I am using the scythe, doing like half the damage than the guy in the video and I died probably 50 times at this point, stopped few times to farm healing items and level up a bit, still not near as much damage than that guy. Game is fun, boss is fun, but fuck is it hard..
That is literally what happened to me best advice I can give is try to keep the red facing you as it’s attacks are easier to dodge also it’s parry animations are safer to abuse apart from that good luck
That boss was a bitch for me. Using a level 1 Scythe Glaive and the game wouldn't give me any healing elixir drops. So I would basically die in one hit and it took forever to actually kill him. Final fight that I successfully killed him he used the Dark Realm 7 times.
Debatable....I said it's probably their best work but they had good bosses. The boss or the woman in blue in a dojo it was my favorite boss...just dancing with each other....this boss is neck and neck tho . I never played dlc bosses so cant say anything on that. This boss is one of the best in gaming hands down.
i have platinumed Bloodborne and Nioh and also have finished Dark Souls 3, Demons Souls and Dark Souls remastered two times each, and Dark Souls 2 one time. but this game feels so difficult, even the common enemies in the first level... and this boss keeps kicking my ass... anyway i'm gonna buy this for the character creation system
Yeh dude I'm in the same boat as you are. Mind you I haven't touched a souls type game since sekiro first came out and even before that it was ages since I had touched DS3s DLC. So I went into the demos thinking oh yeh I'll get beat up a little but I'll be right back at it like I always am after a break, didn't happen at all 😂 this 2nd nioh really calls for using every tool you can at your disposal and seriously utilising burst counters and all the other little mechanics. I think between learning them, niohs upgrade system in general for end game gear, new guardians, the character customisation and being able to save it and change at will, the diversity of the enemies this time round and the new weapons and skill system...this game will be awesome. Plus it's always fun to see how stupid builds are end game and power creeping. Plus fashion souls :D Will definitely tide me over until Elden Ring comes out and oh boy am I fucking keen for that. God I hope it's good.
It's the power scaling mess. Getting destroyed in one or two hits no matter how much attack and defense you have. Nioh doesn't wants you to be progress for the sake of confusing people with it being "difficult". You take that out and give enemies reasonable amounts of attack and defense for the way the fight and look in size and appearance and you would be destroying people anywhere you go.
@@AratakiBullPowerSiddo1 isn't that the point of "masocore" games? Thing is, Nioh has a really high learning curve, also many people play it like a souls game and get destroyed (I used to be one of those).
@@yash7l48 kinda the other way around. Dark souls takes a lot of inspirations of japanese spirits and demons while nioh just takes the spirits and demons and just adds them as bosses. And yes the weasel who has blades for arms and legs is an acxual real yokai from japanese history.

It’s about a style of combat that it damn near perfected. If the game wasn’t engaging “At all” as you said, then it wouldn’t be as renowned and loved as much as it is. Sekiro cuts all the unnecessary fat and stays focused. Yes Dark souls and Nioh have “Builds”. However they don’t evolve the gameplay. Whether it’s a sword, or spear, or magic, you still roll and attack.

@@afiresalamander1633 I eventually beat it. The trick is to refrain from running in the dark yokai realm: manage your ki, keep at distance and play defensively. Still, I think the game is a bit too hard. Challenge is fine, but 90% of enemies one or two-shotting you is a bit too much.

@@evaristegalois1809 I had no issue with getting one shot, it just never happened. Getting 2 shot also only happened when I made a mistake, and even then it was rare. I was wearing light armor as well, so you may be exaggerating a bit. This game offers a pretty balanced challenge if you take the game one enemy/encounter at a time and strategically note your surroundings. It's all about memorizing move sets and enemy placements, once you do that, this game is pretty easy.

Don’t be afraid to take risks. Make sure to leave at least 1/3 of KI just in case the boss use any cheap moves. And use block. And prepare to block. Like all the time. There is no loss in using block.
@@tuantani8480 I know, but I forgot to unlock blocking skill with kusarigama, so it became almost impossible with that weapon, and I leveled just 6-7 times because I was bored by farming and I just wanted to try the game to have some fun. Instead I just found frustration . I had almost killed the bastard several times but he always got me in the last second. I am giving up, I won't buy this game now. I just platinumed Nioh, and I see no big difference. It will be nice, but hell it's so frustrating when enemies are SO overpowered. The first Nioh seemed easier for me. At least enemies could be taken on the back. This guy can't. My tactics was infact dodging under his 4 legs and try to hit him from "back" or at least sides, but he doesn't really has a back, does fast spinning attacks, can do multiple attacks simultaneously, like attacking with magic, arrows and spinning axes or sticks all at the same time, and honestly my character seems too handicapped and slow compared to him even with a 30% weight of the equipment(but here is partly my bad since I didn't farm). I spent all my few abilities on kusarigama since I don't like katana or long rage weapons, I don't know if it's easier with spear, maybe yes. I'll try when price gets much lower, for now I don't have 70 bucks to spend for a game whose demo is already frustrating and requires so much time of dedication.
@John Bennett lot of differences? For me there are few differences. I liked the armony of the enemies soul and yes, enemies design is a little better (it was good already in the first, even if enemies types were few, and from what I saw in review videos seems that a lot of old yokais have been also recycled, but we'll see) . I LOVED the editing of the character. There are new four weapons, and selecting buttons are a little more comfortable. I liked the yokai transformation. Besides that, I really can't see any technical improving. Gameplay is pratically the same, so are graphics and animations. Character even seems much slower than William, who could be damn fast even against giant enemies (and that's why I loved the first Nioh, because character was handicapped only if you used heavy armor) . I can't judge level design yet, but it seems a little better. But I repeat, the difference with Nioh is little, and for me it doesn't justify a day one buying. I wanted to try the game and enjoy, not spending a day of farming against a ultra overpowered enemy (which I almost killed even without ultra farming but this time Team Ninja got me). I retire for now, a samurai who platinumed Nioh knows when to run away to fight another day. For now I have too many games to play still and I can't find time for them. It's not for me the period to play games which have super overpowered enemies honestly. For me Nioh 2 can wait, but of course I respect who will buy it, game is interesting

Counter burst is the best strategy for this boss also he’s ice type attacks are a pain in the ass

my experience from souls games taught me to attack from behind for every boss fight.. until this double front whatsoever stupid boss came.
A lot of bosses in soulsborne series obliterate you if you attack from behind especially dlc bosses

Yes there is, there is even multiple types of parries. You have to unlock the skills for them first though.

Nioh 2 is all about ki management, yours and the enemy and mastering the timing for the counters. Once you get that right the game is rather easy.
ngl that intro cutscene didn't feel like Nioh to me, it didn't have the build up that each boss in Nioh 1 had

I wanted to try the game and enjoy, not spending a day of farming against a ultra overpowered enemy (which I almost killed even without ultra farming but this time Team Ninja got me). I retire for now, a samurai who platinumed Nioh knows when to run away to fight another day. For now I have too many games to play still and I can't find time for them. It's not for me the period to play games which have super overpowered enemies honestly. For me Nioh 2 can wait, but of course I respect who will buy it, game is interesting

I agree 100% I had the most fun with them over any of the souls games.
This doesn't really look as polished as bloodborne
Bloodborne is my favorite of all time, but i just finished the Nioh 1 DLC and its now in my top 3 games i love it so much.

@@thinhle96 Lol I have Plat on BB and polished or smooth aren't exactly words I'd use to describe that game. 9/10 game but nowhere near as fast or smooth as Nioh is.
