still dead

@@BrassMountainLion the creators of the collection said that enough copies didn't justify that any new release, it must've did good in sales as its part of the capcom fighting collection series, additionally in thorgis arcade talking about the mvc collection he mentions that the ace attorney games always get collections but doesn't mean we are getting a new game, darkstalkers resurrection was in 2013 during capcom's "dark ages" so hopefully that sheds light on the subject.
The lore for Dimitri's "Midnight Bliss" is that he turns his targets into a more desirable form for him to consume their blood. This does not always mean "sexy" however, as an example with Morrigan (his rival), he turns her into a cartoonish chibi version of herself, or with Ru's transformation here (3:32) being a reference to a girl he runs into in one of the Street Fighter animes (I believe, I don't know exactly where its from, but it was in animated form. It could be a cutscene for all I know)
I loved this, sharp and insightful art analysis, but funny, fast, and irreverant. :D Subscribing. (BB Hood was my main, I had fun with the mix of cute and sadistic. XD)

I would LOVE to see Lily review Skullgirls designs now (
I lob squigly
@rimanahbvee hell yeah Squigly's cool! Honestly all of the character designs Slap
Thank you so much for this video. As a lifelong Darkstalkers fan, favorite thing I've watched in a long time.
My favorite thing was to plant Donovan's sword on the floor and leave it there. The sword has plenty of animations and is quite sassy xD
I'd still love to see you go through at least some of the characters in arknights. The biggest issue is that they're almost all just unmoving jpgs. But their designs are actual peak.
@@TheScreamingIdiot I’m with you on wanting to see lily review arknights designs. And she has some familiarity with it.
But for ease of reviewing it I would imagine she would have to break down the roster. Maybe into first 6 stars, then 5 stars and so on.
Kinkymation? That name sounds familiar.
_Looks her up_
Ohh, so that's why. Nice😎
(I didn't thought that you would be so cultured. Also, I love your cats♥)
The character designs of Darkstalkers absolutely were top notch...
ah, yes, morrigan, literally the better mary jane
the fact that she feeds in joy rather than just seggs makes her so wholesome while also being erotic
This was so much fun! Thank you!
Ain't really Capcom who declared the series dead, but the fans. For how much everyone loves to say they want a new Darkstalkers, they never sell. Capcom keeps putting up bundles to gauge interest and it never works. The Capcom Fighting Collection was literally over half with Darkstalkers games and that didn't do much.
1:15 The gimmick is that this is all the classic Universal horror movie monsters and then some being slapped on the Street Fighter frame.
49:51 Her sister turns into the talisman.
54:23 One of her win poses is singing karaoke and another is a businessman who hired her shows up, gives her the money for completing her job and she starts couning it, smoking a cigar.
BB Hood is such a cool character, I love her, one of the best ever (not only Darkstalkers, but all Capcom)
Really great to hear your thoughts. There are technically too more hidden mirror match characters who aren't on the website: marionette and Shadow. Also, Anita, the little girl with Donovan has an older version in some arcade endings
21:14 Well, there's always option 3: He was so buff that when he was alive that this is just how he looks when dehydrated
I can’t stop staring at the spinning lily. It’s mesmerizing
Man, I miss Darkstalkers. Nice to see someone giving the characters a look (I'm personally Demitri guy), and I hope this somehow shows Capcom that they're sitting on a gold mine
26:13 objection, he has a wife and a son who he made with that wife
52:47 This pose made me realize, B. B. Hood is probably the closest I can have to playing as Junko Enoshima in a fighting game.
These characters deserve a new game! A kick-ass game! Or at least as guests in a new kick-ass game.
26:21 Well, he is curiously attractive for a Fishman ...😏
Sadly, I only knew of Morrigan and Felicia. Who I always found my favorites of the series.
What’s sad is that those are the only characters most non darkstalker players are most likely to know about unless they’ve played project x zone or MVCI
Excellent choices.
