I have watched several of your videos and the wet paper towel method was a game changer for me. It is very nerve wracking at first because when adding colors on top of the other colors you think what have I done lol. But thanks so much cuz it really helped me
Interesting. What materials are the joint compound & paints made of? I would think that would make a huge difference, for the psi compressive strength & adherence. I think some mixes could be good/ some bad, depending on composition of the materials.
I love that you added Eucalyptus greenery to this vase. Did you add the dry floral foam inside your vase for your greenery or are the stems just freely put inside?
Matte is just the finish of the paint. Like satin, eggshell, and gloss are all finishes. This is just spray paint, not chalk paint. Flat spray paint is often a cheaper alternative, but if you have chalk paint, you could use that too! 🖤🖤
I would think so, although I’ve never used it for this project. I would say just make sure you prep the pieces well and make sure you put down a base coat to give it something to adhere well too.
Thank you! Hmm good question. That would definitely require some thought because I wouldn’t want someone to mistake it for an authentic pottery piece from the photo.
I used a very lift tan color (almost like a clay), a deep green, and two browns. I would definitely say choose earthy tones for your project and make sure you choose all paints in a matte or flat finish. Shiny paint won’t make this look authentic. The stems are just some dried eucalyptus I had one hand. Good luck and have fun with your project!! 🖤
Please make sure your not destroying an expensive piece of depression glass (which I think this bowl might have been.) I mentioned it a little too late I guess. What a shame☹️
No worries, this vase didn’t have any of the indications I have been taught to look for to distinguish authenticity. At best, my guess is this would be a reproduction, not authentic depression glass. ☺️
One of the best tutorial I've seen on this topic. Thanks for the kitty fix as well. 🥰
Love the idea of mixing the paint with joint compound! Better results this way for sure! ✌💚🌺
Thank you! It definitely cuts down on having to do layers and layers trying to get texture ☺️
Hi Chelsea, love your work. Thanks so much from South Africa 💫
Thank you so much for the kind words! ☺️☺️
Very pretty. Great tutorial...
Luv the bottom of the paint can.
I love these flips. You can make them ur own. I don't ever buy the high end stuff. I just redo things to look high end. I really liked ur project.

Cool. Nice effect.
Thanks so much! 🤗
Very beautiful. Great job!
Did not know you could tint the joint compound. Good tip.
Yes! And it helps the process a lot if your project won’t be white.
Excelent!!!!
Love it!!💗
Thanks so much Jackie!!
god bless you dear friend and Merry Christmas
Fabulous!! I wonder if a matte sealer would be good to keep the dirt intact?

I’m so happy to hear you were able to find something helpful from my video! I have definitely had those what have I done moments too lol 🤗
Great work! I am going to copy your steps. One question: Can I mix the joint compound with Acrylic paint for the first layer?
Interesting. What materials are the joint compound & paints made of? I would think that would make a huge difference, for the psi compressive strength & adherence. I think some mixes could be good/ some bad, depending on composition of the materials.
What colored of folk art did you use?
U r looking amazing
Love your stool behind you
Very nice job. Did u use chalk paint?
No sanding required to spray with the first flat paint coat?
I love that you added Eucalyptus greenery to this vase. Did you add the dry floral foam inside your vase for your greenery or are the stems just freely put inside?
What combunds did u use to be thick?
Is matte paint chalk paint? I love this.

@@thisgirlathome I appreciate u answering g me. I now know what to use. 🙂
@@estherheming8836 good luck and have fun on your project!
Can the same effect be made with Plaster of paris? Cause I got of whole bucket of that...
I would think so, although I’ve never used it for this project. I would say just make sure you prep the pieces well and make sure you put down a base coat to give it something to adhere well too.
Beautiful.
If you were selling something like this, how would you advertise it?
Thank you! Hmm good question. That would definitely require some thought because I wouldn’t want someone to mistake it for an authentic pottery piece from the photo.
It turned out amazing. My brain doesn’t do well with random, it likes more concrete. But I am trying to work outside of my box
What colors were you using other than the black? Where did you buy the Stems?

@@thisgirlathome thank you so much!!
how did you prevent the spray paint from dripping?
Light coats! If your spray paint is dripping, you’re either spraying way too heavy in one area or too close to the vase.
Wondering which color black you used on the wall??
It’s Tricorn black! I use it all over my home ☺️
@@thisgirlathome Thank you!
❤❤❤❤
Yo me pregunto.... No da para un subtítulo en español 😮!!!!!!!!!!

instead of using your hands use a old paintbrush.
