I luv ur personality. Pls don't grow up & lose that fun approach to things. Your videos always cheer me up when I'm in pain &/or discouraged. Luv ur demos. Jewell
These cards are simply gorgeous!! I love to watch artists and crafters whose style is totally different from mine. When I watch Lindsay create, I prepare myself for a journey and I completely relax. And most of the time I know, I`m in for an adventure. Thank you for all your wonderful, priceless and timeless inspiration. Josi
Lindsay, I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos, you are very inspiring. Never imagined the amount of money one could spend if I didn't watch your lessons in frugal purchasing or crafting. Look forward to every video. Hope to someday meet you, whether it's at your store in Maine or at a Stamp Show.
What a striking card!! I never knew why they made such light colored pens. Now I do. You teach me so much. I just thank you for all of the creativity you have stimulated in me.
To make use of the second side of the two-sided paper: scan it with a color scanner and print it out! This is a great way to capture patterned paper that can't be found any more. Of course, you don't want to do this with any project for sale, only for personal use, due to copyright issues. Thanks for all the tutorials; I used to play with all this years ago, but I lost motivation and inspiration for a long while. Now I'm ready to jump in again, and these clever and frugal techniques are sparking ideas in my head. You've got a new subscriber!
Hi lindsey thank you for your tips :) i hated double sided paper but my tip for you. You can peel the paper in two if your careful it wont break to much good for grungy style. If not you can cut it in half and put one part one way and the other part the reverse way that way you get both:) it saves alot of costs as you get double the amount for your money.
I bought some cheap photo paper at Dollar Tree a long time ago just because it was there. I had no idea what to do with it - now l know!! Thanks Lindsay. Hugs...
I love your videos and have been watching you for years! You are an awesome artist, fun and watching you always brightens my day. I do miss Elaine and Kathy and your "Ask a Crafter" segments. Thanks for continuing to teach and entertain. Big hugs.
Dear Lindsay, you always have so many interesting ideas and projects. May I suggest color photocopying favorite patterned papers to preserve the originals? This way you still have the originals, and they can be copied onto different colored and textured papers for collage, card making, or whatever. Have a good week!
WOW! Learned something new today on the envelope. Gonna have to try that. I do have and envelope punch but this is a fast way to throw one together and there isn't much to figure out on the measurements. Beautiful cards.
Okay. Let me say this must be witchcraft! This video just can't be real. LOL YOU ARE AMAZING!! This video and card just blew me away. All I did was google "cards with glossy cardstock" and I found you and this video. By the time you were putting on the shaggy twine and how it matched the seaweed I thought my mind was just gonna blow! AMAZING. Thanks for the envelope instruction. Love it. So glad I found ya and can't wait to go back and watch old videos and look forward to new!! I'm officially a new, dedicated subscriber. WooHoo
Thanks Lindsey, I've been collecting photo papers on sale and at garage sales and had no idea if it was the same as glossy paper like I thought it may be. Good to know they are different but still usable with dye inks.
Love the cards! Now I wish I hadn't gotten rid of my photo paper when my printer died. Lol I'd forgotten about the envelope trick. Thanks for sharing it again. Hugs, Shell
Very cool idea. Both cards turned out really nice. I have photo paper from the Dollar Store which isn't very good for printing your photos. However, this might be a good thing to do with them. I'll have to give it a try. Being "frugal" is awesome!
Thank you for the tips! I have a few leftover trims from cutting off the excess of printed photos and wanted to use the paper for something. I planned to use for texture in some mixed media projects, but this is helpful to know for cards. I love the envelope making process, too! Thank you again! :)
Wow I love it! Now I know what to do with the pack of photo paper I have sitting in my desk! I have so many ideas now! Thank you for always making awesome videos! I love all your work!
Thanks for the tip on the excess photo paper. I hate wasting it and im afraid to send it through the printer with odd sizes. Love the goldfish and overall color scheme. Thanks, as always.
Love this idea. I just printed out some photos and was thinking of what to do with the left over photo paper. lol Thank you for the great idea. :D Love how easy you made your envelope.
It looked as if the Pitt Pen took the shine off of the paper. It was a neat effect when you were showing the finished card, and the fish were catching the light, but not the background!
TFS. I have loads of 'leftover' photo paper .....now I know what to do with it. Did try alcohol inks and they work to an extent but they dry too quickly. Now I know why ;-)
Wonderful idea to use photo paper with your markers. Your cards look so lovely! I noticed that you were touching the photo paper with your hand after you made the card. Will finger marks occur on your beautiful card creation?
