HAHAHA, I'm calling it! 3 months after your wedding, there will be an announcement that she's pregnant. You're both very healthy and in great shape. Just enjoy the getting there. It will absolutely happen. Have fun, you two sweet kids. 😊
What a valuable vlog. I wish every young person in schools could listen to the values you're talking about. So useful. Only following you for short time but enjoy every experience. You send valuable learning experiences each time. Thank you.
LOVE the portion on student loans, uni and debt load. As someone with multiple degrees (and still two more to get), I always advise people against going to uni unless they truly have to, want to or have the means to. So many people think that it's what you have to do for any and every job these days but that's not the truth and so many people with degrees aren't even working in their field anymore. My husband is a prime example. Degree in nuclear engineering, worked in his field for a short time and is now a successful music composer making more than senior engineers at power plants (but he still has the student debt associated with his specialized degree). High school students need more access to information that is going to help them make the right decision for themselves going into uni or the work force. I know that I didn't have this info and it wouldn't have changed my life path as much being in the medical sector, but I know it can help so many others and I still would have liked to have been informed about all of it despite my "locked in" progression through school.
Good luck on your new family journey! Parenthood is magical and definitely what has brought the most joy in my life. It's hard and tiring work but worth it. I've just given birth to my 3rd baby. I met their Papa on the road, we travelled together and 3 months later I became pregnant in Morocco. Now we live on the Åland Islands with our nearly 4yr old, 2yr old and beautiful newborn. Travelling now is VERY different for us. Thank you for sharing your answers, I really enjoyed apritiate this video!
I found Fun for Louis about five years ago and was hooked. It was beautiful to watch how Raya enhanced your channel (and your life of course) and to observe your evolution both individually and as a couple. Wishing you both much luck and love as you move through your life and I feel very lucky that I get to share it with you.
Just sent this to my son, who is starting uni courses this year. His HS has a program that gives them 4 free uni courses for dual credit, so he's doing some pre-reqs. GREAT advice. I've been harping on about avoiding student loan debt as much as possible.
I've been watching you guys for years and had NO idea that you guys were almost 10 years apart. Definitely mentally the same age which is all that matters responsibly of course.
I had a daughter at 20 and I wasn't "ready" at all. Turned out there be the most amazing journey of my life. You are never ready you just adapt ❤️ you can do anything with a kid but definitely give yourself time and space with a baby.
It’s crazy to me how just from watching your guys’ videos, I’ve completely changed what I want out of life and have found such a motivation to not only travel more but just make better choices for myself and the planet. Love you guys so much and so excited to see where the future takes you! ❤️
With regards to the money situation and wanting to spend more time with friends and family or on our hobbies, some people don't have the option to pick those options over work. It's easy for you guys to say that because of the amazing job and opportunities you have. But when you are struggling literally working to pay bills or not knowing what your hours at work are going to be like due to the current situation we are sacrificing our life for work at the moment because we do not have another option. I'm hoping by the end of next year or even the year after that i will be able to reduce my hours or even take a year off and put more focus into the things i love and want to try. The goal is to buy land and learn to live off it and I cannot wait for that to happen.
I started following Louis & Raya when Louis was in a Casey Neistat video. During Louis stay in NYC he met Raya and the rest is history❣️ I’m so happy to have followed the journey!✌🏼
Love how you talked about student debt. I’m in Canada but it’s similar to the US. The university that most people from my town go to, 3 hours away costs $60k a year. I chose to go to the local community college, costing like $5k per year. I’m in my last year of my Bachelors of Education and I’ve been working 20 hours a week just paying for school as needed, and I’m even growing a savings account. Other girls I grew up with are getting the same degree but at that university, easily getting into $200k of student debt!! It’s crazy
Wow! Can I ask, what is the main difference between community college and regular college in the USA? Are the degrees different? Or is it just a difference in prestige?
I'm also like you Raya that I was pushed into going to college right after high school, like many others. I'm so glad I didn't go to my "dream school" while I was in high school because that was a private art school for a specific subject and I ended up changing my mind later on. I went to a public university and got many grants and scholarships but STILL got into student debt. I'm someone that was completely independent once I went away for school. I had to manage school, a full-time job, studying, paying for bills at 18. Literally you're still a kid figuring life out!!! I changed my major 5 times. Anyways, I graduated with 25k in debt but I knew I wanted to travel SO I became a flight attendant. It's not a dream job but it gives me the flexibility to travel, I get great benefits and so does my family. I recommend it 100% for those that have the travel itch but don't necessarily want to go the bartending or serving route. My job is so flexible that in my free time I can also do odd jobs to make extra money as well. I appreciate you guys being very open about the college system and speaking on student debt because it's such a HUGE issue.
