@@AikidoScholar the sliding out technique definitely catches them off guard though, i managed to do it today when i was rolling. I recommend it!
Don't worry, when you're more experienced you'll still be stuck plenty in side control ;-)
If u can escape heavy side control, with ease, u can escape pretty much any position

I can't tell if you train or try to escape from that gym....but serious....great lesson and something I need to work on.

I was lucky enough to attend a seminar you all did when I was only 6 months into my jiu jitsu journey. I had no idea what I was walking into. Now I wish I had known a bit more just to understand how lucky I was for that opportunity! Thank you for that and thank you for this because I'm definitely still getting squished in side control lol

As a 315 lb power lifter that has not advanced my ground game past just smashing people with muscle and weight I feel like this is an attack on me. I don’t want to have to learn more stuff.

Why is the escape at 4:30 a silly escape? Is it because it uses a lot of strength and energy?
It's tough when the guy is aware, they can generally cover the hips and anchor down.
If you can offset and keep them moving this will work.
