Pea and dad in the wild. Love it! I started fishing at a very young age. My dad worked for Shell Oil west of Sabine Pass, TX. Apparently the only national fishing regulations are related to commercial fishing. Some barangays may issue/require permits but nobody is actually using them or cares, and there is nobody tasked with enforcing it. There are a handful of fishing charters available and some great fishing is possible for large species like tuna. My biggest concern if going offshore in a boat is they don't really have the coast guard monitoring emergency radio channels like in USA. She's natural and fun to watch her reaction when she catches her first fish. Love to watch more of your fishing experience. You explain everything perfectly. Awesome!❤😊
Those handlines are really effective fishing gear. Years ago, some military buddies and I hired a fishing charter on Okinawa, Japan. We brought our Filipino fathers-in-law with us, and they fished with handlines while we Americans had our fancy fishing rods. The fathers-in-law made us look like amateurs. I taught Tatay to fish with a rod and reel, and he and I used to fish for dorado off this cliff on Okinawa. He got the hang of it pretty quick and brought in a nice, big cuttlefish. Since our Philippines house is only about 1 hour from Lake Taal, I'd love to fish the lake for tilapia or bangus. Unfortunately, researching Philippines sport fishing rules isn't very easy. I'm not even sure I can find a sportfishing charter on the lake. Oh, my wife calls grouper lapu lapu. She calls red snapper maya maya.
Handlines just like these are used on the East side of Baja California to catch bait for for the sport fishing boats from the resorts. At times, the bait fish are HUNDREDS of feet deep.
As someone the love fishing, was this episode a great treat for me. And fishing is something I aim to do a LOT of when I stay/live in the Philippines less than 3 years from now. I really would love to give your father some fishing gear and teach him how to use it, if I ever get the chance to do so, Pea. I am totally sure it would help him catch some more fish. He has the local knowledge and I have learned a few tricks having fished many places in the world over more than 50 years, including in the Philippines and have been able to get the access to and afford to buy and test many more lures, hooks and fishing methods than your dad has. Sadly it is very unlikely that your dad and I will meet and fish together, but it would be extremely fun if it happened.
Nice to spend time with your Father Pea ! It’s nice of you to spend that time with your father and hopefully you can have a nice day and many more and thank you you❤

I think u should stick to ur job Pea and leave the fishing to your dad lol. Nothing better than seeing a father spending time with and supporting his little girl. Makes me remember all the things I have done with my baby girl. She’s only about 6 years younger than u Pea. I need to check up on her and if nothing else just remind her that I love her and miss her every single day. Thanks dad for sharing your world with us. Also thank God he caught the bigger one because if Pea is anything like my daughter, he would never hear the end of that time when she caught the bigger fish than the professional lol.

Pea this Video has my heart. I Love Fishing. I love going out on the water at about 7 AM and a lot of times I would not come home till 9 PM. I even pack a meal so I don't have to go on land other then to go to the bathroom and most times I would just stand up on the boat and pee. I started fishing at the age of 8 and by the time I was 9 I was off fishing on my own. On the weekends I would get up at 6 AM and make something to eat and my Mom would hear me and ask wth am I doing. I would tell her I am going fishing. She would tell me No I am not and my Dad would get up and ask what is going on. Mom would say he thinks he is going fishing. Dad would smile and say bring something good home son. Mom was like what you are letting him go fishing? Dad would say If the boy wishes to go fishing let him go he isn't hurting anything and he is out of the way and with luck he will bring something home to eat. Some times my dad would drive by to see if he sees me and ask if I caught anything. A few times I would show him I already had a couple five gallon buckets full. He would say ok I will take care of the fish for you. Then he will ask do you want to come home now or stay fishing. I would always say stay fishing. Even when the weather was bad I wanted to go fishing.
@@TheFilipinaPea As a child I could only go fishing when school was out or we had a vacation and then when I was working it was only when I had days off and again on vacation. So I would go fishing every chance I had even Ice fishing in the winter.
The first thing that comes to mind is why you haven't got Dad an engine for his boat to save him from paddling-maybe an electric one. Then he doesn't have to pay for fuel, and he can charge the battery at night. That looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Or, maybe he doesn't need a outboard. Do you know if using an engine on the boat changes fishing license rates? And not everyone WANTS 1 more problem. Where did you see them struggling for lack of an engine? And then you need a battery, battery charger, additional solar panels, a backup generator to charge the battery, an additional battery because he is fishing (with your electric motor and battery) during the daytime, and solar doesn't work that well at night to recharge the boat battery for tomorrow. And on and on. There is a reason so many people choose sailboats instead of motorboats.
