Hi Leila , I want to study this certificate but I wanna know about the housing if you can help me giving me information about it .. how are you doing with the housing .. thank you
Hey Leila, Love your videos thank you! I am currently applying for a certificate and I have a question about the Health insurance; did you take the one that UCLA recommend (800 dollars per quarter) or another one? If you took the one from UCLA would you recommend it? Thanks!
Thank you so much for all these info! I graduated from Political Science department but I want to be a graphic designer and I consider applying to UCLA Extension Design Communication Arts Program. Do you think I can find a job in LA as a graphic designer after this program? Or should I look for a degree program related to graphic design and study for 4 more years? I'd appreciate it if you could give an advice. Thank you so much
It's a very difficult question with the money..everyone's needs are different. If we don't take school expenses into consideration I spent about $850 for apartment, I would say $1000 per month would be a minimum to spend on food, phone, clothes, occasional lunch or coffee out. And to network - check out all the facebook events (at ucla or in the field you are interested in, for example I went to the events by social media club LA, found them on FB), go work at the Hammer museum for at least one quarter - you meet other ucla extension students there - great experience, talk to people in your classes, the list goes on :) just be open and sociable!
hey Leila, was thinking to apply to digital marketing too at ucla extension. can you tell me how difficult is it to get a job after this certificate? did you find a job of your choice?
Hey Leila, I had two questions. It would be great if you could help out. I also want to apply for Marketing with Concentration in Digital Marketing. 1) The entry requirements and GPA 2) The duration of the course. Thanks and regards, Sunoyna Roy
There are no GPA requirement as far as I'm concerned, only for when you are already in the program your GPA shouldn't be lower than certain grade (but in my opinion it's hard to fail classes at extension)..English skills should be on certain level, they have it on their website. If your TOEFL or IELTS score is not high enough, they just ask you to enrol into the English class course for your first quarter (you need to pay for the course). The official length of the program is 3 quarters (about 9 months) and then you get OPT. But there is a way to extend the program (I did 5 quarters), if that's something you want to know about I could tell you more - let me know :)
Thx for all the great tips in putting this together I am actually thinking about enrolling this course. Is fall semester a great time to start and I couldn't find the deadline for enrollment. Can you shed some light? And also would it be possible to email you and stay in touch with you
I think there is no difference which quarter is your first one (aside from some seasonal fluctuations on the apartment market, but that's not a biggie). Here is a link www.uclaextension.edu/study-abroad-programs/dates-and-fees . But what I really recommend you do is this: if you have any questions about the enrollment process and can't seem to find answers on the website, don't be afraid to call international office, they are nice and it's their job to help - here's a number 800-825-9971 . You can definitely keep in touch with me on instagram, link in the description of the video
Unfortunately, there is no official assistance in searching for jobs, but there are a lot of resources UCLA provides that can help. Firstly, once you are enrolled into the program you can register on the website called handshake, they post job openings from the companies that are UCLA partners. Secondly, you can come into the UCLA Career Center, where they can help you with your resume, give you tips and suggestions and direct you with your job search. Plus every quarter there is a UCLA Job Fair (which I am going to tomorrow btw), where you can network with potential employers and find internships and jobs.
Very useful tips, please post more of UCLA Extension program videos, thank you!
thanks Laila, very useful for me as im now thinking of online program for certificate in UX) all the best from Moscow ❤️
Thanks for your information!!!
Привет, Лейла! Интересно!👍👍👍 Жду твоих новых видео.😁
Can we work part time as an International extension student?
It's expensive! I was fortunate to receive a scholarship, but my program has no internship component which I wish it had.

I wanted to ask. Say you’re coming in and you don’t know anyone.
How much money will you need and can you network
