This fall, buckeye fans are going to watch UCLA's coach call in a play to Kansas State's QB, who will take a snap from Bama's center, then turn and hand it to the Ole Miss RB.
Wrong because the former Bama center don't know how to snap the ball.

Texas being ranked 5th with only having one good year the past 3 years is crazy considering OU wasn’t on the list at all. 💀
What has ou done the last three years?
this list is more about current momentum as opposed to historical results to be fair. Texas recruiting, staff, and player development is extremely strong right now.

@@devaughnowsley3871 sustained their success outside of one year when they got their program gutted and got a new head coach. They then (in one year) turned that into a double digit win season. I’m not saying they should be ranked 1st but Texas should not be ranked 5th if OU isn’t ranked. Both schools have had top 10 recruiting classes (yet OU beat them 2/3 years), Texas’ past three records have been 5-7, 8-5, 12-2, OU’s have been 11-2, 6-7, 10-3. Notre dame went to the playoffs twice maybe lsu but Florida state and ou is very fair to be ranked over.
I think it’s a decent list. Don’t agree with Texas. Going forward, Texas will be top tier, but not following your criteria of this video. I also think, based on a 3 year span, Michigan should get the nod over bama. 2nd best record over 3 years, 3 conference championships, 3 playoff appearances, rose bowl champ, national champ, H2H victory over bama. The only thing Michigans beat on by a few teams is recruiting. But development is 2nd to none. Michigan is late to NIL and really hasn’t even developed it. Michigan is up there with the most resources.
It was a fight for Josh to say anything about Michigan 😂😂😂
Right. It’s like he was in pain trying to say anything positive about Michigan.
According to Josh anything not SEC is garbage.
I said the same thing, just like Finebaum after the Rose Bowl and championship....LOVE IT

Texas being in top 10 not Oklahoma u make me sick
Where tf is Oklahoma. When you use your components with this list, Recruiting, on field results, and, overall synergy. Oklahoma is above everyone on the back half of this list. They have recruited better these past 3 years then the back half of the list, they have just just as well on the field as everyone on the back half of this list
Not to mention OU’s past three records are 11-2, 6-7, and 10-3 and we didn’t make the list YET Texas’s past three records are 5-7, 8-5, and 12-2 and they’re ranked 5th. Make that make sense 😂
Except LSU
@@bootamonster Ok. Texas in the last 3 years has 3 top 5 classes, a conference title and made the playoffs.
@@bootamonsteryea in the big 12 lol
@@jonathonedwardmiller Ok. In the last 3 years OU has had three top 10 classes (and still beat Texas 2/3 years), and if you want to talk about the Big 12 props to them for winning it last year, but that was the first time since 2009 (in that period OU won the Big 12 5 times), and if you want to talk about playoffs congrats to them for making it last year, but that was the first time ever for them (OU has been 4 times). In the two “down years” of OU they’ve gone 6-7 (bad) and 10-3 (good) with a new HC. Sark went 5-7 (bad) and 8-5 (okay). So if you want to put Texas ahead of OU because of the success they’ve had in their last year, sure, but to have them 5th and OU not on the list at all is crazy.

Michigan had 9 portal additions on that championship team what are you talking about they the last team ever to win it all without transfers??
Many of them were depth players. Four were starters in the CFP-five if you include the place-kicker. All of them were culture fits.

Notre Dame or LSU shouldn’t be above FSU.

Where are the Sooners? This list was just lazy.
Off the list. Because in no universe have they been a top 10 program over the last 3 years.

I wonder what your list would look like if you only considered the last 20 years by average final rankings.
Hey Josh,
Huge fan of the show (been watching your videos for about a year now). Just a heads up, a ton of commentators seem to pronounce Clemson as Clemzen. It's not the biggest deal, but sometimes it can feel disrespectful to some when an analyst (especially one as knowledgeable as you) doesn't know how to say the name of your school right. Please look into this.

@@brianjirishnumber 7 probably. And I’d kick out Clemson.
They went 6-7 after their entire offense was pillaged by Riley. And then immediately turned it around the following year. After the Texas game last season (that they won), tons of media figures were putting OU in the top 4.
Lost a few they shouldn’t have, because they weren’t an awesome team. But so did FSU, LSU, Clemson and Texas.