Does your Father have to gag you to stop talking so the fish aren't scared away? LOL. My Filipina isn't allowed to fish with her brother because she won't stop talking. It's actually funny.

The boat looks uncomfortable and prone to rolling. I'd definitely not want to be out too far from shore in it. I like tge fishy feet technique vs a live well. Yes, they are small, but 4 or 5 of those would make a very nice meal. Tyvm for sharing this clip Pea. It's nice seeing your dad and learning about coastal fishing there. I told my lady a mobth ago that I'D take her fushing but first teachvher to swim. :) She's afraid of sunny skin, so maybe we'll go fishing at midnight?

Your father is absolutely adorable... definitely giving off the proud papa vibes, but of course, how couldn't he be 🥰🥰
He’s so stoic, it can be hard to tell 😆
Grandpapa vibes?
😉😉
Awesome video a nice day with dad 🙏❤️😘
That’s Brett! It was nice to get back to my roots 👍❤️
That was fun. Do more life experiences
She's natural and fun to watch her reaction when she catches her first fish. Love to watch more of your fishing experience. You explain everything perfectly. Awesome!❤😊
🫛 you've made some awesome videos before but this is my all time favorite.. dad and his sweet pea 🎉🎉
Sweet Pea- why does that have a certain ring to it, and so apropos! Oh! It is ANCIENT from Popeye the Sailor Man, name for Olive Oyl lady!
There is nothing more beautiful and loving, in life, that a lovely daughter helping her Papa 😘❤️
And scaring away his fish ❤️😆
@ Never! You cannot possibly scare anyone with your devastating smile ! To the contrary, you attracted them! You attract everyone else … ❤️
I LOVE this video!! Thank you, Pea!!
Bogie!!! Glad you made it here 👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the generous tip, Daniel!
That’s awesome 👍
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you ever meet him, you sure could try! I haven’t had any luck tempting him with a rod and reel 😢
Is there room to pass another boat going other direction?
I bet she's good at this too.
...and always let the ads play
Never doubt the Pea! And it looks like you got a silver medal 🥈❤️
Nice to spend time with your Father Pea ! It’s nice of you to spend that time with your father and hopefully you can have a nice day and many more and thank you you❤
He’s my favorite fishing buddy! 😊❤️
Nice going Pea, good to see this side of your life. Papa would have enjoyed the time with you.
Another wonderful video. Your amazing.
Hi Filipina Pea. Great to spend time with your Papa. My Filipina wife and I just got home to America from the Philippines. I love her family. And yes we do help them. But it’s not much. They are totally worth it. Brigida and I have a 17 year age gap. We are very close and have a powerful love.
Take care Pea. Keep the good videos coming.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
This looks fun!
It sure was 👍👍👍❤️
I think u should stick to ur job Pea and leave the fishing to your dad lol.
Pea this is my absolute favorite video of you. The respect and love you show for your father speaks volumes . Now that I know you can fish, you really are the perfect woman. Maybe the Philippines will be my next fly fishing destination. 😊
As the (sometimes) patient Hubby of a Social media obsessed Filipina, I just want to recognise the awesome and under-appreciated work of the camera person. Often forgotten but not by me! Respect to you videographer of @TheFilipinaPea.
You're the best kind of fisher. Look at all these people's attention you caught !!! HI PEA !!!
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆👍
Video of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I wish others shared your enthusiasm 😆❤️👍
Thanks!
Hi Pea … yeah I’m not a fisherman. I don’t even like to put a worm on the hook, but I do like to go to the store to get my fish or eat in a restaurant like you. I feel the same way now if I had to fish to feed my family that would be different. I would do it, but I’ve got enough money to just go to a restaurant lol it was nice to see you and your father together fishing having father daughter time. Love you Pea😊
I agree - I’d rather eat it than kill it 👍😊
Beautiful, this was a treat. I enjoyed watching you and your father spending time together.
This was a blast to watch! 😄 Your excitement is contagious and I was smiling so much that my face started to ache! 🤣
Dad is never inviting you back! Too much talkie talkie🤣
And squawkie squawkie!
Please do more videos like this please.
I’d LOVE to, but the truth is, it depends on whether people watch this video or not 🙏
@@TheFilipinaPea3600+ views in first hour. Pretty sure you got this.😉👍🏽🌹
@@GaryLocke-z1p i watched it twice just to make sure. 😆
@@sillyzoe4473😂😂 Sweet.
Florida has grouper. You can buy delicious grouper sandwiches in Florida.