I think they made collections for Darkstalkers a few times, but they didn't sell well. Usually that's the Capcom test for making a new title.
They essentially said: "If this collection sell we'll revive the IP" It's was a bunch of old games with unlockables so they sold nothing and it's still dead
The Darkstalkers games are currently available in Capcom Fighting Collection, just fyi. It's sold decently afaik but not enough to turn corporate heads.
I love these design reviews. Hope there will be more of 'em.
2:49 OESTROGEN ATTACK
Morrigan & Felicia are the definition of Classic.
I still remember the first time I saw Felicia. I'll just say that I was much to young to be looking at the comic I found her in.
you should check out bloody roar imo its a very underrated fighter with amazing character designs.
XD)
As an old school and proud member of the FGC who found you through this video... *MORE OF THESE, PLEASE!* 😁
Samurai Shodown (rebooted in 2019)
Guilty Gear (GG Strive released in 2021)
King of Fighters (KoF XV released in 2022)
Street Fighter (SF6 released in 2023)
Fatal Fury (City of the Wolves releases in April 2025)
Any of these (and/or previous incarnations of these series) would be amazing!
Capcom is sleeping on this and breath of fire.
I NEED BREATH OF FIRE COLLECTION!!!
Please please please do more of these
Hsienko is one of my favorite characters from darkstalkers, but I remember her more on pocket fighters. She was so fun to play with xD
I only found out how cool Darkstalkers was after watching a Spherehunter video. A werewolf martial artist and villainous Red Riding Hood is so cool.
Felicia has been my consistent main in MVC ever since I was a kid
So fun Fact, Pyron is based on the concept of the Antichrist being a Fiery being from Mars
Dang, never looked at these designs so closely before. Raptor is 100% my jam.
As much as we want Darkstalkers again, with the artist Akira "Akiman" Yasuda departing Capcom in 2003 and the later artists not capturing the same magic, the series might be forever attached to the Marvel vs Capcom games.
Speaking of them, I've heard theories that Ruby Heart and the Cactus from MvC2 were unused Darkstalkers characters.
@@brettwood1351 Amingo, Cactus, was never confirmed as a Darkstalkers asset. Ruby Heart was a rejected Darkstalker concept since it didn't fit the crazy themes as it was too... normal and not as iconic.
well the main artist of darkstalkers 3 and xmen up to marvel vs capcom 2 was Bengus (who also did the poster cover for capcom fighting collection) although theres no art for the mvc colelction he still can make more with darkstalkers.
Calling it now: If they ever make another Darkstalkers, they’ll bring in Lady D from resident evil as a guest character, at least in a dlc.
I have these games, and I like quite a few of the characters, but Morrigan is fantastic, one of my favorite characters in any game, fighting or not. I do love Felicia too of course.
I love Felicia and shes waifu material... I main her in the Competitive Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers 3) Scene
Oh my god i love your little avatar
Idk if you've already done an anlysis of guilty gear characters (if yes then where can i find it lol) but if you haven't it'd be sick to see.
Spider-Man and Morgan always go to Joe’s pizza in NYC to talk about life and vibe
You should watch the old USA Network Darkstalker cartoon: it was awful but a bunch Darkstalkers memes came out of it.
It's funny when you said sasquatch gave you digimon vibes, cuz he's basically Korikakumon from Frontiers with the details sanded off.
When i saw the page layout i went, "Is that what site i think it is!?" Only to see the address and i cheered
One of the best games of all time imo. My favorite picks were talbain, felicia and morrigan. Really a game that should have a revival
54:37 That's how you know the designs are solid.
I learned that Overwatch existed via the Rule34 artwork. Just a tidal wave of lewd pic with very strong designs. I swear it was less than 2 days after the first trailer had dropped.
lets goooo Darkstalkers mentioned!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I seeing this video, I'm feeling what this game is *the game* I always wanted (In terms of character design).
