    Thank you for this video. I used this technique for my out door sofa and chairs. Bought the recommended straps. Quick and easy to do and sitting on the furniture is now enjoyable.

    Haha! My husband dug deep into his “river rat” (he’s a waterfowl hunter who grew up on the river). His solution was paracord. Lol! 👍🏻

    Have the ratchet straps stayed in the same place? Or do they slide around? I have some old hand me down furniture with some straps completely snapped so I would like to try it if it could be a long term solution

    • @backtolife208
      @backtolife208  ปีที่แล้ว

      They have held up perfectly. No sagging or stretching or sliding around.

    • @backtolife208
      @backtolife208  ปีที่แล้ว

      We had owned the chairs for a couple summers before I added the ratchet straps. They sagged like that since shortly after they were new. They’re comfy chairs as long as you add the straps so that they actually support you. Thanks for watching! I hope it helps you out!

      Thank you for being so gracious. I ended up getting the sling chairs with that screen type fabric after watching videos of how to replace material when needed. I love your tie down solution for your chairs. Very resourceful!! I miss old fashioned plastic that can be painted, power washed and picked up easily 😀

    How do I get no rust to come out the legs of chairs like this! Chair is in great condition but it leaks rust? HELP???

    • @backtolife208
      @backtolife208  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think that’s going to be a tough one. I think you’d have to stop the water from going in before you can get the rust to stop coming out. Are there covers or plugs in the ends of the chair frame? Possibly you could use a good caulk or sealant to seal the plugs into the ends of the frame. You’ll want to be sure the insides are dry first. That’s all I can think of. Let me know if it works.

    Hey ya'll. I have chairs exactly like that, and they are great except for sagging just like yours. They are probably 20 years old. So I am definitely going to give it a try that even a single woman should be able to handle. Thanks and just wanted to say that I have eternal life in Jesus Christ. Blessings.

      @@backtolife208 Hey brother. Could you tell me if you think a lashing strap would work as well? It seems like it has a flatter metal piece, but I really don't know the difference. I guess it really doesn't matter underneath the chair. The ratchet strap is the same material, but it's mechanism helps to tighten it? Appreciate your help.

    • @backtolife208
      @backtolife208  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WalkingbytheSpiritAlways I’m guessing that a lashing strap would work also. If it’s what I think, my only concern is that you might have to pull pretty hard to get it tight enough. Maybe pull it tight, sit on it, then pull it tight again a few times to get it tight enough. It might work just fine. Don’t tighten it so much that it pulls the chair frame together though. Let me know how it goes!

      @@backtolife208 Thanks for your answer. I am going to get the ones you recommend. I am 62 years old, and not really strong. It's an wrought iron chair. Should get it in a couple of days if we are still here. I keep looking for Jesus and the rapture the way the world is, and my channel was started because of a rapture dream I had on 3/16/2017.
