Go to the scrap yard, fill it fully except for drivers seat, people can’t believe it, was going to get a convertible but that trunk is not good at all, although it would have been great for tracks requiring helmets, oh well, overall the main reason for this car is because of a small garage , don’t really like parking outside so this allows freedom to go in and out to do things, no problem, plus after driving stick for many years in a traffic plagued city the six speed auto-was chosen to suit the lifestyle of its care giver, other than brakes and a few little things flawless so far

Mods to be done: Corsa Forza lower frame brace if they can help me with *properly* mounting the skid plate to it. Also planning to redo the suspension which is very rusty from five years of winter driving but still good for two more years when it'll need to be replaced anyway just from age. The new suspension will raise the car a little bit to better survive Canadian winter roads and eventually transform it into a rally car. I'll also eventually add Abarth side decals and red mirror covers, but that's not a high priority. That’s one of the first thing everyone says to my brother when he bought a Abarth 500... CUTE. That’s his reaction ->🤨 He done a lot of mods to his car but unfortunately after 1 year of owning it he sold it cause of all the things he read on the forums about the car. I just posted a short video of his Abarth before he sold it. Check it out bro👍🏽
@@PerformanceOnWheels I’m not hating bro. He had to sell it cause of what he has been told on the forums about the Abarth. Similar to all the things u said on your video.
Ohhhhhhh I read that wrong my bad thought you where talking about me didn't see that it said your brother my apologies. But yes I read all the fourms and like i said in the video it was an absolute blast to own but definitely not a long term car in my opinion.

I mean as long as you don't beat the crap out of the car, you should be just fine however just know it will.be more expensive to fix than say a Fiesta ST and it will most likely be in the shop more than the average car. However it's still pretty realible. I personally for a daily driver wouldn't do it even though it's an absolute blast
Yeah I bought it for 6... Sold it for 9. Market has shot up a ton on them. Corvettes are kinda the same way. Wish I would have bought the car I have now when I bought the fiat. It went from being 17-20k to 25-35k.

It's not dodge engine he come from the original Fiat F.I.R.E(fully integrated robotized engine) that engine if the timing belt broke the valve will not bend has meccanism to prevent that its a marvelous of engineers 😊
Not nearly as bad no the abarth is just a bit more exclusive so big components are easy to get for it but stuff like a cv axle.. took excessive time. Alot more normal 500s where built so much easier to get parts for and higher demand so lower prices
Wow, like you said kind of "sad" your 1st car is going away. Those Fiat 500 models will always be called "cute" cars, not something most car guys want, lol. Too bad never got a chance to race it with my Ford Taurus SHO. I too have heard some parts for those cars are extremely hard to get. Your Abarth model is very rare to find! Here in Minnesota, I really don't even see many regular Fiat 500 cars. With them all being so tiny/small, very tight or non-existent storage (unless rear seat is deleted), certainly not the most practical of small, micro cars + not too affordable to own as issues arise. Look forward to seeing your new RWD 400 horsepower ride!
@@PerformanceOnWheels, sadly I don't have my 2010 Ford Taurus SHO anymore. Cylinder #5 went out, blew engine oil out the tailpipe. So disappointed as I loved the car, put a decent amount into it + had future plans for it too. I will likely "modify" my new ride, but it won't be nearly as fast as your upcoming 400+ "stock" horsepower RWD ride.
I just recently bought a 500 abarth cabriolet, I want to make it last. I also really want to make it louder but unfortunately don't know too much about cars. Any tips?
@@PerformanceOnWheels I bought one just for the hell of it, does it take much away from the mpg? And does it smell? Also I watched some other vids with a decat and it doesn't sound as poppy as yours do I need a whole new exhaust for that?
The pops came from the piggy back racechip tune I had. Not a pop tune just a piggyback. Nothing is taken from mpg and the smell is definitely there however did not bother me from inside
It's not very easy actually. You can get a fairly expensive aftermarket seat bracket. Than you have to get a fairly expensive adjustable steering column. Than you can barely see over the dash.
