I saw him at a concert in NC. After the show a bunch of us caught up with him, and one guy asked him about it. He said a friend of his had put it together for him a couple years back. It hooks up to an amp, and get's a really awesome sounds when he starts playing.
We wandered Into The Oasis restaurant in Austin Texas on Lake Travis six or seven years ago, and shakey was performing at the brewery. We were blown away by his music. He was using the suitcase bass drum back then also which made it all the more interesting to see him here.

If i'm reading into this correctly, the song's about how, when you go though life, there's always people who think they're more intelligent than you, so they think they have to tell you the lessons they learned from their mistakes. When really it's just bullshit. Most of it at least. But that would also explain the lyric, "Didn't trust a word he hissed to me." The "Snake" is general, all the people giving the advice are the "Snakes". So you just better "Run". Once again, I could be wrong.