Very sad situation here in the U.S. with student debt. I'm a baby boomer, and when I went to college in the '60s, it was very affordable. I got a good education at UCLA and graduated with no debt. I met my husband by answering an ad in a magazine (this was before the Internet), and it was love at first sight. I never would have believed that was a real thing before it happened. We have never thought much about money. We just live our lives and follow our interests. I can't believe it's been 38 years now.
Beautiful story, thanks for sharing. Yeah its crazy young people pay that much to go to university in the US, quite sad really. Here in Denmark it's different, university is free and you get like $ 1000 a month for free by the state and you can take student loan on top of that. I left university with like $ 10.000 in debt after 5 years.
@@RayaandLouis you both give me so much hope for my future, you’re so raw and real and you make me feel more normal then any other youtubers because of just how open you’re willing to be. thank you so much for bringing us along on your journey!!
I love you both so much. I can’t think of any more authentic and beautiful people on TH-cam as the two of you. I’ve been watching since before the beginning of your relationship and remember when and how you met each other. I was rooting for you and hoped you would end up together. So happy to see the way things have evolved. 🙏🏻💖✨
We relate to you guys so much. We watch people here on TH-cam and relate to them in some ways but you guys seem like you're in a very similar place to us and have a lot of the same views, so we love watching your journey and hearing your thoughts. We're excited to see your journey in Costa Rica and community living because that's something we're interested in but haven't experienced for ourselves. Thank you for your awesome videos and your authenticity 🧡💜
Nice video, I have a question, are you planning something like a reaction video to the footage of your previous travels and trips around the world? You've been through so much and it'd be interesting to see you reminisce about great moments in your relationship :) (as unlike many of us, you have it documented!).
I remember my sister showed me Louis' 'Living the adventure' video 6 years ago (when I was 17), and I've been watching ever since! It's funny, I used to relate more to Louis' videos, but I relate more to Raya since I've gotten older. Love both of your content and perspectives on life!
For me as a German citizen to hear how expensive University is in your countries is wild! In Germany we don’t pay anything and if you don’t come from a wealth background the state even pays you a monthly rate for food/accommodations etc., which has to be paid back only partly. This also means that parents don’t have to save for their children’s school and University. Also the students start their lives without any depths.
I’ve seen the moment you two met on footage back when that just happened , you might’ve not have known, but I knew immediately;) But very much agree with the slow pace you have, actually building your relationship
I wish you all of the love and happiness in this world. It is beautiful to see the way you look at each other. All blessings for your future plans! pura vida!
Thanks for sharing your journey. Indeed the pandemic has taught many of us to slow down and make choices that are more true to ourselves. My grandmother told me that you don't get to choose your family so choose your friends wisely. The family we choose (friend and sometimes blood relatives) are the ones who support us. All the best with rest of your trip and life journey
You guys are both so lovely and inspire me to dream big and work for my dreams. Been following you both pretty much from the start and it's so nice to see how you keep growing!☀️ Greetings from Berlin
Someone probably already mentioned it in the comments but look into getting a silicone ring for a wedding band. They are SUPER comfortable and affordable. I bought a couple for myself and my husband before a trip because I didn't want to lose my "good" rings and that was two years ago!
Thank you for this vlog! Love y'all 💗 My question is more technical.... what equipment would you recommend to start a TH-cam channel..... I can not get a video loaded LoL 😂
Go to Fiji . Thank you for sharing your thoughts about college. It has been frustrating having a degree and not being able to use it. My husband and I are encouraging our son to think outside of the country.
Love your channel. I found you when you swapped vehicles with Kara and Nate. One Sat night, I went back to the beginning and saw the "How you met" video. We also watched Louis birthday video, saw your friend Kyland who is on Big Brother this season. Small world.
I feel very lucky to be Scottish since university is free here if you are a Scottish National. I love uni so much and couldn’t imagine my life without it, but if it cost $200k I think I wouldn’t be able to justify it!! Also, whilst I think you don’t need a degree for a lot of career paths I also believe it’s a really important thing to do if you do enjoy academics and learning, since it gives you the chance to freely explore so many areas. Thanks for the video guys!
