It's so much better at night, it really is. In my opinion, the ride isn't much scarier during the day as it is at night!

It’s said/ rumored , that the ending isnt finished. They say by December they will update the t-Rex and the ending to make it less awkward... we shall see if they pull through

ANGRY TIGER yea they’re adding a better ending to it where the IRex tries to attack you before the drop. Should be on by January.

I can't believe they wasted the chance to use the mosasaur properly on a WATER ride. Have it stalk the boats in the predator cove section

instead they decided to give wrong info on it with a sign that reads "An aquarium fit for a dinosaur". When it is NOT a dinosaur.

the final trex timing seemed a little off I would think it would charge you when you got closer. I just kinda gave you the time to notice it looks like it was floating
Thats always been the case with that T.Rex. They didnt do anything to remedy it.

Frank and Radhika Review I think the problem is more of a recent thing. I seem to remember the older videos of the ride had a waterfall that she emerged behind from, as well as fog surrounding the drop.

Rock work and trees inside of a building and a levitating T-Rex.
I can’t defend them not adding some cover to the Rex, but the trees and rocks do make sense. The conveyor up says it’s T. Rex Kingdom. In the film, both when the kids go to the show and when Claire frees it, the Rex is inside an enclosure that mimics its habit, with a forest and everything.

I was not into the levitating T-Rex
lighting has been adjusted significantly so everything makes sense - T rex doesnt look like hes floating.
You can't actually see it's legs when you ride it. Not sure why all the videos are showing that. I went on a few days ago and the bottom half of it were completely in the dark.

I hate how the predator cove section has nothing in it. They should’ve added an actual pteranodon and the head of the indominus Rex peeking though the paddock.

Spicy Cow it doesn’t even look like hard work, the original ride was hard work and the story of the ride flowed perfectly unlike this ride. This ride was a literal re-skin of the original with 2 new animatronics while they removed more. If you are going to update or make a new ride, be innovative and take time with it.

Spicy Cow no I never said that, I am definitely going to ride this attraction because it still is somewhat enjoyable, but it is disappointing. It is not bad but it is full of potential and I feel Ike if they added one or two more dinosaurs in those empty spaces, then this ride would be great

Hmm hope your right. I think Predator cove lacked big time. You get thrown into PC and see the destruction of the entrance and the buildup to see anything scary is too long. They need more in it definitely. Also they need to fix the ending Dino at the drop, its floating looks off they need to add maybe a ledge or a waterfall to hide how he floats.

@@WaloWaloson well they had a deadline to meet which was this summer and if they opened in august as opposed to july they just missed peak season so they had to open it whether it was fully finished or not to get some hype on it but yeah indominus is getting an upgrade and PC is getting done. Along with Secret life of pets opening next year and Nintendo land in 2 years Universal is finally running disney for their money

srvfan42 I just want the countdown back, that gave it a lot of suspense.
The best part of the original ride was at the start, when the gates opened to the Jurassic Park theme song and the first thing you see is the Brontosauras rise up from the river. That part brought me chills as a kid. It reminded me of the scene from the movie. That feeling is totally lost in this new ride. It's soulless.
And also, add some gosh darn shrubbery or something at the T-rex's feet so it doesn't look like it's floating. I understand they have it coming out earlier so it seems like it's saving you from the other dinosaur, but it just looks so dumb floating there.
They could have just totally removed Predator cove and added more peaceful dinos. *Cough* Brontosauras *cough*. That entire section is so bland and completely fails at building any kind of tension. Just give us more dinos!
This ride totally crapped all over my childhood. Not worth the 3 hour wait.
They are closing the ride in November to add more Dino's due to guest feedback

I agree 100%. But you have to hand it to them. They really did an amazing job, if only the T-Rex came from the opposite side of the Indominus Rex.. Might have a better impact on that drop and tells a better story. With the original story it all flowed well, one scene after another. This one just doesn't feel like it flows all that well. Still an amazing accomplishment on Universal Studios.
Actually the mosasure scene is better than the brontosuaras scene.

