We love you kern I’ll be buying a 6466 asap
Based on your explanation, would you recommend the Ultra Flow X for a basic setup with only a DS25 hpfp and downpipe? the benefits of a 6466 or bigger wouldnt be seen until going PI etc?
Looks good. Decisions are tough. Kern do you have any comments on whether keeping the stock electronic wastegate is better or worse than going with external wastegates? I assume electronic WG is “simpler” and possibly safer for the tuner. These DAW units all retaining stock WG I assume no issue with creep guessing they made the flapper larger as well.
Man Im Glad I didn’t get to order the 2.5 , now im looking at that 64mm
Hey Kern. Love the videos man. I am definitely going to be going with the 6769 as I plan to always run on 93. Love having the extra headroom if i decided to upgrade fueling.
I do have a question on this matter for my 2018 540i xdrive (currently running stage two via BM3 with high flow catted DP)
Assuming that a custom tune is needed to unlock the full potential of the 6769 - do a have a recommendation of who to go with for a custom tune? I’m struggling to find strong recommendations
Thanks in advance
Bend calibrations is a reputable tuner.
Action !
I just installed a pure800 and have this annoying tapping sound that I cant pinpoint. Hopefully If I get one of these itll get rid of the tapping noise.
And that pricing man. You really cannot beat that
I bought an ultraflow a month ago. Perhaps I should have waited lol
😢
Sell to fund the new version.
Awesome video. Wil definitely check it out. You mentioned that it's the largest stock location turbo. I think the largest stock location turbo size for b58 still goes to Bigboost with a borg warner efr 9280.
It cannot be used with stock bolt ons
I wonder if they have the intentions of doing a 2 port vs 6 port.
Why they almost look the same size as the stock turbo?
Great video as always.
Have you had your track day since you upgraded to the turbo?
Nope, but coming soon. Will post results after
What is the local track that you mainly go to?
@@edwardwerley8831 primarily Putnam Park but want to explore NCM Motorsports Park and Mid Ohio Road Course soon
Putnam park looks cool to be close but yeah NCM Motorsports Park looks like a lot of fun.
I have a 2007 E90 with upgraded twins, PI, coilovers, sway bars, M3 front control arms, and a 8HP45 trans. After I sort out a couple things I definitely want to find a road course here in Northern California.
opinions on the remnant performance kit ? Seems like the best bang for your buck
It is.
@@PureBredJ I haven’t seen many comparisons between other kits, i was hoping to get a big turbo that provides best value on 97 oct
Following… I’ve been looking into the remnant kit for a couple months now! It’s hard to tell how reliable right now.
Great video , I’m just waiting to see how you run on Corn 🌽
Should have results in the next 2 weeks or so
@@kern417 Been two weeks...
@@_spiral0ut174 i now present you with, ✨or so✨
Woo, stock location 6466 is speaking to me
Bro educate me, why the 64 over the ultra flow. I understand the hp difference but I'm lost on the response and spool times?
I have always wondered, are these ball bearing or journal bearing turbos?
Any idea if they plan to make these for a 2 port?
They do not
Kinda pissed. I just got a FlowMax V2.5+ with the UF compressor wheel, but now finding out this does everything I want better. Faster spool than FlowMax and more power than UF wheel...
shawn sent me a 6466 for my 6port supra. but i wanted to upgrade to the 6769 to touch 600hp 550tq on 93 pumpgas. should i stick with the 6466 or deal with the lag of the 6769. plans for built trans and block in the future.
600 isn't likely unless you have really good quality fuel.
@@kern417 anything that can get me close enough without having to rely on E at the moment was the gameplan. trying to find E around me is kinda a pain. i just wanted that one and done type of turbo for a highway roll racing without going topmount.
@@kevin-jm3qb for the best performance on 93 that's the one you'll want to go with.
@@kern417sorry, which one? 6466? Or 6769? I want the 6769. Shawn say stick with 6466 which I'm sure if a solid size. But build trans and block will hit the limits of the 6466.
@@kevin-jm3qb I believe Kern is referring to the larger 6769, which will produce more power on the pump. In my opinion, you would rather have a smaller turbo running a higher boost within its efficiency range than a larger turbo running less boost below its efficiency range. Speaking as an Ultra Flow owner, once you reach a certain boost, the turbo simply feels perfect. However, pump fuel will limit your options for both turbos; of course, smaller turbo will cave in first in terms of heat creating octane limitations.
I saw a post that said pure was making a hybrid turbo with a T51_R mod how do you think that’s gonna compare?
Daw already have t51 mod available its a sound mod with no performance benefit
@@behindthebuild8016 which turbo is this available on? i thought the only stock location turbo with t51r was remnants kit
From Daw owners FB post -“ We will start offering the T51R mod later this spring for Gen 1 & Gen 2 B58.
Getting tired of people asking for this emotional sound so we're caving in lol.
