- Last year November I traveled to my home country of Liberia, West Africa. It was my first time returning since my arrival into the United States 21 years ago. I had little memory of this beautiful country besides the stories from my friends and family as well as the Internet. As I got older my curiosity grew into a strong desire to experience Liberia for myself. I set out on a journey of a lifetime that cannot be explained but experienced. My experience was so eventful that I decided to film a documentary showcasing the culture, people, and the Land of Liberty, Liberia. This is a short introduction to that documentary. Hope you enjoy but most of all I hope you are inspired.

Listening to you makes me to asked myself this question, How many of us , meaning, LIBERIAN ,that have lived and still living in these develope COUNTRIES and are yet to go HOME (LIBERIA ) to see what we are missing out on? We as LIBERIAN, should learn how to appreciate the wonderful COUNTRY that GOD has given us. By the way, i have been back home about so many times and infsct, i was there in JULY of 2017 to SEPTEMBER of 2017 . And i can't wait to go back and spend more time. So glad TH-cam recommended this to me! I came to the U.S as a refugee when I was 7 with my mom and sister. I was born in Liberia but my mother moved to Nigeria when I was 2 during the civil war. I've been thinking about going home for a couple of years now. I know my culture but I want to experience it for myself. Definitely gotta convince my mom to go with me.

There's no place like home. After 24 yrs i went home last year 2018, The feeling is amazing. I'm glad you love it and i hope you bought a land and lets rebuild back mama Liberia if you ever consider that idea.

Thanks, sister. You speak of what I feel. I have been in the states for 9year 3month and I miss home, I miss a place that I belong to. I look forward every day to returning home. Never taking anything for granted. Accepting the little that we have. "The bigger picture"

Thanks for sharing your experienced, as you were speaking I felt the positive energy deep down my heart and soul, factually knowing that there’s nowhere like home has prompted me my first visitation in 2014. I’m a Liberian who’s planning a second visit soon. God bless you for such level of understanding and as a young girl, who have seen and felt the positive aspects of the environment and for denouncing the negativity of how others perceived things in Africa.

Lulu I really liked your description of LIB and your outlook overall... but you took it too far saying ppl are healthy without medical resources. People are dying left and right, all the time, mama. I've lost 7 close relatives in Liberia within the past year and know of countless deaths strictly due to health reasons and medical inaccessibility...most of which can be easily treated. I really understand your excitement. I too went to Liberia from the states for the first time in 2006 after 17 years and went back subsequently several times since...I truly understand your feeling
When I say people are healthy, I mean in terms of not suffering from most of the health conditions that harm and kill most people in the western countries. Because most Liberian are not exposed to GMO, fast food their chance of getting type 2 diabetes and certain cancers are far less. I know many Liberians are dying due to curable conditions and diseases but that is due to lack of resources and knowledge. In America we have that and people still die and are far more unhealthy. The point I was really trying to make is even though we have so little yet we are blessed with the health so many people who have money would love to have. Not my intention to not acknowledge health issues in the country.
