I mean, you survived which just proves that drinking a lot of water during an earthquake will save your life.

      Irrefutable logic ☝️

My brain must follow this logic too because I drink lots of water whenever I'm scared/anxious.

I would really appreciate it if whenever something really scary happens I just turn and see Josh calmly drinking a bunch of water.

That’s the voice of panic right there

I’m the same which is probably why no one believes I am SUPER STRESSED when I am SUPER STRESSED.

"They'd rather die than be rude, they must be british." Nah nah nah nah, Canadian. Brits are notoriously rude (stereotype joke, they can be lovely people but just watch the Jeremy Kyle show and you'll understand)

I did not feel the Earthquake when it happened. I was taking a shower and my sister told me that it happened when I got out. I am glad to see that everything went well at your show despite the Earthquake.

I was at an outdoor festival thing a few years ago when we had one of those mayan apocalypse scares (can't remember which year, it was like late summer I think?) and right before the time the apocalypse was supposed to happen, the act to start performing next was a type of dance troupe called 'border morris', which are morris dancers but they wear all black and red and have scary makeup on, I think it was an old tradition to scare off demons? idk. so the announcer said 'okay and next we have the local border morris group...and then if they don't bring on the apocalypse, after them is [band]'. then after they finished (and after the time the world was supposed to end) the announcer came back and said 'okay well...we're all still here...let's carry on with the show!'

Holy cow I think about exactly the same thing during panic attacks. I decided to pursue particle physics as a career since it’s already such a large part of my every day existential crises. Glad(I guess?) to know someone else does this too.

I mean who doesn’t start thinking about physics during a panic attack? 😂👍 But also for someone having a panic attack you dealt with the whole situation extremely well. You should be proud of yourself, I can’t imagine how scary this was.💕

I recently experienced my first major earthquake. My girlfriend was tripping out and I came running out of the home office like an excited child on Christmas, "It's an earthquake! It's an earthquake!" as I ran to the corner windows to watch everything shake. I completely spaced off all the elementary school training of getting under a desk or into a doorway. My girlfriend didn't feel safe for a week afterwards, while my sociopathic self enjoyed every single aftershock. I didn't forget about her and tried to console her as best I could.

Holy hell, California! You guys go on like nothing happened. In Salt Lake there was an earthquake this Spring and it really affected me. I had been through some really small ones but nothing like that day. I still have problems from it.

When I’m scared I start shaking bad but my demeanor stays the exact same and everyone around me is like, “...are you cold of scared?”

I would have been already gone by the time you noticed. lol. I have a strong flight reflex. A huge earthquake hit my area while I was sleeping last year and I was already out the door by the time I came to. I know you are not suppose to do more than open doors until the shaking stops but I cannot seam to override this.

"I start to think about particle physics then I swing the other way and I think about ASTRO physics....and then I try and find a Xanax". Anxiety at it's finest...at least you probably sound really intelligent while panicking. While I just have an existential crisis and turn into a sobbing mess. 😆

I live in Idaho where 90 percent of the population is actually from California and we got our first earthquake while I was working and all the Californians were like “you know the drill” and went outside and I (an Idaho native) stood under a swinging light like “woah that never happens” one more point of earthquake I’d be dead

You are drinking because you are nervous and need to do an activity to break the tension you are feeling. Drinking is an easy one because it doesn't require you to use too much energy or mental focus. Just a fun little thing in case you actually wanted to know the reason. Same for people who stress eat.

I live in japan which I dunno if u know, HAS A LOT OF EARTHQUAKES!!! I remember quite vividly when I was 5 years old there was a meeting in our living room and I was playing with cars under the table. Suddenly everything started shaking, lamps, books, and pictures started to fall. Everyone in the room started praying. I walked out from under the table cuz I was scared, but a dresser fell and nearly crushed me! My Dad told everyone to go under the table. I remember my dog (mocha) was licking my Dad as if he was controlling it and she was saying “please make it stop.” Lol. It lasted 5 minutes and was truly terrifying.
