I have been hunting fossils since I was really young also. I was very fortunate. I was born in Central Florida and my dad would hunt the phosphate mines every time he had a chance. He poured concrete for a living and it would usually start raining around 1 or 2 most days so he was always in the mines. People call it bone valley because there are so many fossil dugong bones and little sharks teeth everywhere. We would find Miocene animals. Lots of Megalodon shark teeth, Mastodon it was like heaven. We used to be able to drive right in, but it's gotten really bad, and they won't let anyone in because they are afraid of lawsuits. I had it made, and thought that I would always be aloud to roam freely around the mines. I took it for granted. You wouldn't believe the amount of sharks teeth you would find out there, and the most beautiful colors. I live in SC now and I scuba dive for fossils, but I really miss finding those rare Miocene animals. I had a friend who used to find fern fossils in Pennsylvania and sometimes he would find fossilized insects by splitting open the shale layers. I believe there are some cool Triassic footprints from Pennsylvania. I wish you the best luck hunting. Have fun and stay safe!
I don't understand why some people complain about the folders on your shelf not being perfectly straight like theirs. How can they even say that? And why do people who watch your videos care about that? Why do some people always want to control others to the point of telling you to change things in your own space to match their level of comfort? Who do they think they are? How can someone watch a video on the internet and feel unsettled just because something isn't perfect according to their standards? People need to understand that what happens in someone else's home is none of their business. If they feel uncomfortable with the way you have things arranged, they are the ones who need to change their behavior, not you.
There's Military Bases out near the desert too. I read a young pregnant woman went missing around Joshua Tree apparently there are Military Bases there.

I love to carry a smooth, round rock or a flat egg-shaped one. It is like a worry stone; it helps me with muscle tension and nerves! I live next to a gem/crystal/rocks store, across from the Natural History Museum in NYC. AWESOME
Had a pretty creepy experience last year about 5 miles west of there at a place on Pan American road. In late July parked by roadcut looking for rocks. Heard a knock. A single knock noise at first. Kind of hard to determine the direction it came from. Then another series of knocks. 3 of them. Seemingly from ahead of of us about 50 feet away. Then another series of knocks as we were walking the direction it was coming from. Hard to describe the noise. A knock like on a counter or table with things loose on it. Happened every time we walked forward and stopped. We decided to not follow it any further joking about the Hills have eyes etc. Middle of the morning about 10 AM. No wind. Sunny out. Not too hot. About 85 degrees. Didnt see any other people out there driving in or back out.
Hi David, I recently saw 411 on Tubi-both about the children and the more experienced hunters. I’d like to say as a person who was raised to question most things (especially with the powers that be) I appreciate your strength and tenacity. I may not be in the police field but I have to imagine how shocking it is to see such patterns through the “norm” (I.e. cases you’d normally see) and when I hear you talk about it, it’s like it’s haunting you, like it’s happened again. You’re a very strong person and a very good person. You care about these victims, you care about the external of what COULD be happening and it’s very important to even speak about the weird, no matter how impractical because, technically, our entire existence is impractical
I guess when people venture by themselves, can encounter a criminal, a wild animal or some weird circumstance that makes people disappear. I think it’s better to always pray and ask God for protection if you have decided to go by yourself to the woods, desert or wherever you go. Amen 🙏🏻
Dave i pray that at Phenomecon they have you participate at all discussion panels cause you bring a level of objectivity that is needed in these issues you address. Thank you for your always objective and insightful research.
A 'PLB' seems to be a good idea if you're going alone especially in a desert environment. No body was found? Ruling out quick sand there's only one answer. IMO.

I always love rocks and minerals and fossils! Rock hunting is my happy place!! That and trees, birds and stargazing lol but rocks are the best!
My Grandma collected rocks but no one ever let her go alone we would just sit drink pop and let her look off the side of the boondocks

Walked into the desert to collect rocks what could possibly go wrong 😐
Had a pretty creepy experience last year about 5 miles west of there at a place on Pan American road. In late July parked by roadcut looking for rocks. Heard a knock. A single knock noise at first. Kind of hard to determine the direction it came from. Then another series of knocks. 3 of them. Seemingly from ahead of of us about 50 feet away. Then another series of knocks as we were walking the direction it was coming from. Hard to describe the noise. A knock like on a counter or table with things loose on it. Happened every time we walked forward and stopped. We decided to not follow it any further joking about the Hills have eyes etc. Middle of the morning about 10 AM. No wind. Sunny out. Not too hot. About 85 degrees. Didnt see any other people out there driving in or back out.

Hi David, I recently saw 411 on Tubi-both about the children and the more experienced hunters.
I’d like to say as a person who was raised to question most things (especially with the powers that be) I appreciate your strength and tenacity.
I may not be in the police field but I have to imagine how shocking it is to see such patterns through the “norm” (I.e. cases you’d normally see) and when I hear you talk about it, it’s like it’s haunting you, like it’s happened again.
You’re a very strong person and a very good person. You care about these victims, you care about the external of what COULD be happening and it’s very important to even speak about the weird, no matter how impractical because, technically, our entire existence is impractical
These stories are going to make me afraid to go hiking

I guess when people venture by themselves, can encounter a criminal, a wild animal or some weird circumstance that makes people disappear.
I think it’s better to always pray and ask God for protection if you have decided to go by yourself to the woods, desert or wherever you go.

I worked north of there at great basin natl park. Incredibly desolate in that area. Maybe he accidentally walked onto goverment land and got picked up by camo dudes?
