I think the rides look great. But, just my opinion, I think DLCs for PC2 would be much more enticing to buy if they came with some scenery as well as rides. Like you said, a little something to enhance the theme of the particular DLC. I'm sure there are some major theme packs to come, but a little scenery along the way would be great. For me and my style of play, there are a ton of rides in the base game, especially coasters, that will take me a while to get around to playing with. If this first DLC had a few cool scenery pieces, I would be much more likely to purchase it.
The new coaster is the Mack Xtreme Spinner. There are currently two of them: Time Traveler and Ride to Happiness. Guardians is a Vekoma (Vector) already in the game. Good ride, and one I was hoping to get, but I'd have much preferred a new theme at this point in the game's lifecycle. You're right on the second coaster. It's the Intamin family coaster. I also don't recognize the coaster cars. But these usually have very themed cars, so they might have gone with something small and boring so we can build our own.
I’m surprised I got one right! lol. I’ll look into the Mack Xtreme. They seem like fun coasters. Excited for the thoosies, what are the main differences between those and the guardians coaster / vekoma? Hoping to learn a bit more 🫶 Thank you for commenting!
@LeafProductions The Vekoma is a controlled spin. More like an omni-mover. You can actually control the rotation and make it look at specific things. That part is a bit fiddly in-game and takes some extra work to pull off. The Mack Xtreme Spinner is more of a free spin where gravity and G-forces are doing the spinning. That should make it easier to use and less fiddly, but it also means you have a bit less control. It can also handle inversions, which (at least as far as I'm aware) the Vekoma can't. I made a Guardians recreation as my first coaster. Couldn't put it on the Workshop though, because it was over 8k pieces. Planning on redoing it using the Snap Edges to place the theming into separate Blueprints.
The family launch coaster is actually Vekoma, if you take a look at big bear mountain at Dollywood you will see the similarity in track and trains for the coaster.
Correct me if im wrong, but 3 rides and 2 coasters for 10 bucks feels like not really all that much? Especially compared with PZ dlcs. Given i have no clue how much "value" a ride has compared to like an animal in PZ. But as an outsider looking at this it feels like you dont really get 10 bucks worth of content
We need the game to be fixed before any kind of content packs ffs🤦🏽♂️ why do people keep asking for content when guests arent even able to use any paths more wide than 4m????
@@megaplexXxHD I believe that the first three DLCs are at least in different stages of completion, so that is fine by me. However, I would greatly appreciate more thems, as I don't believe the casual gamers are eager to build everything themselves.
Would love a new theme or two but I’m fine with the versatility of what we have right now… for now at least. Seeing Wikz do magic with his is all the proof you need but agree that the next one should have a new theme! 🫶
As far as the fix/patch, I hope they fixed an issue I haven't heard anyone else bring up. Like the Mechanics not maintaining the rides in a timely manner, the janitors seem to be doing the same thing with the toilets (not to mention the bin issue). I keep getting bombarded with messages that toilettes are dirty and need cleaning and have to CONSTANTLY do emergency calls for the janitors. I much preferred the Planet Zoo functionality where you could tell your janitors how frequently to clean a toilet or how frequently your mechanics service utilities.
As someone who previously bought every DLC for PC1 and PZ - this is game has been barebones corporate greed slop. Actually disgusted by what Frontier have become.
Why is everyone always being so damn negative, i personally think it’s pretty cool! I love Planco 2 and its features, especially the fact frontier is still updating it.
2 coasters and 3 flat rides for the same price as a Planet zoo DLC with a couple animals and hundreds of scenery pieces??? C’mon frontier. That’s also my issue with Planet Coaster that I’ve found, is that no matter how many dlc coasters they add, I can’t really see a difference 😂 but im also not a coaster nerd, so I won’t speak to much on that lol
I think it’s the same if you look at Planet Zoo from a thoosie lens. “What’s this, another antelope!?” Personally I wish we had just a bit more content to justify this, but I hope this is just the pain of being the first standalone DLC.