Rasmus Elo Jensen the Harry Potter cast was there for the opening of the hadrig ride in Orlando when I was there. I didn't get to meet them sadly, but they were in my hotel.
That's so cool that Chris Pratt was there. Would have loved to see that. Also, I heard rumors as a kid that the dinosaur chased the boat in the original? Was that ever true?

It’s so great seeing a lot of the old ride still being utilized. I thought this was gonna be one of those all digital screen rides, but there’s still a lot of JP in JW. And I never know they had a full T-Rex at the end. I always thought it was just the head coming out of the waterfall.
This ride looks so much better at night. I need to experience this.

Orlando overall has taken better care of their rides. Hollywood is in save-face mode...which is ironic considering that Orlando is twice as big as Hollywood...

I miss the countdown before the drop. It always make me nervous. This just felt flat with no anticipation whatsoever. Just two dinosaurs roaring then drop.

I agree with you guys. They need to add some thing in PC and after that awful tank screen... under the waterfall because it also has nothing!
Wish they would have changed the ride up more. It's exactly the same as the Jurassic park ride in Orlando with just one added sequence at the beginning. It makes much more sense to theme this ride more to the Jurassic World movie with the Indominus Rex and pterodactyls being the main enemies. I also still prefer the concept of placing the riders in the Gyrosphere vehicles.

Sunsetter678 yeah and at the end u fall from a 80 something feet drop that just goes straight down for like 80 seconds also I went in with a t shirt and it was pretty cold so I would recommend wearing a sweater or something and be patient with the long line

When was the last time Universal actually spent decent money on a ride? When this opened in the 90s it was a state-of-the-art, immersive experience! Now it just feels like they scrapped all the stuff they didn't feel like maintaining, replaced the empty space with flat screen TVs, and called it a night. Aren't they doing really well financially? Why does it look like this "update" was a cost-cutting measure if there's more money coming into the company than ever before? Ugh.

Universal studios and Disney world rides are always cooler to ride at night.
Also the tyrannosaurus comes out way to early, it’s way more immersive when your about to drop and then he comes out.

I remembered it being quite dark and scary when the T-Rex finally emerged at the end of the old ride before the drop but all I can think of with this new one is "It's floating in the air...Is it supposed to look like that?"

Looks awesome at night, too! I have a suggestion: When the boat climbs up the ramp to T-rex Kingdom, do you think the addition of a pachycephalosaurus, the head-butting dinosaur, would be suitable towards the left side of where the former velociraptor used to be? My idea is to have it ram through the barred walls as the boat escalates while Owen warns guests through the TV monitors.

I think the lighting is better in predator cove...the finale Has improved from past vids I saw. But I think they rock wall is a bit high...it would be nice if we could see more of Indo’s body the closer we got to the drop. I think seeing it move into our eyesight is better than just seeing it just stand there from a distance.
I’m going on the 24 this month and was going yesterday but couldn’t but it’s fine can’t wait to go and ride the ride for the first time... been so many times and miss the old one but this seems so cool
Ugh so many screams. It's a 2 foot fall at the start. Why scream over literally everything? It breaks the immersion. So many people into themselves and not the ride.

I wonder where the person inside the Blue suit sees from? Usually with those types of suits it’s the neck, but the neck is pointed down so I’m not sure about this one. That could have been why they were rearing up so much, to see.

I think they failed big time. Especially in the building makes no sense at all. You are going into a high-tech building and ends up like you are in a fake jungle. WTF! Even the T-rex is visible and he can fly? He also comes out way to early. This is a big no no for me :(
You're supposed to be in the fake jungle where they kept the T. Rex in the first Jurassic World movie. Rexy floating has always been an issue too lmao
Tbh I went on this and its WAY different in person. His camera picks up so much in the last scene. When you actually ride it its WAY darker and the t-rex is harder to see that it is floating.

The best animatronic is the animatronic of blue walking tbh, it's the only animatronic that has a lot of movement.
Not that much different. Just slap on a few screens get rid of a couple old aesthetics and that's the new ride.

Looks incredibly dull compared to what it replaced. The final act is fine, but man... the transition from being a imaginative/informative ride to Survival mode is executed incredibly poorly. And alot of the filler in between seems very bland as if they replaced the animatronics in favor of Bryce Dallas Howard's face. Definitely a cash grab attempt to stay relevant.