Hello! New follower, love love love your videos!! Question about the pigment inks on photo paper, instead of just straight pigment, would embossing work on this type of paper? I would think heating it from the back would be best so you dont ruin the glossy effect. I havent gotten a chance to go through all your videos yet, do you have suggestions for the best paper cardstock etc etc for pigment inks and embossing? Could you do a video just about that if you dont already have one?! Thanks a bunch! Hugs Candace
Gorgeous card and a great tutorial - love the colors and Graphic 45 is the best! I found a box of glossy photo paper on clearance and bought it thinking I'd use it for alcohol ink and now I can't remember if you recommended it for AI or not! LOL! Well, at least I know what I CAN do with it (if I don't forget). Thank you so much for Stamp School. Is there really a tool for getting cards into envelopes? Thanks Lindsay and take care!
+E-4-eclectic there are many nice envelope tools. Score pal has one to fit in their scoring board. , we r memory keepers has the punch boards and crafter's companion has the envelobox . I also like green sneakers kreatealope
Hi Lindsay, I love your videos and your energy. I'm struggling with watercolor. I purchased Ranger Archival Waterproof ink, stamped my images, let them dry one or two days and as I watercolored, the black ink STILL smudged into the images, HELP ME! What am I doing wrong? I used strathmore watercolor paper, faber castelle watercolor pencils and a waterbrush. Feeling so frustrated, thanks for any tips, Michelle
+Mom05able you know, that is not right, I'd email ranger and see about getting a replacement because that should not happen. My Archival never smears with watercolor.
hi lindy my 7 year old daughter loves to watch your videos (as do I!!!) she has asked if you could do a puffin card please? many thanks sam and Erin xxx
I did something similar a while back, I found that dye inks sinks under the top coat (stays glossy) and water based pens and watercolor stays on top of the top layer (mat finish). For Embossing I suggest to use a juicy embossing ink pad and not the pen form. The liquid in the pen form is thinner than the ink pads and don't leave such a great effect. For examples you can check it out on my blog (in Dutch hihihi): hobbyalternatief.blogspot.nl/2015/10/fotopapier-als-glanzend-karton.html
Is that stamp pad alcohol based? I heard you say it was a dye, not pigment. Is there an easy way to tell which pads are alcohol based vs water based? I recall seeing a video you did where you talked about different brands of stamp pads, comparing them so you could tell which ones would stay put & not smear with watercolors, and with alcohol inks/pens too I think? When shopping, even in the stores, yet especially online, many ink pads don't say what their base is! It would seem alcohol based used with water shouldn't run, yet some prolly still do, and water-based should stay (or might?) if using alcohol over them? Pigments sit on top, so dyes Might be preferred, BUT pigments tend to be lightfast, dyes not as much. It would be great if they put what you can use over them without smears (& be accurate!), but it seems illusive! Any idea which video the stamp comparisons are in? I'm going to have to try some of these stamps for cards one day! I have quite a few stamps I've bought over about a year! Time to start using them!!! I have a few mini stamp pads, but don't know which they'll stay put with (if either water or alcohol!) I've used acrylic paints with home made foam stamps, but they aren't great with stamps that have intricate designs. I'd love yo use some with watercolors, some with alcohol inks, but prolly need to buy the right kind... ideally one that's light-fast that I can use with either watercolors or alcohol inks over them, or under them! Thanks! I want to check out those fish stamps! Very pretty!
I luv ur personality. Pls don't grow up & lose that fun approach to things. Your videos always cheer me up when I'm in pain &/or discouraged. Luv ur demos. Jewell

This looks like a fun thing to try and turns out so pretty! WooHoo! I"m browsing through the oldies!!!!

Lindsay, I never heard of water color markers, just water color pencils. What brand are you using here. I don't know what to buy. Thanks
+Deirdre Powers I am using several brands. You can even use crayola! I like memento, tombow, spectrum aqua and zig.
Thank you - I have been wondering how to 'recycle' all of the un-used photo paper.
Fantastic idea for photo paper use. I have wasted so much of it but now I won't
nice, now i can use up that photo paper that's collecting dust ! thanks
hi lindy my 7 year old daughter loves to watch your videos (as do I!!!) she has asked if you could do a puffin card please? many thanks sam and Erin xxx
What kind of glu and glu gun are you using
+Linda Julius Surebonder high temp and all purpose glue sticks for hot glue and the ATG gun for other adhesive
awesome... thank you