As a Michigan fan I’ll say your list is pretty closed to mines besides Texas being 5th and lsu being 8th I might switch them having lsu 5 or 6 and Texas 8th and maybe usc over Clemson at 9 now that they are in the big10/big16 lol
what has lsu done in the last 3-4 that texas hasnt and then reverse that question? 😂
Ok I usually agree with a lot of your opinions but this top 10 just made me laugh....I'll give you the top 4 but after that a big nope. Texas and LSU over rated. I don't think Florida State does anything near what they did last year. Clemson eh. I don't know how you can have Notre Dame where they are without Penn State being the team above or below them when they have done better than them the last 2 years their only losses being to your #3 and #4 teams. Biased much....
I can’t argue with any of that. Once you get past that top 6, there’s a bunch of teams in the 2nd tier.
Well I lost all respect I have for you when you called Texas UT lol
As a UGA fan I am surprised that Mizzou didn’t make the list towards the back end. They have really stepped up in the past couple years.

Sam Hartman was a bust and Jared Parker was a shit OC. ND upgraded
how are we in the top 10 when we were dogshit before the year 2000 💀
I think this is recent memory.
Because it's current programs today. Not all time. Even if you wanted to be a Homer, Vegas would probably only favor 6 teams above Oregon on a neutral field today and those teams are ranked in front of us in this very poll. Sure we lost to Washington but we didn't just lose our whole staff and most of our stars like Washington just did. Our program is very very stable even despite all the coaching changes. If we'd won a couple of natties we'd be top 5 program for the last decade easily

Very surprised that Ole Miss is not on this list.
They'll be up there next year.
@@greenwave819 I think that could be argued. Last 3 seasons are 10-2, 8-5, 11-2. We just came off yet another #1 ranked transfer portal class along with a top 5 high school Dline class, and have quality players and depth at nearly every position. I think Ole Miss is more worthy than some of the other teams on this list, but hey, it’s a computer models list.
I would imagine the next four are probably some arrangement of Ole Miss, USC, Oklahoma, Penn State.
Don't be surprised, tanner, he ha--uh, dislikes Ole Miss.
Are you serious??? I love Mississippi to death, can't wait for the Rebs or Bulldogs bring one home to the state. That said, there's easily 20 programs better than Ole Miss football right. Y'all may be thinking top 10 teams. A team is year to year. The best programs consistently put together winning teams and sustain a winning culture.
Josh didn’t watch Clemson the last 2 years..and he surely didn’t watch the cluster f of bad offensive play this spring. Clemson is turning into Iowa. And to put fsu up there is a prisoner of the moment pick. Those will not age will
Clemson is definitely still up there. They’re down years they’ve finished 13,14, and 20th in the rankings. And the 6 years before that they made the playoffs every year. They’ve finished in the top 20 for the last 13 years
Idk Clemson and Florida State are elite. 9 is low for Florida State and 10 is not generous for Clemson.
@@trevorblanton6270 When their "down" years are their most recent years, that by definition means they have fallen off. What happened 4 years ago and earlier has no bearing on today's rankings

@@Dre384 yea they brought back a solid core on both sides of the ball and have a top 5 hs and top 10 transfer class. They have no reason not to be a top 10 school bud. I've got Oregon before Texas at #5.
Ohio State won eight against Michigan Michigan has to win alot more against Ohio State to equal that you are wrong again Michigan won't even be in the top five
Totally agree w the list.
Last year I thought it was premature to put Michigan ahead of Ohio State because they didn’t do anything else but beat them where Ohio State has had success in playoffs. Now that they won the natty they are absolutely a better program. Until November when OsU throws them a beating
I think OSU is going to bully Michigan in 2024. I could be wrong but I just don’t see Michigan with the changes going on and how much they’ve lost on their roster being able to stand up to OSU this season.
I think 2025 should be interesting though. You’ll have a lot of guys at OSU who elected to come back leave (plenty of talent behind them though), and a lot of the younger guys at Michigan stepping up to the plate.
@@MBlue-sk4tr You don't understand Michigan football very well.
Yeah OSU was going to throw them a beating last three years dream on. Cryin Ryan sucks.
@@mkwy8782 Whatever helps get you through the day, friendo 🍻
@@mkwy8782 I’m level-headed, and realistic. There are many things going against UM’s favor in 2024 in terms of The Game. While they can win, they lose significant pieces on both sides of the ball of their roster, but especially their offense, losing their QB, both starting receivers, RB 1, TE 2, and entire starting O-line. They lose their head coach, and a plethora of other coaches and support staff (won’t name them all but I’m sure you’re aware). OSU also brings ALOT back. The Game is in Columbus.
Michigan winning is a massive uphill battle in 2024. Possible, but I say unlikely as of now.

