The algorithm is showing me a lot of videos regarding this and I'm loving it. Thanks for speaking about this. I'm cis and I didn't realize how transphobic Kalvin's ideas were. I thought "well, he's trans, so I should listen", which I regret now. I didn't follow him that much, but I did support Blaire. Thankfully I started watching other content creators and I think I'm learning a little more about these issues and how transphobic some of my ideas were. I wish people would let others be themselves, as long as it doesn't harm others. And I mean, gender identity and gender expression don't so, sooooooo. 🤷🏽♀️

I also supported them blindly cause I thought they were just trying to educate people and trying to spread more awareness about the trans community until later I realized that some of the shīt they said (kelvin and Blaire) were very harmful and were hurting people :/ hopefully people can educate themselves more and not support them blindly like most people did. yes, same! I found him and blaire white first and I thought that what they were saying was true since they are trans. I'm not sure what changed my mind, but I eventually did realize they're just like white republicans who think that the only way to live is the way they're living and anyone who deviates is wrong and should be punished. I'm also glad that we've reached the point that people are able to criticize the both of them without being transphobic or people accusing you of transphobia for criticizing them

i'm so glad more and more people are speaking out against kalvin now,, as a nonbinary person that uses he/they pronouns it took me literal years to work through the ideologies that kalvin imprints on his younger fans and finally get to be myself. thank you for making this
It’s so messed up how many trans youth he’s effected sometimes permanently. I really hope as a community we can move past these kinds of ideas and be more excepting of each other❤️
Kalvin Garrah was the first trans TH-camr I decided to follow when I found out something about my gender wasn't feeling right inside of me; I listened to all of his ideas and took them as facts because I thought that was the only reality; "he is famous, so many people agree with him, he must be right" that's what I thought about him. I laughed along with him while watching his videos and made the terrible mistake of watching his videos while my dysphoria got the best of me. When I watched him while being in a state of vulnerability about my identity, his ideas just entered even more easily inside my mind and made me believe I would never be enough. I changed my style, my way of talking, lots of things I liked about myself just to fit inside the description of what a correct trans person should be... and I deeply regret that. Nowadays, I don't remember who I was before forcing myself to change, but now, it feels worse. Because now I know that changing won't make me more or less trans, there's no "correct" way of being trans, but it's too late because I already lost everything I was. I found out there's no way to be correct, and that should make me happy... but it doesn't, because now I don't even feel like I am ME anymore. I'm still trying to get over his toxic ideas and building myself up again to find an even better version of me than who I was before. Thank you for reading.
Ngl I was on my break at work when I read this and I had such a hard time not crying for you. I hope you know you are amazing and valid no matter what. It can take years to unlearn toxic mindset but I know it’s possible. I truly hope that even if you don’t remember who you were before you can grow and change into the person you want to be. I’m so sorry Kalvin and his kinda of ideology did to you. It’s stories like this that make me want to speak out more and more about creators who are actively making other trans people feel like they aren’t enough. i watched so much of Kalvin's videos before I started questioning my gender identity. They could have been one of the things that made me keep thinking "it's not 'bad' enough, so I'm just cis" or "i'm doing these things for attention" when I realised I didn't like being gendered as female. I really wish that I hadn't bought into his mean bullshit ideas. it's nice to see people calling him out and trying to repair the damage he's done.
Reflecting on the last few years, I think a lot of us also listened to kalvin at first because his world view convinced us that we weren’t trans or non binary, which takes a lot off your plate if you are struggling with identity, “kalvin says I wouldn’t wear bright clothes if I was REALLY uncomfortable being perceived as feminine, I must just be a woman with trauma” I’m glad I never got roped in enough to spread his ideas and reply to comments and hurt people. I empathise with anyone touched by his selfish rhetoric, hope you’ve all found yourselves now and made amends to anyone you might have hurt at first with those opinions. Take care everyone!

I don't really understand the algorithm tbh, but I think writing their names here will help get it in the recommended bar next to Brennen Beckwith's video about Kalvin Garrah so tadaa that's done. Also Ashton Daniel. Anyways, I was affected in a similar way. I never seriously watched Kalvin and I did find positive trans narratives before I found him, so I didn't consciously/intentionally believe in his bullshit, but of course it still got internalized because it seeped into general culture. You can't really stop that from happening. But hey therapy helps. So, cool video, and I hope your channel grows :) Also I linked your channel to AVEN's official world watch list of ace youtubers. I'm going to assume you don't mind, but if you do, let me know, I'll delete the post. kalvin garrah barely understands the scientific or medical facts, which he himself admits, just giving some vague recognition to a scientific theory isn’t “stating facts”, and his many of his videos (including the one he did on brennan) are just straight up bullying and gatekeeping

@@beanwithbacon once again kalvin only mentions that there is a science to being transgender but it seems like he has a very vague understanding of what that is and is in no way a good source, and i’ve watched many videos explaining the science of being transgender that are able to do so without harassing a single person, gender being binary isn’t a scientific fact and if kalvin believes that then why would he believe in the validity of being non binary?

Just because humans have the brain capacity to think we're more than we actually are doesn't mean we actually are. I know that biological sex isn't completely binary if you count the extremely minute percentage of intersex people out there, but again that is a physical defect. The reality is that your sex often determines your gender unless you are born with the brain physiology of a trans person. Like I said before, humans are NOTHING more than purely physical beings.