I dont understand why theres no Abarth Facelift for the US market. The Facelift Bumpers looks way more aggressive. Another point is the Multijet Engine for the US market, the Turbo Jet Engine for the European market has much less issues. Greetings from Germany
The T-Jet engine is pretty strong. It's supposedly race proven to 140k miles. Parts are hard to get in the UK too, even though they are quite common here and still made using mostly the same parts! Pretty much everything has to be shipped from Italy to order and often you can only buy complete units, not individual bushes etc. Luckily there are some aftermarket parts which are better.
People just say that about small cars in general whether its a Fiat or any other brand. I would take the word "cute" as a compliment and keep it moving.
@@PerformanceOnWheels well that would be a problem obviously because you are a dude! Besides it's a total different situation calling a person cute and a car cute. You are comparing apples to oranges. You are too sensitive dude, relax man!
@@PerformanceOnWheels 😃 Anyway I loved your Abarth man. I worry about some of the same things you mentioned in your video regarding reliability, parts etc. However I will buy one regardless as soon as the prices come down a bit. I figure I can take a chance because you only live once!
That's not a Dodge engine. Keep hearing that but it's not true. The exact same engine is used in several European models as well, including the Punto Evo severally Alfas we didn't get in the US, as well as in the 124, 500L and X as optional engines. Also only the head is different between the multiair and the tjet so many parts are interchangeable. The engine is produced in the US for the north american market but is 100% a Fiat designed engine. That said the axle situation is ridiculous.

It's gotta be German. I'm thinking BMW?
Z06? 🤔
Not german....
your too young, when you will grow up youll stop carring what people think. fact, older car guys know that the best cars are usualy not the "manliest" just to say miata is reknown for being one of or the best driver car yet alot of man call them hairdresser cars or talk them down on manliness. its just BS you shouldnt care about
Now eveyone thinks I bench 500 lbs because I drive a ctsv
the leather seats sit higher and the cushion is stiffer then the cloth seats
The shifter location looks weird... but when you start driving... it's very well located. Just inches from the wheel...
That is very accurate. Looks unnatural. Feels very natural
so sad your selling it.. I check your channel every week for a new abarth video. doesnt help that mine is now parked for the winter so i cant even enjoy it on my own. cant wait to see what you replace it with though...
It was alot of fun owning it for the summer. It will definitely be missed. I'm quite excited for its replacement for sure😊
I just like having a new experience every year
Your car pops and bangs like that with no tune and just a catless downpipe ?
It has a piggy back tune that just turns up the boost but yet by just fluttering the throttle it pops like so
Sounds like it needs a retune. Sounds like a hell of a miss fire
Its the same exact engine that is in the Dodge Dart 1.8T. Just don't break an axle. Or your transmission. Or your headlights. Or.....
🤣
autozone and oreillys has the axles for the abarths for less than $120
Nice review, I’ve owned mine just over 2yrs. I hate it, yet I love her. I have the benefit of owning a normal car aswell. Dude your eyes filled up! Buy a European import ;-) cheap and quick parts
I ended up getting a ctsv and I'm loving it! Hoping to trade for a vette soon. Abarth will always have a spot in my heart however. I loved that car
It is cute, that’s why I love it. No one expects it.
why even buy it if you don't enjoy the cuteness fr
I'm built differnt.
"I did everything to make the car look mean."
My brother in Christ, you bought a FIAT 500.
I dont have a single problem with mine lol do get check engine lights ever now and then but they go away
👍
what mileage did you buy yours? im in the UK and wanna get one so bad, the cheapest one i saw was 4000 with 70k miles? is that too much
Nothing gets you over this better than the next one.....
Feels like the first time.
Thanks for hating!
@@PerformanceOnWheels haha it’s okay bro. My brother enjoyed building that car & rarely u never see these cars roaming around so it does attract a lot of attention in the road👍🏽 I’m a new subscriber to your channel & looking forward to watch all the contents u post up.
Go check out what I replaced it will! It was supposed to be a corvette...
Gross. If I'd destroyed that beautiful italian tuned exhaust note with whatever the hell you did to this car I'd want to sell it too. What a complete disaster.
(Tuned exhaust note)? It's stright piped from the factory? There's nothing tuned about it. All I did was a turbo downpipe
@@PerformanceOnWheels Welp, all I knows is a stock Abarth is delightful music.
