Love watching pipe going off👍. We’ve got “Aussie” pipe here in australia also known as black rock. Doesn’t hold the swell pipeline does but when the swell direction is right, the tides right and its offshore it’s the most insane left. Holds 10-15’ and breaks on a reef and not for the faint hearted😉
Grew up in Jervis bay surfed it nearly everyday(wagging school haha) in all kinds of size and conditions and can honestly say it does not hold 10-15 foot and probably the most playful user friendly reef on the south coast
Sounds crazy I know, but is it less crowded this year on the North Shore? Looks like there's only 40 people out. Also, has Pipeline changed a little in the last decade or so? Looks a little more fickle on swell direction and shape, or maybe we just see so much footage nowadays.
Gets much more crowded when small. Also, I think it's a little early in the season. I wouldn't know, i've only been shooting it for 4 years. But I remember surfing it in high school and it being perfect a lot.
Dude with the helmet on the red board @ 3:20 did such a good job working his way through the crowd on that bomb… if only he’d run out a little further to beat the section 😮
This. Is. Beautiful. Some of the most gorgeous surf footage I've ever seen.
Thanks! I'm stoked you enjoyed it!
Scary feeling when all that white water is heading ur way. You’re right about the drone angle looking into it. Pipe is throwing wide. Thanks ODL 🤙
Yeah. When you're inside and the horizon gets dark, and nowhere to run from being hit by those sets rolling in
When this happens to me, the first thing I think of is 'i knew i should've stayed home'. haha
@@OffDaLip 😁
great shots
You really do capture the place. outstanding footage!
thank you, really appreciate it 🤙

I grew up surfing Queensland gold and sunshine coasts and I still can't go left lol

Clean conditions. Big NW swell.
Gorgeous!
One of those days
So many drones out there. Do you fly FPV or use a screen?
I've never tried FPV. Looks pretty insane though!
THE Best vids..yewww
Yewwww! Thank you
Thanks
thanks for watching

I thought he was trying to go Kahuku
Great. Just surf sounds.

I haven’t surfed @ Pipe in over 20 years, but the wave has definitely looked different to me since about 2009/2010 or so.
...and these days it looks way different than in the 90
Early season, more sand on the reef. After a couple of bigger swells the sand will disappear and it will be less section-y
Some questions out of curiosity:
Does the drone get wet? In sea air?
Do you use it in sport mode?
DJI mini 4 pro?
Thanks
unreal how many drone are flying out at pipe now! I wonder how many will be lost to da ocean this winter?
What's the over-under?

@ thanks man, yah I reckoned it was job but didn’t wanna claim 👌🏼
It’s pretty much difficult to out to white wash water . It’ll make them in the washing machine and find direction to get a gulp of air
No one can afford to pick up and go… who knew this swell was going to do to his..
Not me. I had hopes, but you just never know
Some got lucky some don’t
Is this at Pipeline?
Maili point
The side angle shot makes those occasional OTW lefts look good. Plenty west on this day washing the pack around
This day the water hit the wall at OTW, took out a bunch of photogs and I had to put my stuff in a tree. Not even safe on land haha
@OffDaLip that is a lot of water moving....and reason #58 why trees are cool🤙🏼
@@mattgurin6168 haha. yea, i could see the ocean pulling the sand off the beach in real time. Pretty nuts
That’s not for the inexperienced 😉
experts only on these days