Generally we're not fans of selling things based off emotions like different color compressor wheels, sounds but instead of people getting lured into subpar turbos for different colors & sounds we will just start offering :)”
Lfg !!! I just want a 650hp car that’s sounds like it’s making 2000hp lmao daily life
DAW will give you that for sure great turbos
How do these compare to the pure 800
We had pures and moved to daw they’re a great built turbo with good owner support
What supporting mods would I need with ULTRA FLOW X to reach at 650-700whp range?
Can I do DI only?
If DI you’ll need to do injectors HPFP and cam
Cheaper and more common option is port injection and lpfp
@@behindthebuild8016 Cheaper even with new manifold?
You don’t need to upgrade your manifold you only need the plat that sits under it.
@@behindthebuild8016 What size injectors and controller do you recommend?
@@pantologyspool has a good set. You can stick to the oem ones for now, just expect injector duty cycle to be a bit high
Hi Kevin thanks
I ordered a flow max for gen2, does that mean it would be better to order the ultra flow X?
My goal is to obtain the largest possible spool
Tks
No the flowmax is a great turbo if you daily your car
6769 is a movie 🔥🔥
Is it worth waiting for the Pure 900 to drop or get something like this?
this will just as good maybe better the pure900.. they have nothing yet for gen1 which is weird cause the majority of b58 market is gen1. only thing is pure900 could have t571r mod
@@ZEROOC00L Can you not get the T51R mod on the DAW? I've seen the RP OMEGA turbos they support T51R and make around the same power as the DAW & Pure.
@@Binary010 i dont think so they have to remachine the turbine housing it might mess with flow , it just sounds cool . Would def get DAW new turbo ... stock manifold location with full frame capabilities
@@Binary010daws will have TR51 mod in the spring
875 whp on top turbo 😳 and just for 3500$
Pure900 will go sleep with 5k estimated.
Pure900 is nowhere near 5K. Where in the entire fuck did you get that number from?
i need more $
How am i supposed to tell everyone my shits stock like my pure 850 if they're marking them...
I want that 6466
Couple bits of mis information there.
1) they never showed the ultraflow vs the 6464 or 6769 compressor wheel pics they only compared the 6769 compressor to oem stock.
2) the new ultraflow made the same on pump as the original and looked as if spool was the same from your dyno
3) on pump gas only the 6769 will be horrible to drive off boost until 4500rpm+ where it’ll start making decent torque (400ftpd) which u don’t mention
4) most good tuners on the b58 will not advise u that you’ll make good power on pump 93 only and you’ll actually be faster with a smaller turbo that makes the same torque but lower in the rev range
5) the measurements we’ve taken of the previous ultraflow make it already a 6464 turbo so there’s minimal difference in getting the new 6466 turbo.
6) it appears the housings on the new turbos hasn’t increased in size much at all and that’s where a true full frame shows its power potential
Very interested in seeing the results when there’s more data available
1. 5:05
2. I shared why my pump gas results were what they were. I never tried the previous ultra flow.
3. If you haven't driven the turbo, you can't really comment on it. Peak Boost does not mean poor driveability. Majority of driving is out of boost to begin with.
4. That is 100% wrong. A bigger turbo will always be faster than smaller with everything else being equal, particularly lower octane fuel. I also shared my results and was 2 seconds faster 60-130.
5. I shared in my previous video why airflow is more important than boost. That also applies to turbo sizing. For example, a new precision 6466 will be much faster than older gens.
6. Put the two exhaust housings side by side and get back to me. These are brand new castings and not the same as the old ones.
Ethanol test results will be posted soon.
We’ve had plenty of different sized turbos and with the ZF 8 speed if your driving at anything other than foot all the way down or in manual mode these larger turbos aren’t hitting boost before upshift resulting in very sluggish driving manners.
If you’re going to be impartial you need to illustrate that.
Remember most people aren’t racing their cars they’re just driving them and majority of that is partial throttle driving and that’s where these larger turbos are WAYYY slower. Performance times wise they may be quicker but that’s only one dimension of use.
@@behindthebuild8016 i have no reason to lie. This isn't my first big turbo car. Again peak boost at 4500rpm doesn't mean no boost at 4400rpm. They drive just fine around town and a downshift puts you into boost easily if you need to accelerate. It just sounds like you haven't actually driven a car like that. Reading a graph doesn't tell the whole picture.
As stated we’ve done plenty of b58s with different sized turbos and if you read what I said it’s the driving behaviour at any other than WOT the trans doesn’t downshift unless you’re in S but not in D unless you press the medal down past half way. But hey don’t listen to another enthusiast
@@behindthebuild8016 every time a turbo comes out that's slightly more laggy people say the same thing. When I see folks start swapping for smaller turbos I'll consider that a problem. In the meantime i hear no complaints from other enthusiasts.
65omega is the best daw can't compete

Shady company, they are fly by night were selling on ebay for n54 and just vanished and no longer sell their n54 turbos. Its just repackaged chinese with fake balance sheets.
They stop selling n54 stuff because the owners were so toxic. Their turbos are fantastic and the flow max+ were never repackaged Chinese stuff. The manifold with the daw logo is proof it’s not Chinese.
