    Thank you for the video, and ending it with a sample on a garment. Beautiful sweater and I really enjoyed seeing the decreasing applied in a real garment.

    Awesome tutorial. Watching these videos makes me want to go on a knitting retreat of six months somewhere…

    Thank you for this. I’m knitting the Auster cable jumper at the moment and this tutorial is very useful.

      Hi Robert! Thanks so much for watching, glad you found this useful! Auster has such great cables! What color are you knitting it in?

      @@BrooklynTweed_Official Thank you. I’m knitting it in a pale grey yarn. I’m just finishing the back. And am very pleased so far 😀

    Excited to try this without a cable

      Woolen-spun yarns are great for trying techniques without a cable needle since your stitches tend to stay in place!

    Thanks for the best demonstration of this I’ve found. It appears that the right and left-leaning decreases look a bit different, with the left ones being more prominent. This is currently annoying me a bit in my own project, since the left decreases seem to have a more obvious or looser loop of slanting yarn. Do you have any advice or explanations related to this? Thanks!

      Hi Dawn! This is one of The Great Eternal Debates of knitting for sure! TechKnitter has a super informative four part blog series on right leaning vs. left leaning decreases (with great illustrations) that you can check out here: techknitting.blogspot.com/2007/09/right-decreases-good-twin-part-1-of.html

    What is your secret for the beautiful lower edge on your sample? Why is it not curling?

    • @BrooklynTweed_Official
      @BrooklynTweed_Official  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rosie! Thanks for watching! The secret is that we steam our swatches before filming so that they look their best. (If you look closely, you can see that this one is trying to curl back up a bit already!)

    Hi, Im wondering if there is the possibility of fashioned increases. I can't find anything. Many thanks and greetings from Prague

      Hi Richard! Great question - people usually talk about fully fashioned decreases but not increases! Modern Daily Knitting comes to the rescue with a great post here: www.moderndailyknitting.com/2019/04/19/techniques-in-depth-fully-fashioned-part-1-increases/

      @@BrooklynTweed_Official thank you. However I don't see the variant of double decreases in increases described in the post. As i would like to make nice increases for top down sweater. Maybe as non english native speaker didn't catch it in the post.