I don't think "never" should factor into it. Why does it matter whether they won a natty in 1950 or 1980? Would that increase their odds of winning one in 2024? Only six schools have won a natty in the playoff era. You'd still need four more to round out your top 10.

Washington should be above Oregon and Texas the disrespect is unbelievable Washington is 2-0 over Texas and 3-0 over Oregon the last 2 years
Washington losing by a lot to Michigan TWICE in the last 3 years kills Washington's resume but I agree, on field wins should matter more.
Washington has no consistency and is a perennial mediocre team. They're basically good 1 year out of 4 and never maintain success long term. Don't forget that Oregon has dominated Washington for the most part the last 20 years. 2 years of squeaking by with 3 point wins against a head coach in his 1st and 2nd years isn't impressive, particularly given how much experience DeBoer has.

LSU has a championship, 2 Heisman winners within the past 5 years. I think that says a lot about a program.
@@ZakMcDonald64 True, but FSU beat their Heisman winner twice, and the other Heisman and championship team was a completely different program. I dont think it is fair to say that the current regime is responsible for those wins.
The sec gave texas a cupcake schedule, as a Sooner id prefer the fire, not the ice-cream itll build us for the future.
Love how everyone is saying texas has a cupcake schedule. Just to hedge against them actually being good there first yr in the sec. Its funny how people need built-in excuses for a team just in case they are good. Where are the people who love to blow the sec and talk about how good and deep they are? Here is a fact. Texas plays next year the #1 team. And last years national championship team at there place. I wouldnt call that a cupcake.
@josephrenfro6071 An SEC schedule is certainly not a cupcake schedule. Humility is one week away in this conference. Some ppl just assume that because every team in the conference doesn't have 10+ wins, that means it's only a few good teams. The difference in the SEC compared to other leagues is that everybody (except Vandy) has top talent on their rosters, while other conferences only have a few teams. 11+ SEC schools finish in the top 25 recruiting rankings just about every single year. There are no "off" weeks in conference play. It's a gauntlet week after week of playing teams with top talent. Sleep on a MSST, or Mizzo, or South Carolina, or a Kentucky if you want, and it can turn into an L quick. Glad to have Texas and OU in the SEC. Gonna make for some great games for sure
Texas really does have a cupcake schedule. Don't even have to play Alabama.
Roll tide!
@shawnd229 i dont think anyone disagrees that the sec has more nfl talent than any other league. What people argue about is how good those teams actually are. Having nfl talent doesnt always equate to a good team. We see this every year. And texas fans have lived this for 13 years. We have always had the most talented team in yhe b12. And we hardly ever won yhe league. Because we wernt the best team.
Not sleeping on teams is a thing all p5 conferences have had to deal with. I believe its way easier to "get up" for a team. Than play down to one. Texas will have more relative success in the sec than big12. Just on the pure fact we have to get up for 90% of the games. Compared to the big12 when we only had 1. The proof of this is in our history. The last time texas was consistently a top 3 team was when the big 12 was stronger (arguably the best conference) we had more major rivalries and bigger programs in the conference. Texas was always #1 or #2. We atrophied over the last decade because we lost all of our rivalries and big time programs except one. Its much harder to get up to go play Kanas at 11am in Lawrence in November than it will be to get up to play any sec school (not including vandy)
@keving3982 You could say Bama doesn't even have to play Texas....last I checked Texas has "scoreboard" on Bama....
Great idea having this discussion. Bad idea putting Michigan third. When was the last time a head coach left after winning a national championship? Why is Michigan outside the top 40 in recruiting? You have to factor in that Michigan and Harbaugh failed to beat Ohio State until Conor Stalions appeared. Zero wins. Player development - the NFL rosters at the start of last season had 48 OSU and 38 Michigan players. The three best players to leave the SEC this off-season all went to Ohio State. Why?
I understand this is not a predictive ranking. But when you look at the state of the program Ohio State is right behind Georgia.
How’d it feel watching Michigan hoist the natty this year? I bet it hurts badly? Sucks to be Ohio state. Ryan day is a clown and a rat and a cry baby. Ohio state did everything in there power to prevent Michigan to win it all and it backfired so bad 😂
Go blue baby!
Because results matter
Michigan ahead of OSU right now is a garbage take. OSU is straight up gunning for the natty this year, Michigan isn’t. OSU retained most starter and improved their staff, as well as their roster. OSU is recruiting near the top as well for future success. Michigan lost most of their coaches, lost most players that had an impact and their recruiting is trash. Sure Michigan has had a better program the past 3 years (without including the thought of their cheating scandal) but between Michigan and OSU, OSU is and has been built for the long haul. Michigan was only built for a short run to crumble after.
You're salty.
Josh contradicted himself with the Texas ranking. Started the show saying it was based on what they are now and a rolling 3 year or so output....not what they will be. Texas energy / synergy has only been good for one season lol. And the wins definitely haven't been there outside of 2023... Not to a top 5 program rankings level
I never get the Texas thing - they have all the elements to be top-5 every year but rarely do it
I'd like to point out Bama owns UGA over the last 4 years. 2-1.
But DUMBA$$ Bama hasn't won the Natty's that Georgia has the last 5 years....Georgia 2 & Bama 1.