Mine sounded identical to stock but was a bit louder
You sold it for 9000usd!?!? How much did you spent on the upgrades may I ask?
Yes I did About 2k
You got it for a really good price in the first place @ 5800usd. Damn... I just bought mine with high miles for 9K (it is a cabriolet, which makes it super rare) I absolutely love it! Anyway, big fan of your videos! I’m gonna send you some photos of it on Instagram if I could find yours☺️
I'm glad you enjoy my videos!!! Sure I'd love to see the pictures. My Instagram is AustinPaseka our channels is Performance_on_wheels
I think cute is a compliment, however while it's running I never hear that lol
I love my '17 124 spider abarth. Same engine but most everything else I can just get off a miata
That's one of the most fun cars Ive ever driven and they look fantastic love the 124!
Whole car and it's front looks like KAREN BEFORE giving in her deep inside rage mode 😊
Lol
4:02 "let me record this part in a dead silent parking structure with great accoustics to amplify the noise"
You should read minds
I totally took care of the cuteness problem, my car looks VERY aggressive 🤙
Widebody?
You will be amazed how much this car changes with custom headlights, rear diffuser, side skirts and front double lip splitter.
Also replacing the corny u.s. taillights with the euro version.
Yeah... I wasn't wanting to invest that much but you are definitely right they can look very mean with that done
Common car here in uk u got a good price on it they jeep value quite well similar to golf gti
It's pretty wild how common they are there to how rare they are here
Sounds like you or someone else was driving the turbo hard before being warmed up or were mashing the pedal in low rpms
Is this a reliable car for daily driving and commuting to work and school?
I'm not sure I'd say it's the most reliable thing out there but it should get you to and from for sure
@@PerformanceOnWheels alright. I just wanna get a car that's more on the fun side but not terrible on has and insurance
@@PerformanceOnWheels so you wouldn't reccomend it for a college student working for around 13 an hour?
I mean as long as you don't beat the crap out of the car, you should be just fine however just know it will.be more expensive to fix than say a Fiesta ST and it will most likely be in the shop more than the average car. However it's still pretty realible. I personally for a daily driver wouldn't do it even though it's an absolute blast
You bought your Abarth for $5-6K??? That is a steal... these suckers are going for $14-18K now.
Yeah I bought it for 6... Sold it for 9. Market has shot up a ton on them. Corvettes are kinda the same way. Wish I would have bought the car I have now when I bought the fiat. It went from being 17-20k to 25-35k.
Yea hate the fireworks from the catless downpipe.
I liked how I could choose when it happened by just tapping the throttle. Plus I had to be like my dad in his F-Type R🙂
@@PerformanceOnWheels that was a function of the tune so maybe without the tune the pops and bangs wouldn't exist.
@@PerformanceOnWheels I haven't had any issues with my 2013 after 8 months of ownership, love the gas mileage and it's one of seven cars we own. My lower seating position car is a 4C. What are you replacing the Abarth with?
Its a secret... but definitely alot more sporty. 400 plus hp from the factory. 6 speed manual rwd low sitting position
I just had a piggy back tune which just turns up the boost... its very possible that just turning up the boost allows it however
Does the part delay still exist? i am considering this as my only commuter car. Looking under 60k miles
They have many parts on rockauto and eBay and other websites, don’t always have to go to the dealer or the stealership.
THE Popping on your car seemed more then normal .... anyone know why >?
Piggyback and catless downpipe
Should have got a regular tune for it piggyback is for the peasants... sorry not sorry ecus nowadays don't need piggyback that's old jap 90s shit
Is a sport car bro 😎 stop crying 😢. All those complaints goes to every sport cars out there, if don’t like it just get a mini van.
It's not a sport car it's a hot hatch. And not one of those complaints relates to my new ctsv
@@PerformanceOnWheels bro your ctsv is a a run of a mill car, I see 10 everyday. Should of picked up a gt350r
Right he needs to stop. If he hates the car why did he buy it in the first place.
