I think AEthiopians world-wide should read or rather watch this film and WEEP...read Isaiah I:2 and then REPENT. I-n-I Abba-Father told them at the end.. His governance system was feudalistic. The producer gives no much value to the right of nations to use their own language. This is no news provided hi is a proponent of his Majesty's imperial administration - highly centralized and the Ethiopian identity was framed around the identity of Amhara's or Amhara-Tigrian identities, denying all the rest. That's why the student revolution, the famous Land to the Tiler, was inevitable and the king could not save his throne. You fail to realize that just because people are more educated doesn't make them a better fit for power. For instance, Hitler was a very smart. I'm sure Mussolini wasn't too dumb himself. Intelligence doesn't prevent corruption of the heart and mind. Selassie was pure, incorruptible. Also, you stated, "he hold the power for 40 years with out any change". That's just silly. Selassie implemented many changes. Everyone's problem is he didn't do thing according to the time schedule everyone wanted or even to the degree that people would have liked. But he understood that these changes needed to happen slowly and not be a rushed. He understood drastic and sudden changes cause unrest amongst the people. He wished to implement changes slowly so the people could become used to the modernization and see that it was to benefit them and elevate they're civilization to the next level, so to speak. This is propoganda. Menelik II defeated the Italians and was a much better King then Selassie He fought with his men, organised one of the greatest military campaigns in history and did not run away. Menelik II defeated the Italians on his Own without European help, creating a state in the process. Selassie was last of his line in that respect we can compare him to Louis 14 of France, last of his line.

You fail to realize that just because people are more educated doesn't make them a better fit for power. For instance, Hitler was a very smart. I'm sure Mussolini wasn't too dumb himself. Intelligence doesn't prevent corruption of the heart and mind. Selassie was pure, incorruptible.
Also, you stated, "he hold the power for 40 years with out any change". That's just silly. Selassie implemented many changes. Everyone's problem is he didn't do thing according to the time schedule everyone wanted or even to the degree that people would have liked. But he understood that these changes needed to happen slowly and not be a rushed. He understood drastic and sudden changes cause unrest amongst the people. He wished to implement changes slowly so the people could become used to the modernization and see that it was to benefit them and elevate they're civilization to the next level, so to speak.

This is propoganda. Menelik II defeated the Italians and was a much better King then Selassie He fought with his men, organised one of the greatest military campaigns in history and did not run away. Menelik II defeated the Italians on his Own without European help, creating a state in the process.
Selassie was last of his line in that respect we can compare him to Louis 14 of France, last of his line.
Menelik II didn't have to combat aerial squadrons spreading poison gas with ill equipped troops.
