Visited my brother who lives Riddrie in a really nice street in August ,Next time i come up going into city have a look .Nice to see other streets in Riddrie .Scary place barlinnie prison been once a long time ago as a visitor.😊
Hi Paul,as usual another great video.I know these areas quite well. When i was 8 years old we moved from Collina st.Maryhill to the brand new housing scheme of Easterhouse. We stayed in 54 Wellhouse cres.I was sent to Haghill Primary School and then to Onslow Drive Secondary.Had quite a lot of pals in and around Corsock St.etc.I also drove the blue buses along Alexandra Parade ,up Cumbernauld Rd,Riddrie and on into Garthamlock and other destinations..Happy times back then.
I've done the bins in Haghill before these new street ones got put out. Aberdour, Aberfeldy and Aitken St were health and safety hazards. you had to go up a flight of stairs in the closes and open double doors to go back down a big flight of metal stairs to get to the back court. It was torture. many a bin man has had an accident on them especially during they winter months when the stairs are wet with rain and slippy with ice or snow.
Genuine question mate for viewers of your channel. Wondering just where Haghill ends and Denistoun begins, and vice versa? Is Cumbernauld Road the dividing line?
I would say anything inside from ladaig st to the railway line i would concider haghill ,, so that would be ladaig st ,duke st cumbernauld rd then only up halfway to lights at the parade at Alexanderpark st ,, if you split the parade rd in half the park keeping the park in denniston ,,, iam only going what my job would tell me ,, but i think thats correct,,, good question 👍
Hi Paul, I'm back home in Glasgow next weekend in gd time for the germany v Scotland game so I'm sure the atmosphere in Glasgow will still be gd , visiting some old friends and places I lived can't wait
@@ROUTEPLANNERPAUL hope your cough gets better to , I've had It myself for weeks not nice , the 100 day cough they call it , can't wait for the next video 👍
Aberdour, Aberfeldy and a Aberfoyle St have some of the worst inside of the closes in Glasgow. Only the architecture is similar to Dennistoun. A stones throw away, yet worlds apart poverty wise. I've worked in almost every block in the city, and they stick in my memory.
I stayed in 387 appin road right across from tagues grocers and me and my brother attended haghill primary school it's now fenced off and we hung about Alexandra park loved it I'm now staying in nitshill where the royal oak Cavendish and levern water pubs where 🤗🤗
My dad works in barlinnie and has done 38 years and that walk that you where head on with is where family friends and gang members used to throw balls over filled with drugs mobile phones and SIM cards and the other side wall is recreation yard where they get to walk about exercise 🤗🤗
Good morning Paul.Great video. The pub called the Lea Rig,there's a pub with the same name in one of our housing estates.tak care.x

Barlinnie prision has gone all modern , I was surprised to see it looking more like a sports centre.

I’m quite sure the inmates of Barlinnie are very appreciative of the young team’s regular delivery drone flying!

Ah Barlinnie, the view from my school bus for years.
My grand lived in 151 kausik st
22:51 Tay crescent 👍🏻
Todays useless bit of info all streets and crescents in riddrie are named after rivers
A really dreary part of Glasgow. The horrific bins don't help.
I agree
