So the 99 signals we are averaging, are they all from the same electrode? Or are they, as i'm thinking, each an average of all electrodes on scalp? Or how to make sense of that? Thx for videos ^^
That's the definition of an ERP. Other analyses usually involve some feature-extraction at the single-trial level, then averaging. Other analyses utilize the cross-trial variability. Quite some diversity in the ways to analyze EEG data :)
Could we add to this circle of 'EEG information measures' EEG complexity? What do you think about such analysis that takes the EEG signal, measures its complexity, and associates it with relevant phenomena?
Oh definitely! This was meant as a simplified conceptual diagram, not an exhaustive list of analysis possibilities. Measures of EEG signal complexity are quite interesting, and have been linked to levels of consciousness.
Really cool. I was not really aware of this huge downside of ERP analysis. Many thanks

Yes, 99 trials (repetitions) from each channel. 64 channels.
are we taking the average of single electrode's data over all trials?

@@mikexcohen1 thanks for the reply. Are ERPs useful in extracting information in multi-trial oddball experiments?
Perfect 👍🏻
Are the notes of these videos available? All the text of what you said.
I don't have them, but YT autogenerates the subtitles, and I guess there should be a way for you to download them.

@@mikexcohen1 yeah, this consciousness level relationship is exactly what gets me interested in EEG complexity