Awww! Louis just grew on Raya; like a bad mold... ;P When you started talking about "getting used to a ring," I was totally thinking a tattooed ring would be ideal for you! Due to how tremendously active you are, there's a high likelihood for damaging/losing a ring, or alternatively just not wearing it whenever you're doing those things -- which is so frequent you'd rarely be wearing it anyway!
Lovely video! I want to add though that I think that’s a really big misrepresentation of UK student loan system. 1) There is HUGE interest. Even for a few weeks it can be in the hundreds. 2) How much you get depends on unfair factors. Regardless of whether your legal guardians support you or not, the government expects them to, so if they earn a certain amount and pay increased taxes, you don’t get the support you need to live from loans. So, if your family don’t support you, you are done for (especially if you have limitations on working, such as with disabilities). Also, you have to have been estranged from your family for 3 years before you get the government support fully, so if you only just got estranged, you are done for as well.
Although it sounds like Raya never even thought about this option, there are fabulous Community Colleges in the U.S. True, it is only a 2-year degree, if a degree is even your goal, but it is a super affordable option and, in some cases, it is even free! In addition to degree paths, Community Colleges offer life-long learning opportunities and vocational training.
can you please do a video on cheap ways to travel and hacks? currently stuck in lockdown in Australia and I'm planning on doing a massive 6 month holiday once boarders opened and I've never traveled that long before and want to make it the best 6 months i possibly can without breaking the bank
I worked at a student loan center and i've seen people with over a million dollars in student debt, it's insane how expensive college is here in the US
I recommend travelling when kids are small.. When they are baby they don`t run away ;) But just have in mind being relaxed and doing stuff in babies time.. And babywearing you can go many places.. Get good babycarrier that is ergonomic and comfortable for the baby and yourself. My first year with my first baby I travelled a lot. Not so much now with 2 kids and covid19. But I look forward when they are 4 and 8, I wanna bring them on an interrail trip. Normally I travel alone with them, since my husband don`t like travelling as much. But yeah.. Just want to let you know.. Life does not end, when you get a kid.. People kept saying that to me. And I hated it.. I am still me and still do all the stuff I love :)
Can’t believe how much tuition fees are in the US! I thought we were hard done to in the UK having fees of £9k a year. I was looking into mortgage options last week and had to look at my student debt for the first time in a few years. We do get charged interest in the UK. Mine has gone up over £400 in just 5 months this year 😂😭
Tuition interest in the US is actually small and it is a flat rate, not compounded. You can also delay paying until after you graduate. My husband and I just went through this with my daughter going to college this past week.
I can't explain how much I love you guys 💕 I always feel like you guys were something more to me☺️ I always wish if I had a elder sister like Raya 😭 and a handsome brother like Loui🤭 Love you so much, one in a million ☺️ Take care 🥰
I guess you could call me a modern, deïst Christian, and it's shaped my end goals a ton. IDC about setting an example. I was put on this earth without my concent being asked, so I'm under no obligation to perform for anyone, except my mother, father and family who cared for me a lot growing up. My end goal in life is to experience life in both the ups and the downs, and see how I react and grow from those experiences. When I look back in the past, traumatic experiences back then are what showed me the foundations that I have within me, shifting the borders in my mind of where I can and cannot go. I think that's a beautiful thing. I once read this thing on reddit that got me thinking a lot: If I believe in god, and god is supposed to be omniscient, then how could I tell if this world is really a world, or just a god thinking of what a world would be like for a mere mortal like myself? Now, if this is the case, then every human is just a flicker of imagination from the same mind. I find a lot of solace in this, the technological simulation theory and also the idea that minds are all just part of one electrical loop (electrons moves in probability waves and an experiment in Russia showed that at least on the quantum level, time does not seem to be an issue) from the first neuron that fired a spark, until the last, and what we believe to be our ego is simply the current SSD(brain) we are traveling through as electrons. I appreciate my life a lot because of this world view. Even if the rest of my life would be absolute horror, the experience will be one worth to have lived for myself in the grander scheme of things than just this one life.
Me and my student debt watching 👁👄💧👁 hahaha. I'm in my second year of getting my Doctorates in Physical Therapy and the debt definitely scares me. I've been very blessed that my parents love to travel and they have taken me many places throughout my life. That's awesome you were able to go to Uni in Europe!