So basically all criteria stated at the beginning of the video was bs.

@@daltonpalmer3897 Just a little research and Oregon and Ole Miss should be higher than Texas on the list. Talent development (NFL draft last three years ) Oregon 6 in 23, 1 in 22, 5 in 21; Ole Miss 4,6,2; Texas 5,0,5
In talent development Texas isn’t as good, record Texas isn’t as good, talent acquisition Texas as been good, state of program is subjective. NIL all three of these schools are good.
I’m not saying Texas isn’t a good program but they are not top five.
@@Sooner4Life28 bud you’re leaving out the 12 longhorns players that are in the draft this year and how high they are projected to go. With multiple being top 5 in their positions with multiple at 1 or 2. But I referred to the talent acquisition because that was the topic you were referring to. And state of the program is also dependent on trajectory of the team and Texas has had the better 3 year trajectory and improved year to year where as Ole miss and Oregon have been good but haven’t been improving very much on a year to year basis. Did we have a bad first year under Sark? Yes but we went from 5-7 to 8-5 to 12-2 with a conference championship and playoff berth
Oregon has been a playoff team Josh, best FSU in the first playoff. Lost to OSU in the championship 😢. Go Ducks 🦆🦆🦆
Are you forgetting that FSU won an actual national championship just 2 years prior to your ducks only winning that playoff game?
@@codyjump8142 I’m not sure what FSU winning championship 2 years prior has to do with informing Josh that Oregon HAS been to playoff before.
last year proved norvell can get in done w 6 year seniors and even then they were wildly overrated in the weakest major conference in college football
23-4 In the last 2 seasons keep hating
Florida St beat LSU by 3 touchdowns in season opener, and won 12 games by an average of 20 points. Every team in the power 5 had 6th year seniors
Cope
@@psfsu LSU had very few of those.
@@spacecoast4890 nope, just exposing casual takes
Ole Miss is 1-1 with Notre Dame. Oklahoma and Texas lost the last time they played Ole Miss !
In regards to your opinion on Texas Football.. I definitely agree with your take in terms of needing to see consistent results year after to year.. That being said I'm not 100% sold on the idea that this staff is worse than last years. Bo Davis leaving hurt initially, but Kenny Baker is a pass rush specialist and we've has almost no real pass rush these past few years which was exploitable by good teams. Not only that, but Bo Davis isn't the best recruiter on earth and Baker seems to have great energy on the recruiting trail. We'll just call that hire TBD for now. Now, as much as I loved Choat and wish him luck at Nevada, Johnny Nansen is an upgrade. He has a real recruiting presence in California and helped Arizona have an amazing season last year with a win over OU in the Alamo bowl. I'm also not a fan of the blanket statement that this years success will be determined by how good the transfers end up being.. They were great additions but the strength of this team will be Offensive Line(no transfers), QB, and our defensive secondary(one transfer). These past few recruiting classes under Sark have been different than prior regimes and people are in for a rude awakening if they think this is going to be the same ole texas let down from years past. The speed and athleticism on this roster is ridiculous. Also, remember the name Ryan Wingo ;)
Texas is on their way to being the #1 program. I'm not going to say they overtake Georgia.
Didn't horns DLine just have TWO national award winners?
Predictive:
1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Oregon
4. Texas
5. Florida State
6. Alabama
Pate literally said the same thing about Mario when he was at Oregon.
FSU has beat lsu two years in a row… and I’m way higher on fsu in the next 3 years than lsu
So just recency bias…
