    This post Hidden Frontier story arc, Odyssey - Helena - and Federation One have been superb story writing. Bravo for bring the most interesting arks left behind by each series TOS DS9 and Voy. DS9 is one of my favorite series of any tv show ever. So to see Sisko again. Even if it wasn't Avery, was still great. I wish this had been made a little more resent with HD cameras but what you made with the technology you had is brilliant. LLAP!

      Just remember the 'Adaptability' of the Borg. YES, new weapons actually WOULD have an effect on the Borg, with the Borg possibly losing several dozen Cubes initially, but eventually the Borg Collective WOULD adapt.
      A PERFECT example is a book I read over 20 years ago. It referred to the 'Planet Killer' encountered by Captain Kirk in the Original Series. According to the book, the 'Planet Killer' was actually a Prototype (and unmanned) for a weapon developed by an Alien Species in their fight against the Borg.
      The actual 'Planet Killer' was MUCH larger, and actually required a "Pilot" (her name was Delcara if memory serves, as the book states back when Picard was still a Cadet in Starfleet Academy).
      So my point is simply this:
      YES, the ACTUAL 'Planet Killer' had firepower VASTLY superior to the 'prototype' encountered by Kirk, and YES, it INITIALLY decimated the Borg Cubes it encountered, but because of the 'Hive-mind' mentality of the Borg Collective the Borg were eventually able to adapt and render the 'Planet Killer's' weapons increasingly less effective.
      So, as powerful and advanced as the Arkain are, they AREN'T as powerful/advanced as the Alien Species that created the 'Planet Killer' weapons.
      So while the Arkain might INITIALLY have the "advantage", the Borg would eventually adapt and subsequently obliterate the Arkain.
      Just my own personal opinion anyway.

      The original script had 'alpha particle' for the opposite of 'omega', until the technobabble minister explained to the production that alpha particles are well-known things found in smoke detectors. There was even a note in the suggested change that 'aleph' must be carefully pronounced with all its sounds, precisely so that it would not be heard as 'olive'. Oh well.

    They are the Prophets, they live outside of time and their only contact with the normal universe is through wormholes so why would distance be a problem to them? If anything Andromeda would be easier to speak to than Bajor ever was, with all the singularities opening up everywhere. It stands to reason.

    Rodenburry was an atheist, that's why they didn't touch on religion in Star Trek, that's why faith has been relegated to the 'Myth' category. Trek is supposed to explore the human condition. Religion, faith and belief are intricate parts of that condition. Stop sniping at what they've created and go do it yourself. It's a fan movie, and one they've put a lot of time into. It's their story to tell. Keep rocking, Odyssey.

    • @sixstanger00
      @sixstanger00 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Didn't touch on religion? Have you ever watched Star Trek? The Vulcans, Romulans, Klingons, Bajorans and Ferengi all had concepts of an afterlife that they believed in religiously.
      The Bajoran culture in particular, was dominated by their religion worshipping the Prophets.
      Roddenberry may have been an atheist, but religion was most definitely not excluded from the many social issues ST touched on.

    • @sixstanger00
      @sixstanger00 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      *****
      My only remark on this would be that religion was still very much a part of the ST world..
      The Vulcans practiced a religion, as did the Romulans. Almost all of the ST species had some type of afterlife belief - the most notable being the Klingons' Stovokor.
      Perhaps the most religious of all species in the ST realm were the Bajorans, though - their entire government was basically a theocracy, based entirely on their belief in The Prophets.
      (Which was later on more or less revealed that The Prophets weren't so much gods, as they were advanced beings existing on a higher plane of existence.)

    I LOVE the Seram character, she's splendidly wicked, a true evil queen but I hate how they violate canon. 12:35 don't they realize that the Bajoran's communication with the Prophets was due to their proximity to the wormhole near DS9? The Prophets literally LIVE in the wormhole. So how is this captain speaking to the Prophets all the way in Andromeda. The Prophets are not omnipresent nor are they GODS! It's irritating truly. Also, 16:00 "whatever we were MEANT to be?" Saying we were "meant" to be something implies a INTENTIONAL PURPOSE for our existence, which means there would have to be a CREATOR! The star trek universe does not believe in such things and has relegated all such thought to the realm of MYTH. Honestly guys, didn't you even WATCH the shows? NO Federation captain would propose that we were "meant" to be ANYTHING! We are what we MEAN to be in Star Trek lore.

    • @JeffDeanTheDeanZone
      @JeffDeanTheDeanZone 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** I agree... "Continues" and the upcoming Axanar are ABOVE PAR! They're almost full production quality and that's impressive on their budgets.

    • @JeffDeanTheDeanZone
      @JeffDeanTheDeanZone 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** The fact that JJ Abram's new reboot has been profitable only shows how DESPERATE fans are for anything "Trek." The kids think Trek is for nerds. (I have a 13 year old and he doesn't know ANYONE of his peers that liked the new Star Trek). This means that it's the FANS who are buying tickets to see the new reboot films. That shocks me because they are such a VIOLATION of everything TREK. They are a PALE comparison to the original. Except, I have to admit, the guy they got to play Dr. McCoy looks and speaks JUST LIKE DeForest Kelley when he was young. Google both actors and compare, it's uncanny.
      Paramount DESTROYED the star trek franchise by turning it into a soap opera set in space. How sad.

      +DragonChaserKev Enterprise was set in the 22sd Century, Star Trek set in the 23rd century and The Next Generation and Deep space 9 and voyager were all set in the 24th Century its about time as has been said for a new series. The 25th Century is were they set Hidden Frontier and Odyssey and Helena. Enterprise, Star trek, TNG, DS9 and Voyager have all had their time in the sun now its time to move on. The fan based series have been low budget the one thing I liked about the Series it brought into play slipstream and folding space. In my opinion they have made an entertaining series.

    • @ztb4337
      @ztb4337 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As a matter of fact, there is a Star Trek species creation canon. It is believed, scientifically, that a race of humanoids planted seeds of their genetics on many different plants, making many species, like humans, from there, inter-breeding formed other species like klingons.

    • @rogerwilson9361

      You are correct, The Next Generation in which you are pointing to they the aliens said they liked million of years had explored and found no one like them so the sowed seeds or DNA of themselves and form that several different species developed . The Q in which was showed that aliens were able to be in different places at one time and Star Trek from the being never said there were no God they showed there were many different gods of different aliens.

      P.S: People fuck. Deal with it. It shouldn't be that big a deal to someone who's done it a few times, so find a partner and join the human race. If the Federation isn't a time when different cultures will have to accept different behaviors among shipmates can you imagine what courting and family behaviors may be found in completely alien crewmates? If not, I don't know what IDIC means.