I didn't hate the car at all. Never said that once. One of the most fun cars I've ever owned
You see 10 every day? Of a car they built 4500 of total? I've seen 5 V1since I bought mine. Thats traveling across the country going too huge car events. I have a first gen. I'm 20 I can't afford a gt350 R
It's not dodge engine he come from the original Fiat F.I.R.E(fully integrated robotized engine) that engine if the timing belt broke the valve will not bend has meccanism to prevent that its a marvelous of engineers 😊
In 5 years this dude isn't going to complain about high seating 😆 just wait till your back goes to shit 🤣
Hey man I'm only 19... I sure hope it's longer than 5 years
@@PerformanceOnWheels Alright alright....10 years. Lol
@@brandtcarroll9316 this was funny to read. My back started going out literally at 28 lol
Are parts for the regular 500 hard to find and expensive too?
Not nearly as bad no the abarth is just a bit more exclusive so big components are easy to get for it but stuff like a cv axle.. took excessive time. Alot more normal 500s where built so much easier to get parts for and higher demand so lower prices
@@PerformanceOnWheels That's because you don't know where to look
Azzazel where do look for parts
Yeah, its a cute little Ferrari. I love it
It sure is
Thanks for talking me out of this. I'll just get a boring, reliable Yaris.
Lame
@@PerformanceOnWheels Pathetic.
Your SHO would have beaten that 500 all day... I say we race when the new car makes it here😏
@@PerformanceOnWheels, sadly I don't have my 2010 Ford Taurus SHO anymore.
@@kriswinger9391 I'm sorry to hear that that's to bad
I just recently bought a 500 abarth cabriolet, I want to make it last. I also really want to make it louder but unfortunately don't know too much about cars. Any tips?
Catless downpipe my man
@@PerformanceOnWheels Thanks homie imma give it a look
No problem at all you won't be disappointed
@@PerformanceOnWheels I bought one just for the hell of it, does it take much away from the mpg? And does it smell? Also I watched some other vids with a decat and it doesn't sound as poppy as yours do I need a whole new exhaust for that?
The pops came from the piggy back racechip tune I had. Not a pop tune just a piggyback. Nothing is taken from mpg and the smell is definitely there however did not bother me from inside
2:16 where you got the parts?
I found a company in New York that makes just the cv boots because the axle is so hard to find. So I just rebuilt the axle with new boots
and that one is not the 'cutest' abarth out there . you had fun!
I did have fun it was a blast
Unbelievable the sound at 9:57
❤
I would be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that it would be pretty easy to lower the seat height in the car.
I don't either. The 595 and 695 are fantastic looking cars
What if I called you cute?
@@PerformanceOnWheels well that would be a problem obviously because you are a dude! Besides it's a total different situation calling a person cute and a car cute. You are comparing apples to oranges. You are too sensitive dude, relax man!
I'm just messing with you
@@PerformanceOnWheels 😃 Anyway I loved your Abarth man. I worry about some of the same things you mentioned in your video regarding reliability, parts etc. However I will buy one regardless as soon as the prices come down a bit. I figure I can take a chance because you only live once!
good info on parts eta attention from the ladies in So Cali lol…
YO I ACTUALLY REMEMBER YOU BLOWING MY EARDRUMS OUT AT THE MALL OF AMERICA WHAT ARE THE CHANCES
🤣 that would indeed be me. Good times
That cat delete DP is obnoxious AF! I wouldn't be able to stand driving that thing around, would be embarrassed.
From his dad....✋️🤜💯
That's not a Dodge engine. Keep hearing that but it's not true. The exact same engine is used in several European models as well, including the Punto Evo severally Alfas we didn't get in the US, as well as in the 124, 500L and X as optional engines. Also only the head is different between the multiair and the tjet so many parts are interchangeable. The engine is produced in the US for the north american market but is 100% a Fiat designed engine.
That said the axle situation is ridiculous.
You know I herd its a dodge engine I herd its a fiat engine I herd its a ferrari engine I've herd so many different things but never a real awnser so thank you for sharing this I appreciate that. And yes it really was
@@PerformanceOnWheels this car has been out since 2008 and indeed a Fiat designed engine also I'm at 120k miles with no issues and other than rear wheel bearings which they sell everything at Rock auto.
