This is such a great tutorial. I am 35 and have never been able to French braid my own hair. After watching your video, I was able to do it really well the first time I tried! For some reason I think it helped that I did not look in the mirror.

I've never been able to French braid, but I can do the normal braid. I've watched some French braid videos, so I know the idea and what to do, but just couldn't get the braid started; how much to hold, the position and figuring how to hold it etc. But this was very nice and simple and CLEAR! I think your daughter's fine sleek hair helped show each section so nicely. 😁 So, today I actually completed my first French braid and it wasn't too bad!! I'm very proud of myself and thank you THANK you for this video!! 🙏🤩🤗💓

Thank you so much for this video. I never learned how to French braid when I was younger and must of my friends knew how. I am a preschool teacher and I occasionally have to fix and if my girls hair and I usually do a quick ponytail. But now I have a 3 year old daughter and figure it's about time I learn how to French braid! Her hair had gotten long and she is always requesting princess Anna and Elsa braids..lol..thank you this video had been very helpful :-)
So I had watched this video back in 2015, and I cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. Yours is the best for beginners, so easy to understand. TH-cam has helped me become a pro in hairstyles and your video was the first one I watched. Even my friends used to ask me to braid their hair lol
My mom never did stuff like this for my sister and i so now that i have a girl i have no idea about anything hair style related really. Her hair goes to her waist and she will come home with it braided by her teacher who always does amazing so im trying to learn how to do it myself. I did finally did it! I watched so many other videos and still couldn’t get it. Now I know what to do. My daughters hair is very long down her back and curly so I had the brush and smooth every strand as I added it to the braid. I can finally do it after finding your video 😊. It was seeing your hands up close and how you hold the hair with it that helped me. Thank you sooo much.

wow this was the most straight forward video I've watched about french braids. Typically when people do it on themselves in tutorials and ti looks very confusing so watching this video with a different vantage point really helped me.

You aren't actually supposed to comb curly hair. Just keep it hydrated and use your fingers.

You are the first person i've seen on youtube to braid hair the way I do it: Crossing the hair over first, holding the 3 pieces in one hand and with the other hand adding hair into the already crossed over section. It's so much easier (i find) adding hair with one free hand rather than bringing a piece over and adding it to that or crossing it over after hair is added.

Try using a spray bottle or hairspray to hold down the flyaways and to tame the frizziness :)