😍😋🥰
Florida is a overpriced shithole, I just moved from Jacksonville to Panabo in June, best thing I have done
@George-ux6zz florida also has high prices, on food, property insurance, property taxes, gas, and some stupidest, worst drivers anywhere , just to name a few of the things that is wrong with Florida and America!
Oh ms PEA
getting to see the country girl in her hometown showing her true colors
That's why I keep watching your videos.
And I think it would take a lot to make you grumpy!!
Thank you for sharing
Enjoy your time in leyte.
I appreciate that, and it’s nice to be back home sometimes 😊
Great vlog, Pea. I really enjoyed the scenery and being one with nature. Only taking what you need is a lesson all people should adhere to. Pea, you’re a survivalist! From zombie apocalypse to fishing with basic tools; if most women in the Philippines possess similar abilities then I will be happy to have one in my corner. 😊 Looking forward to your next video. 👍
Any alligators / crocodiles? Cool video!
@@TheKokanut
They’re more on the western side of the country 👍
❤❤❤ the amazing and beautiful Pea ❤❤❤
I caught something special today - your eyes in my video 😆
Can use some fish that are not very tasty for fertilizer too.
I've been watching Pea for quite awhile. I think this is one of my favorite videos of all. I hope we get to see Dad some more!
Finally!!! 🎉❤️
Poor daddy Bronson got a crazy daughter that can't fish... 😆
Auntie, can you do another episode on making big AZZ bamboo canons?
Fishing is so exciting the way you do it! 😂
Thanks for taking us along on this adventure...
This is a way of life for Minnesota, where I grew up...
Good to know I'll be able to enjoy once there permanently...
👍😎👍
Oh yes, foreigner can fish too! Enjoy ❤️
This is so cool! More like this please.
Just to be clear Pea, I loved this video idea!
Oh my gosh, you only came home long enough to sleep! 😳😆👍
That man’s body is the engine. And he’ll probably live to see more years with his family.
@@goatman3828: Damn man! You sure did throw a blanket over my parade. 🤒
Does your Father have to gag you to stop talking so the fish aren't scared away? LOL. My Filipina isn't allowed to fish with her brother because she won't stop talking. It's actually funny.
I wonder how many we would’ve caught if I’d stayed quiet? 😳🤔😆
It's been a while since I've seen a girl get as excited to catch fish as you were. That was alot of fun to watch! Thanks for the video 😊
I really enjoyed watching you and your dad fishing. I was all smiles when you hooked a fish . Thank you Pea for sharing your experience.
Todays special vidoe ,, pea catching some fish ,,,, pea let us knowbif you find ariel the little mermaid , captain sparrow with pirate pea. Dont fprget to mark your treasure in the map pea 🤣
I think I did see Pirate Pea near the end of the video 😆
Pea, you continue to amaze. The breadth of your life experience and knowledge of different lifestyles and cultures is ever more impressive.
Love this episode pea, please keep the family stuff coming ❤
I’ll have to move them to my island then 😆😆
Pea, that was SO special! We will all savor this memory with you. I loved the precursor river trip! You are definitely the best catch of my day!
More like this please. We get to see the real rural Philippines!
I love this channel even though I will never be able to make it to the Philippines. :(
Your energy is contagious, keep up the great work!
Then I’m doubly flattered that you watch 😉❤️
Hi Pea .. nice to see another part of your life Pea. So amusing to see you out fishing with Papi. Brings back memories of when I was a kid out fishing with my dad many years ago. You had me laughing with your reactions to the catches. Who needed to relax more .. you or the fish… hahaha 😂😂😂
Great video pea spending the day with your dad I'd love to go fishing with him !
This was dope 🔥🔥🔥 I couldn’t stop watching ❤
Nice to see you posting video's sharing time with your family. Fishing is one of my favorite hobbies and the memories I shared fishing with my family
Thanks for this wonderful perspective into your dad's life. I wish I had more such souvenirs of my own dad working his trade. One of your best video so far. Really awesome when you share with us stories of Filipinos.
This is my favorite Pea video. I have been fishing all my life, USA.
Pea, this is a fun video, I love the content you provide. You make the Philippines look very inviting, but also show the good and bad .... Thank you!!
Great job and good balance Pea !! Climbing coconut trees , fishing , good sense of humor, online star and a great pair of legs …. You can do anything 😆
OMG Pea, you are so girly, it's sweet and hilarious lol. I have to travel there to take you fishing! You reactions are priceless!
She's afraid of sunny skin, so maybe we'll go fishing at midnight?
This is golden, I wish I spent more quality time like this with my Father.
