Wow just seeing this out of the box th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
I fished some rivers in NZ with my brother Con (we’re Irish) 4 years ago and this video brought back a lot of happy memories. You haven’t lived as a fisherman until you’ve hooked and landed a 7lb rainbow in a NZ river. Out guide was also amazing - Paddy Clark and put us over some beauties. Great video and we’ill definitely go back when Covid ‘over’
I'm irish myself, just bought my first fly rod today and cant wait to get out this week and give it a go, been watching vids for beginners and proper excited, I'll probably try a stocked fishery first just incase I'm casting wrong and hopefully someone points it out and shows me what I'm doing wrong.
@@donaloflynn3922 I'm in antrim, I'm actually going to hill head fishery out by ballymena tomorrow to try my luck and see how things go, they have a bait pond aswell so I'm going to bring my son and he can fish the smaller pond with a worm while I try my luck with the fly.
Wow !! The country of NZ is breath taking, and the warmth of the Kiwi people elevate your experience !! US Navy Veteran I was attached to 3 Squadron Auckland N.Z.as a flt Crewman I was assigned some civil tasking missions with the Ministries of Fishing and they required us to fly them into some wild rivers where the access was extremely limited Helo the best option. I did a lot of these special missions, I am (blessed to catch and release 15 20 lb Rainbows and browns ) hooking 8 or 10 of these Monster Wild Trout kicks your Butt. I highly and gratefully recommend going with these guys on a nice fishing trip. Thats exactly the place that tops the ol bucket list .
That first rainbow your friend got at the start? Fish of a lifetime for most anglers in the Mountain West, here in the States. Brilliant! Love seeing these.
Wow mate! Those fish jumps are the best thing you wanna experience from any fish! You should appreciate that because it makes fishing more fun and exciting.
Great vid! Amazing leaping fish! You guys are so lucky to have such brilliant river fishing in nz. What I find strange is that 600 odd people gave this vid a thumbs down. What is wrong with them!? Dont understand how anyone could dislike this vid.
That is Absolutely Beautiful Fish Rainbows And The River is Look Beautiful Water Thanks For Sharing us Your Fishing Show i Love Fishing i'm From Vancouver British Columbia Canada love it 😎😁👍👍👌😚
When watching and seeing this video I was inspired to modify this fly fishing technique by using a shelter tool to fish in the swift river currents. I exchange the use of insects as bait with bait from palm fruit that has been mixed in such a way, and the results were very satisfying ... thank you for the video
I know people tht would pay lots of money to have trout fishing g trip like this video. Me included. Trout fishing is by far my favorite thing to do in the world n I do alot of it but getting away from where other people fish n fish a river with little to no access n catch fish like yall r. I can't even explain how jealous I am watching tish video
Are you fishing the south island? A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of fishing the north island and catching some nice rainbow and brown trout but nothing like the ones you got. I did hook into a very big rainbow that took off like a freight train and ran me into about 20 feet of my backing and then did a beautiful jump and got away but at least I got a quick sight of it only for a moment. It's a moment I'll never forget.
Wicked vid bro. I can't believe some naysayer has given it a thumbs down.... Great bush bashing, great drone work, great editting, but most of all great fishing record. Spectacular.
This has to be about as good as fly fishing gets on the entire planet.
Yep, complete with didimo from Canada!
Yep that's NZ its perfect trout habitat.
Facts!
Doesn't get any better than that. The hike in, the fish... amazing!
Cheers
I can honestly say, catching a fish always puts a smile on my face! :)

Stellar drone work at the end of this one. Whole video was great - adventure location, big bow jumps, gorgeous clean fish, interesting river.
I’ve just been starting fly fishing and your videos motivate me to keep going.
Stick with it! You won’t regret
Jacob W thank you!
1 year later… Did you stick with it?
Memancing adalah hobi yang menyenangkan,
My jaw was on the floor the whole video! That's some of the best fishing I've seen and I've fished some of the best waters in the lower 48!
Cheers mate I appreciate that
Beautifully coloured athletic rainbows. and so big!!!. The pristine gorgeous river is a dream too.

Right? I live in Colorado and cant believe the size of these trout.
Welcome to New Zealand boys 🇳🇿
The fruits of a catch and release fishing culture. Gotta love it.
Appreciate your hard coreness in bushwacking down that hill. The stick is clearly an invaluable tool! Totally worth it for those quality fish.
I love the thing that you release the fish after catch. Here in my place theres no more fish like that it was so many in my childhood.
I was amazed at the climb down... That water is breathtaking...
Thanks mate
Such a beautiful spot. So cool you got access there by quad. Absolutely amazing fish. Well done.
Wow mate!
Those fish jumps are the best thing you wanna experience from any fish!

I love how sensitive those wool indicators are, they just disappear. Too bad they don't work well in faster water.
Trout are such perfect specimens of fish.
