You are so correct, some of us just want to be happy and be comfortable, that is how I want to live my life too, have been a nurse in Nigeria for 14 years but nothing to show for it, no career progress and am not even earning upto 150k, am glad you left Nigeria when you did, have been watching your videos for a very long time and I must say you really inspired me and I love your contentment with life. Very educative video ❤❤❤
Wow! Thanks for sharing sis! Happiness is the major key to enjoying a fulfilling life! ❤️if it makes you happy! Just do it! I wish you all the very best!
i'm glad you found this helpful, the reasons are very specific and personal, I was not sure about sharing this before, but so happy you found some tips helpful, made it worth sharing.... thanks for watching ❤
US visa processing is long because when you come in as a nurse, you are considered a permanent resident from day 1 and not on a work visa like in the UK. That's why they use lawyers. Also, it's a long journey but I believe your husband will match into a US residency with UK work experience. It will be worth it in the long run, but I'd highly recommend becoming a U.K citizen first.
Nice one nurse MJ! Your third reason is also one of my reasons for settling in the Uk. So I didn’t even bother rushing with the trend to write the Nclex lol. I also love the serenity and sanity here. Money isn’t everything and is not based on location. All the best.
Nice one!!! There’s a lot of great benefits from migrating to the USA 🇺🇸, I mean, I do have my reasons for starting in the first place… but atm… where I am… the best decision is to wait and see how things unfold … Thanks for watching ❤️
I love love everything you said. Too much negative things have been said about the UK. I am glad finally someone who has passed nclex is talking about getting British citizenship first and may be move. Thank you
Indefinite leave to remain is not the same as British citizenship, it’s just as a permanent resident in the USA u will still have to apply for citizenship in some years to come, no bad energy though, just to clarify 🙏🏽
Thank you for such an informative video new subbie here ! I am definitely looking to migrate to the USA 🇺🇸 but that will be in a couple of years time as you said since the process is arduous there is no rush and I am gaining more experience as a nurse here in the UK in the meantime which will prove valuable in the long run… thank you for your video waiting for the next one💕
MJ ur reasons are on point especially ur hubby part he just came let him rest😂 I have people asking me when I am going to start my US or Canadian process like the way others are doing. I just told them I don’t follow trends, I will go when I’m ready, make I chop the fruit of my labour in UK first😅😅
Hey, I love your Vlogs. I would advise, your husband shouldnt dive deep into the NHS . Get a flexible Job, write his USMLE steps from the UK, stay and get your passport and move to the us. Long run the US is more rewarding esp. for doctors. We like saying money isnt everything, but it could be most things .
UK has opportunities. I did my degree part time in the evenings at East London university. Before that in the mid 90s and early 2000, I used to do courses at community adult education, cake decoration, flower arranging and balloon decor. I use them now that I'm retired. I made friends along the way. Moreso I'm a BAC and got involved in church activities which I enjoy up to now. Every year I go to different exhibitions throughout UK and meet people of the same mind. So I don't understand when someone says there's boredom in the UK. Stay blessed.
Well u gat your reasons! Fine!! But deep down in your belly u wished u had your way in a seamless manner. The circumstances are well understood. Location doesn't define anybody for real. I wish u Good luck Moji
Hie Nurse MJ. Im retired in UK from being a nurse, midwife and Health Visitor with a Psychology degree from East London University. I applied for a visa to go on holiday to America. Applied in May to visit USA on holuday and got a response in November for an interview. After paying my money. I decided to abandon visiting America cos November was winter. Who wants to go on holiday in winter for crying out loud? I'm retired and lost interest in visiting America. I've visited several countries in Europe including the cleanest country Croatia, in my books. I love UK. Stay blessed.
Wow congratulations, lessons learned, I really love this video. Please as a sponsored nurse in the nhs do u have to always change COS when ever u move to the next band ? Thanks
Until you get your Indefinite leave to remain… YES… you have to always change your COS… So, always make sure you receive a new one from the new employer b4 you drop resignation…
Yea The silliest thing about some agencies , mine in particular, is how they tell you not to change your role, position, work place or country without their permission , until you move to the US, what better describes modern day slavery ? It’s so against the essence of moving to a developed country for career growth and academic advancement in the first place. Passed the NCLEX RN since a year ago and still stuck in Nigeria awaiting visa interview date .
Ikr! Cos why will you ask me not to change employer 😂… I’m sorry… that can’t work especially with the lengthy process! The wait can be so frustrating! I had many friends/ colleagues who had to come to UK first and moved from UK after just few months 🇬🇧
Wisdom right here, very key. Dual citizenship is attainable at the end of the day. I always say what ever action to take, think long-term 😉those countries aren't running anywhere😂. As we journey in life we build assets so that whenever one is leaving you can always come back like u said and even have investments in the uk. 😂 not everyone thinks vast and wide but kudos for this 🎉🎉
People need to understand at the moment there is no movement. There is a massive retrogression happening in America and that’s why at the international nurses cannot migrate to the USA. Many people don’t understand the complexity of USA application process. Then they start the application process and realize that they have to wait years. At the minute on the uscis website they looking at 2022 application if you applying outside the country. So it’s a long process and if there is a change then good but one should just continue living.
Exactly! You can’t keep your life on hold because there’s just too much uncertainties… “Keep living” … I forgot to mention the amazing “Maternity leave pay/policy” in the UK 🤭 I need to have 1 or two babies here and enjoy all that comes with it pls 😃
@@NurseMJTV 9 months maternity is good but the only issue is you won’t get full pay for 9 months it keeps getting reduced as the months pass. Also if you do plan to migrate in the near future have a look how that is going to effect your USA application. If you included yourself and your husband and not your prospective kids. ☺️
I'm actually in same boat. My question is how will you handle the Agency's reaction to your refusal to move when the visa retrogression is over and you get a date ?
As a UKRN after passing NCLEX and getting the registration can you keep it without actually being ready to practice in US or is there a deadline to it?
So you have actually started the immigration process? If yes, the it looks like retrogression is the main problem then. Because if not for retrogression, you’d probably be on your way and all the other reasons won’t hold. If you’ve not started an EB3 process, then all the other reasons hold valid.
Please consider your husband, the pathway for Doctors in the US is just crazy and you'll have to leave the US for at least 2 years as a Doctor after residency training or pay $20k for waiver.
