A workbook, a student's workbook...some of the most brilliant and fundamental music in the Western European tradition was just some keyboard exercises J.S. Bach wrote for his son and other students. We should all be thankful that this master of music was so focused on transmitting the craft to the future.
We live 273 years after Bach's death, a time of marvellous science and medicine, and yet, an almost brain-dead, pop /post mod culture. And an Alzheimer's Biden corpse propped up in the White & Black House among many, many other absurdities and follies . Beam me , not up, but back, Scotty!
@@horationelson57Yes, but through the miracle of electromagnetic waves, TH-cam can give us miracles of choice and chosen music (with commercials, of course).
The inventions, small preludes, both WTC volumes and a great deal of other Bach's keyboard pieces fit into 4 octaves, making them playable on any instrument and revelaing that JSB was primarily an organist, as this was the standard compass of an organ manual of his time. His son CPE, as a cembalist, always used a broader cembalo range.
As a fan, I DO NOT like how you put ads in the middle of BWV 790. It is extremely disrespectful to the composition and listeners. I just realized this isn't @BenjaminAlard_channel. I recommend Benjamin Alard to copyright strike this video or amend any licensing contract agreement that allowed @bachology to use this video.
Where's the passion? Where's the drive? The wig, the candelabrum, the sense of theatre, the fun? Instead it's this boring nothing backdrop to _technical_ music. Whenever I go to these things they give long overwrought introductions to the musicians and to every piece, and then demand gratuitous applause before, after, and maybe a second time after. It all saps the life and soul and interest out of music.
Shut up. If you can't enjoy the music for what it is, then what are you here for? Bach's thrill and passion is in the chords itself, in the arpeggios and harmony. He played it very well, it's very musical and has a technical accuracy that is just perfect of listening to

Alright smart arse!!!
What a fine harpsichord, and exquisite playing.
Isn't this a clavichord? A harpsichord has two keyboards

Does he have something against e flat?
As in Two-Part Invention No. 5?
@@tucsonamama Yea! He just skipped it, and I love that invention
@@zurich5607 So the title " Inventions and Sinfonias - Complete" is something of a fraud.
Also BWV792 is cut off before the end. Editor problem, not performer problem.
@@cellphysfan124He seemed to lose his place in the music and could not ‘recover’ it. So he just turned the page and carried on!!

If you want visual entertainment go to a circus.
Next time you go, maybe Johann will do a striptease for you if you slip him a few francs
Surely this is a troll
А ведь я играл эти Инвенции лет 40 на3ад.....Или 42 года минуло..
