The first time I heard Delius music was 1974 when I heard Florida Suite. I was hooked. Still am. A shame about his wretched health at end of his life. So unique. Thankfully he followed his own path. His concept of Harmony is distinct. A simpler time. I've loved his music for 50 years now. That's dating me.
You only have to listen to a bar or two of Delius's music, whether orchestral or choral, to know the composer. A bit like Sibelius. Such a strong individuality throughout his composing career, a unique voice, and so lovely. We are fortunate to have this music to freshen our aural palette.

We are learning this wonderful piece for our Summer School this year. Can't wait.

Could he see the next world-or is he showing us the other world lying just beside us that we cannot or will not see?
I believe that Delius had something extrasensory going on when he wrote, perhaps he saw color in notes and chords..
I believe such condition is called synesthesia. Some composers also claim to have such condition.
Beautiful ! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017 !
