    Hopefully, you got better screws for Christmas. Nice job! I may have to make one of those, probably with a hole drilled in the bottom for rebar to keep it standing in the yard.

    a chisel for opening a paint can? hey! whatever is handy is what i use! ive got a paint can opener.....somewhere....hmmm....where did i put that? lol. ken...great looking snowman. ya wanna know my New Years resolution? get a #2 pencil, so i can get out in the shop and turn something!     Looks great, Ken. Use whatever to open paint cans as long as you can seal them when you're done. Does that #2 pencil go with the surgical striking tool?

      I reuse screws. They are strong decking screws.

    I did alot of awkward snowmen this year. Thats an awesome lathe. Can't wait for the day im able to get something that nice. What store did you get it from? Or online?

      The larger one I did this year it Pecan. The smaller one from last year is Ambrosia Maple.

    I thought everyone had a paint can opening chisel? I showed these to my wife and she gave me that yes please look.....

      They are super easy to turn and you can use a wet piece of wood because the more they crack the more rustic they look.

      @@MoonpieCreations it's a tupe of putty resin often just used as a pattern...but I've also seen it used as a contrast in filling big cracks. Be careful with fues if you use it though.

    Buy a $6, 2 foot long large blade flat screwdriver. Handiest tool in the shop. Save the wood chisel for splitting bricks. 😒
