  • Welcome to Douala vs Lagos
Douala is a city on the litoral coast of Cameroon. It is the economic capital, a major seaport, and an airport. However, it has stayed stagnant, lacking in innovation and creativity. The grip of one man over the country has shattered the aspirations of two generations. Paul Biya runs the country like his personal fortune, silenceing anyone who dares to challenge his rule. The people have grown poorer, yet he still wins elections by landslides, changing the constitution to prolong his autocratic rule.
Lagos, in contrast, is a vibrant melting pot of various ethnic groups, each contributing to its unique cultural tapestry. In Nigeria, democracy has taken root, but ethnic identity still holds significant importance. For over a century, Nigerians have poured resources into Lagos, transforming it into a prosperous hub that hosts blue-chip companies, financial institutions, the sea, and the airport. It is located in the southwest geopolitical zone of the Nigerian federal setting, which means that it is a Yoruba city. Indigenous to the Awori people, the city has experienced rapid growth in population, a testament to its allure. However, this growth has also posed challenges, as its infrastructure struggles to cope with the burden of overpopulation.
The distance between Douala and Lagos is almost the same as between Lagos and Abuja. In fact, Lagos to Douala is closer by a few hundred kilometres than Lagos to Kano.

Your videos are always very educational. Thanks for the effort put into producing the video. I sure learnt many new things about Cameroon. The part where you compared the Nigerian Public Education System with that of Cameroon was very touching and heartbreaking. How could any leader or leaders abandon the education system of their country?
The education system is suppose to be the bedrock of technological, industrial and infrastructural advancement, including effective governance? Suffice to say that until we take our education system more seriously, we'll continue to rely on imported technology at an exorbitant cost

I love your videos. You attempt to be unbiased while highlighting the good and bad of other countries. I think your videos are very educative.
    A couple of things though.
I think you sell the human capital in cmr short. I think in general Cameroonians are some of the most educated in Africa. Just like Nigerians thrive abroad, so do most other Africans.
You also can't talk about Douala without bringing up football as it has produced eto, milla, ringobert song and many more.
Overall a very good video and I enjoy the other videos also

I agree with a lot of things you wrote there, and I will incorporate what I've learnt from them into my futuristic videos.
      Thank You!

"You guys." Who are you referring to? You seem to be using "organisation" and "infrastructural development" interchangeably.

Competition doesn't necessarily have to be negative. Regardless, anything can be compared.
      Must I compare them? Yes!
      Thanks for stopping by!

Because they all depend too much on France. They could hardly think for themselves. They are still being stylishly colonized by France, which makes their development and exposures so premitive. They are no match for Nigeria and Nigerians. The comparison is nothing but an insult to Nigeria and Nigerians. Tell Cameron to join ECOWAS they will be liberated, well informed, and exposed.
