I cut my own now since i cannot get a hairdresser to cut my hair like this. They seem to think a woman my age should have a bob🤮. Yet it is how we wore our hair in 1980s and it certainly does accentuate eyes and cheekbones. Down with the bob! Its been popular for 30 yrs, we need a change!

Same here! My last hairdresser was actually really angry when I asked her to get rid of the granny bob and cut a pixie. She really resisted the idea of shorter hair - but I had my way and loved the new cut. Never went back to that salon and have been doing my own hair now for the last 6 years. I'm currently growing a mullet in the back and colored my hair turquoise - just like I wore it in the 80s.

I let my hair grow out for a few months, and last week got a slightly longer version of this. Going back to ask her to add a few more layers on the crown, before I get frustrated and start doing it myself….which usually doesn’t end well…
