That was not only the best podcast, but quite possibly the best interview I've ever seen. If any of you haven't, go check it out. I also strongly recommend the Mike Tyson documentary.
To be honest, I was hooked on JRE because of Chael. That episode where you said that your dad knew who DB Cooper was (among other topics) was it for me. Never stopped listening/watching since.
I think hes doing it because its making him feel good, he said the part hes most happy about is giving back, he said every other fight he was in he got paid and now hes paying back. What would make you feel better than giving millions back to the people who love you? I think we all love Mike.
He did tell us why. He said he wants to be the “champion of giving” I think giving back is what is fueling him. I also noticed that he seems to think if he is not fighting for money or belts he will be able to control the animal be says he becomes when he is fighting.
I hope this is good for Tyson - mentally and physically. As Chael mentioned, Tyson said he had left this part of his life behind him - he didn’t like the person it made him when he was fighting. He looked to have moved on and was happy, more or less, and had his show, and guest appearances. Plus spending time with his family.

Tyson touched on why this is happening on the JRE. He is working with someone to create a new series of events where legends come back to compete. This is kickoff of that. He mentioned boxers, people like Allen Iverson playing one on one vs another legend, legends from all sports coming back to put on a show.