@ fair point. However I fear about the direction they may take. Animals packs were always just animals with small bits of scenery, and scenery packs were always hundreds of pieces with a couple animals. So the first DLC with 5 rides, and only 2 coasters is rather worrying. However I see what you’re saying with this being the first, and maybe it’s just a way of them trying to get content out there for now 🤷♂️
Agreed. Love the game. Love coasters. Love to ride them. But I am not a coaster nerd and they are all too similar for me as well (NO disrespect to the real coaster nerds). There are tons of coasters in the game that I will probably never have time to get to, so a ride-only DLC is not very compelling for me to buy. This one can certainly wait. Now when a big new theme DLC comes out, that will get my attention.
Makes complete sense. I figure you’re a zoo fan since I’ve seen you in many of those videos right Aramar? The rides seem fun but have worthwhile stand ins in the base game. If there’s a sale soon I can see the dollar being more worth it.
@@LeafProductions I used to be a theme park fan before becoming abducted by Planet Zoo. I played RCT 1, 2 and 3 and Planet Coaster 1 before joining the zoo family. This new DLC doesn't have anything that I really wanted (I think the only of those 5 new rides I would go on would be the family launch coaster). I find the pack overpriced for just 5 attractions without any scenery or career scenario, especially after having payed 60 euros last month. Also, I'm still not enjoying playing the base game and the vintage DLC because of all of the bugs and horrible UI experience. Therefore I don't feel the urge to keep investing in the game. I will go back to buy DLCs when the game is fully fixed and I enjoy playing it like I enjoy playing planet zoo.
And lets not forget, in planco 1 we could create mack xtreme spinning coaster by simply changing the car on the different coaster types. Frontier removed this feature only to sell us this „coaster type“ seperately by limiting the exchangable cars🤦🏽♂️ what a shitshow this is turning into
@@megaplexXxHD When you consider that many of those youtubers get the product for free, actually get to TALK to Frontier and even if they won't admit it, HAVE a biased opinion based on those things. It's not terribly surprising.
I was desperately hoping the pack would be more scenery focused seen as that's the thing most lacking from the game if bugs are getting squashed. Yeah, we CAN do pirate or sci-fi or western with what we have now but the majority of players aren't master builders and won't have the skill or time to work around a lack of assets. I see the game as kind of like a digital model trainset? (I don't see the appeal really in the management aspect since, personally, they're mostly annoyances) so the ideal DLC pack for me is more scenery to make my model train look how I want, and not having many themes really hampers this. Sure I COULD spend 30 minutes with clay and paint trying to make a tree but I'd rather just HAVE a tree to put down and focus on something else. Same with planco2, I don't want to spend an hour making a building scifi with art shapes when a scifi pack would have a ton of greebles and animatronics.
probably just the rides they couldn't finish to put in the game from the start, so now we got these out of the way the real exciting stuff is hopefully coming soon!
As a coaster enthusiast I am both exfited and disappointed in this pack. The Mach extreme spinner and vekoma LIM launch family coaster are both amazing additions to the game. Real world examples of these are Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City and Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood. HOWEVER, the flat rides in this pack are bad. 2/3 flat rides don’t even exist in real life. There is no ride like the 540 or striker. There are similar real life rides but Frontier changed them from what they actually are and made it what it’s not. The only good flat ride is the whirl pool, but we already had that in planet coaster 1 and it was just ported over.
I'm hyped for more rides, but this definitely feels like pandering lol. People have been wanting the Mack Extreme Spinner for YEARS as many consider Ride To Happiness the best coaster IN THE WORLD. So makes sense they'd throw this one out as a surprise to be like "Sorry about the kinda-rough launch. Here's one coaster you've wanted forever. That'll be $10, please!" I'll probably get this DLC at some point, but might wait for a sale. I'm still hoping that TMTK becomes a thing again. Because as soon as it is, we'll never have to worry about lack of theme pieces again. But that's probably why they won't give it to us lol.
They really shouldn’t have released a paid DLC, the game needs to be fixed before they want us to buy mediocre DLC packs. Planco1 DLCs came with rides and scenery. This is just a kick in the guts
