The song "American Pie" was written about Buddy Holly. On the morning of January 21st 2022 , I was having coffee with my wife and watched the news .It was announced that Meat Loaf had passed. I turned to my wife with tears in my eyes and said, "Darlin, today is the day MY music died". She understood my love for his music and was also a fan. She cried with me. I have been a fan of this awesome singer since 1980 when my buddy plugged in Bat Out Of hell while we were crusing around one evening. I will be a fan until I take my last breath .Thank you, Meat for all the power, soul and love you poured into your music, R.I.P. Now you and Jimmy are back together and I sure hope when I get there you have new wonderful music to share. P.S. Could you say hi to my Mom and Dad,They enjoyed your music very much. Till we meet again, Rest Well, Brother
I have been a fan of Meatloaf since I was a young girl. He was my first concert. I was 13 1993. When his 2nd Bat out of hell came out. My favorite album was the first Bat out of Hell. R.I.P. sweet angel. Be at peace with your Brother Jim another great genius.Your time here was grateley appreciated.
“Someone must have blessed us with these songs….” Both Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman blessed us many times over. Just awoke to the news of Meat Loaf’s passing, I feel knocked over. I became a fan at his first appearance on SNL. An extraordinary performer. Regardless the obstacles, both Meat and Jim shared a similar tenacity, perfectionism and the heart to go on with the show. What a rich story of survival, an awesome musical performance and catalog, and an on it acting legacy Meat Loaf gave us. The Jim Steinman number of songs written for so many people is amazing…. put him in front of a piano & decade after decade he wrote fantastic songs. Whether Collaborating or doing their own things, these two men will not be forgotten. Sooo grateful to have watched things unfold. With Respect, Peace, Love and Many Thanks!
This time last year we were all so startled, so proud and so excited to see Meat looking and sounding better than he had done in years, and not four months later...I haven't watched this video since he passed, but I had to come back today on Meat's birthday for another viewing. Hard to believe he'll never grace a stage again, but this turned into a hell of a final bow.

I've got to say it I wasn't expecting meat loaf to ever come back after his past issues with his back and voice but he's clearly been working on his issues and he's back! He seems a hell of a lot more comfortable on stage than he did in the last ten year or so.

The hardest thing for me is, like Elvis, Meat was so full of energy in every little thing he did that it’s hard to comprehend his passing. Then it’ll hit me and I’ll cry like a baby. My Dad made me a fan at 4 years old and have been an avid fan for 28 years now and will be a die hard fan until the day I pass away. The amount of phone calls and texts I got the day the news came of his passing was phenomenal. People asking if I was okay as if Meat was family. Meat WAS all of us fan’s family member. He treated us as family and we loved him like family. I’m just so greatful for the time I spent with him.

At least Meat and Jim are together again in rock and roll heaven they'll be writing hymns for the angels of rock
After listening to this great video, all I can say is "WOW", Meat Loaf and band!! RIP Meat Loaf!
Absolutely nobody yeah fkg NOBODY will ever perform a concert with more passion and a genuine love of passion for the great lyrics of his friend Jim Steinman creations. I'm in tears that both now of these gentlemen are among us anymore. Who feels the same??
Unbelievable to hear his voice telling those stories again. What a performer, what a voice, what a legend
R.I.P.
Thanks for the words. I tearfully agree. RIP.
i'm revisiting this post today, listening to one of the best entertainers and singers in my generation. I'm 65. I loved Meat Loaf and His music.. We're still listening Brother!!
This recording is so amazing. Just perfect.
So sad you are gone, Meat Loaf...
Rest in peace, Meat
Still killin' it! My heart went out when he said at the start that he'd need to start singing or else he'd cry after talking about Jim Steinman.
Somewhere in heaven there’s one hell of a concert going on and the angels are dancing to paradise by the dashboard lights

I thought I would never hear Meat singing again. Almost crying singing “Out of the frying pan (and into the fire)” along. So glad to listen to this, bravo!
Legend. Saw Meat Loaf on stage and met him some 35 years ago. What a stage performance and also wery likeable in person.
Incredible to see him back on stage along with the good old stage presence and attitude. I'm mighti impressed and looking forward for more.
The man the voice. There was and will be only one Meat Loaf. The man is gone the music will stay as long as music exists.
I've got to say it I wasn't expecting meat loaf to ever come back after his past issues with his back and voice but he's clearly been working on his issues and he's back! He seems a hell of a lot more comfortable on stage than he did in the last ten year or so.
Rest in peace Meat Loaf! I was so happy when I watched this performance not long ago to see that you still had it and nailed it 100%! Thanks for your extraordinary and unique music.
Just come across this after his death I'm in denial. I'm not going to cry anymore, just celebrate his music. Love and Peace ❤️✌️
the greatset rock and roll voice
I hope he’s jamming with Elvis Presley Michael Jackson prince Freddie Mercury John Lennon George Harrison and everyone else.

heatbroken at the news. Seeing him back on stage after he said he'd never seen was a prayer answered. RIP Meat. I'm sure you and Jim are celebrating together again. Heaven just got a blessing, but this world just won't be the same. Miss you Meat. Glad you got to make your comeback after surgery before you were taken from us.
