    Why don't more people film this way??? The GoPro looking down at the board is brilliant! This is what the skater "sees" and instantly shows foot position without a weird "side view." Thanks!

    Very well explained video, but I think some of these are actually pretty difficult compared to other no comply tricks. I personally think these are easier (all no comply): shuvit, fakie shuvit, nollie shuvit, strawberry milkshake, fakie bigspin, fakie 180 body varial, and underflip. No comply 180's can be tough if you haven't got the shoulder motion of a regular 180. Just my opinion though! Everyone is different, so hopefully this helps anyone looking for some more easy no comply tricks.

      Actually, with the wrong timing, no comply tricks can be quite the trick to trip over. But obviously they're still very easy tricks once you get them. They're also a lot of fun to do because of the low skill level required. They also don't take massive energy like some other tricks that may look 20 times more impressive, but are kind of tricks you can only do a dozen of before being too tired to do anything else. At least, that's seems true for most.

      Yeah, I'm worried about my shins.

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hitting the knee happens when 1. the front foot getting off the board is too close to the middle of the board and too close to the board edge and 2. when the timing and balance change from back foot to front foot is off. Once you get that timing down, you'll never hit your front foot knee anymore. It also involves commitment jumping on the board fairly quickly again, which means you back foot stays on properly the whole time.

    It was Nata's bro that's who started it..I just started skating again at 46 and nocomplys that I can still do, they are a blast esp to tail stalls on curbs This is a video of my buddy Greg Wilkins, th-cam.com/video/svRfUCa7D_8/w-d-xo.html he moved from our home town in OR to california back in 1990ish and I lost touch. Its cool cause its a personal window to share with my sons. I had no video of my skating but I can show my kids my buddy Greg, we were pretty freaking good back then and he was killing it.
    The dude even looked like Nata's 😂 There were some sick skaters that missed out on going pro ..."The right place and right time" is what Steve Cab and Mike Vallely talk about in their 9 club interviews and that's so true.
    I think Greg could of went pro but life takes us down different paths, I have no idea where he is now . I know I could of gone pro but life went different ways for me to . When Greg moved I got freaking depressed cause that jock town SUCKED. I had heard he got sponsored finding this vid has been so cool.
    Supposedly they are raising money for a new park and like to be there when its done. I love skating and wish I had never quit but I'm blessed to still be able to skate so no complaints man . Anyways man I love watching your vids its helped inspire me to skate again.

    so, I saw several tutorials on how to no comply, but really not a single one on how to do a regular no comply. not a 180 no comply, but regular, like ollie. I think that 180 is actually much easier though, and probably that's why usually people start from it.

      Move your backfoot further forward, don't have it too far back or your board will pop up. Also I recommend trying tricks like no comply shuvits, fakie no comply shuvits, and no comply nollie shuvits. They are very easy compared to a no comply 180, with far less chance of hitting your shins with the board.

    no complies did not pre date ollies historically

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Actually, they definitely did! The earlier stuff was mostly grab related boneless style stuff. But during the same time no comply tricks popped up. People may think no comply tricks are a modern invention because of how popular they are right now. But that would be incorrect. Similarly pressure flips predate the ollie as well actually, which is pretty crazy knowing what type of flips the board does. People seem not very aware of the earlier freestyle tricks people did (toe flips, pressure flips, half flips that get cancelled and so on, some board dancing, lots of manuals etc), some of which predate even the extraordinary Rodney Mullen. For what it's worth, some people also did the much earlier 'footplant' trick with a slight jump in vert. Some would consider those boneless tricks too now. In the early days, especially around 1978 to 1982 there is just not that much video footage of everything that was invented. I'm sure Rodney invented the ollie, but people shouldn't be surprised if around the same time others came up with the same solutions. There's a lot that transitioned from vert skating to street. And if John Lucero is to be believed, he pretty much came up with the no comply by doing bonelesses without using his hands. In terms of time frame it definitely predates the ollie. It makes sense anyway, as it's really super easy and yet another bunch of tricks you can use to get onto curbs (aside from the boneless). Keep in mind that the ollie was something done in vert only (by Alan Gelfand, as early as 1976) until like 1981 when Rodney did them on flat.

    I was popping 180 Ollie mute grabs nearly four feet off flat ground tweaked out like a rubber person years before the no comply. 360 flips, 360 Ollies, 360 Ollies while kickflipping. Seriously, heel flips and all those tricks came first. If you are going to speak about skating done before you were born you might want to go beyond thinking like a Victorian age archeologists and actually learn the history before making wild declarations about the evolution of complexity of yesteryear. By the way, the world’s not flat either.
