  • Nine patients of The Children's Center now have a better understanding of what it takes to be one of the best defensive players in the NBA. They spent time with Oklahoma City Thunder star, Thabo Sefolosha during the player's 1st annual basketball clinic held at Edmond Santa Fe High School. The clinic stressed offensive and defensive fundamentals taught not only by Sefolosha, but top high school coaches around the Oklahoma City metro area.
Sefolosha said it was great meeting the children especially after all the wonderful things he has heard about The Children's Center, "We embrace everyone in this community and The Children's Center is a big part of it. We want them to feel that way. I think it's important."
Thabo played a game of "Hot Shot" with the children and their aides from The Children's Center during a special 20 minute break-out session. Thabo then took a group picture with the children and signed a basketball for each child. They also received their own clinic T-shirt.
The Children's Center, a private, nonprofit pediatric hospital, is dedicated to helping children with complex medical and physical disabilities maximize their potential. In an atmosphere of faith, hope and love, the Center provides medical and respiratory care, rehabilitative therapies, and special education to youth and children, both inpatients and outpatients.