Hii raya and louis i just want to say that i really love your guys video and i wish that i will meet you guys someday and i wish that you guys always safe everywhere you go GODBLESS❤ Im From PHILIPINES and im not very good at english hehe😊
Look at some of Jinti Fell’s videos……very nomadic, van living Australian family! I know you’d enjoy all her videos/Instagram posts! Going on 3rd baby! Just give her a look! ❤️
I think this may be the perfect age gap. Louis is right. I really feel men don't really grow into themselves until their 30's and women consciously have this unfair ticking clock hanging over their heads and just naturally mature faster. I'm 37 and am a completely different man to the boy I was in my 20's it's really hard for a woman to adapt to that. As long as the woman feels they have experienced enough single life by the time they meet, this could be the perfect age gap. Although, any couple can make anything work.
Age is an illusion. My hubby is 9 years older than me. We met when I was 15, married when I was 17 and had a baby when I was 19. 40 hrs later still together and happy. We did our travelling later but still had a great time.
Been a fan of Louis channel for years. I think Raya has been a wonderful addition to his life to not not add purpose but to allow him to find roots and to plant his feets. Now they together can grow wherever they go

Why Costarica? And is it hard to get residence there or visa now?
Louis, will you be applying for citizenship when you move to Costa Rica?

Thanks! ☺️
maybe you guys could try those silicone rings or i really like those hawaiian wood carving with opal
Awww! Louis just grew on Raya; like a bad mold... ;P
When you started talking about "getting used to a ring," I was totally thinking a tattooed ring would be ideal for you! Due to how tremendously active you are, there's a high likelihood for damaging/losing a ring, or alternatively just not wearing it whenever you're doing those things -- which is so frequent you'd rarely be wearing it anyway!
Hey Louis! I haven't seen you in ages like when Charles and Allie Speed were married and Jesse and Jeana. Raya is beautiful and smart. Good Luck.
You can study for free in Germany 🇩🇪 I’ve traveled all my life including during my studies, so grateful for living here
Although it sounds like Raya never even thought about this option, there are fabulous Community Colleges in the U.S. True, it is only a 2-year degree, if a degree is even your goal, but it is a super affordable option and, in some cases, it is even free! In addition to degree paths, Community Colleges offer life-long learning opportunities and vocational training.
You guys are awesome, perfect couple xo
What are your building plans for CR? Do you plan to live on the bus with a potential baby and/or furbaby as things are being built?
how are you able to stay and live in costa rica as a non citizen?
can you please do a video on cheap ways to travel and hacks? currently stuck in lockdown in Australia and I'm planning on doing a massive 6 month holiday once boarders opened and I've never traveled that long before and want to make it the best 6 months i possibly can without breaking the bank
I worked at a student loan center and i've seen people with over a million dollars in student debt, it's insane how expensive college is here in the US
Wowww no way!
You guys are amazing 🤩
Thanks Jessica!
there are states in the US that have their own state bank do exactly what you were requesting from the US colleges
I recommend travelling when kids are small.. When they are baby they don`t run away ;)
But just have in mind being relaxed and doing stuff in babies time..
Is the house in Costa Rica already being built or will the build only start when you guys arrive there in a few months?
Can’t believe how much tuition fees are in the US! I thought we were hard done to in the UK having fees of £9k a year. I was looking into mortgage options last week and had to look at my student debt for the first time in a few years. We do get charged interest in the UK. Mine has gone up over £400 in just 5 months this year 😂😭
Tuition interest in the US is actually small and it is a flat rate, not compounded. You can also delay paying until after you graduate. My husband and I just went through this with my daughter going to college this past week.
Yes you get charges interest, its 4% at the moment going up to 6% later. But check.
How do you wash your clothes living in the van. 😊. I've loved watching your adventures. Wishing you both all the very best in your future ❤
I can't explain how much I love you guys 💕 I always feel like you guys were something more to me☺️ I always wish if I had a elder sister like Raya 😭 and a handsome brother like Loui🤭 Love you so much, one in a million ☺️ Take care 🥰

Thank you! 😊
Ahhh love you guys good luck xxx
Hii raya and louis i just want to say that i really love your guys video and i wish that i will meet you guys someday and i wish that you guys always safe everywhere you go GODBLESS❤

Thanks you guys for your videos
discovered this channel by watching the switch with Kara and Nate
I have a very important question: Raya, where do you get all of your dresses?? XD
Amazing to hear 😊🙏❤🌻
MV rất hay, i like it 💗😳😞
I’m early hi :)
PLEASE GET TWO CORGI'S! they are my favorite dog breed.
I totally didn’t even know you guys had an age gap 😂😂
Are you guys excited to get married
Why Costa Rica 🇨🇷😕
