This made my day. I had a house built about 2 years ago in Biliran and plan on retiring in the Philippines in a couple more years and do a lot of offshore fishing. I don't know what tomorrow may bring but that's my plan today.
Where in Biliran? I've been to Biliran in Mapuyo, the town after Kawayan, I've been to a lot of beaches specifically in Leyte and Cebu but the best beach ever was in Mapuyo Biliran, it had no cottages, undeveloped and the seafloor was made of stones, the water was super clear and the beach was a rocky place, I always wonder how it looks now, I went there way back in the 90s , I'm currently in Cebu and the beaches here are nice, but that one secret beach in Biliran is still number 1 in my heart
Glad you did go to the Philippines and had a great time catching all kinds of species of fish! Welcome to the Philippines! Now living in Florida. Take care, I had a great time watching your video.
Great to see the slow pitch jigging working in the Philippines. I will be retiring there and fishing a lot. I have all the gear ready to go. Thanks for the video

It’s the way they cook the Bonita in the Philippines. I use to live their Nate. I caught a Bonita here in Jacksonville. My wife is from the P.I. She prepared it and it was incredible. Bleed them out!
Nate amazing adventure you had - I visited the Philippines when I was in the military and I still remember that deep blue calm water - I didn’t fish and almost scuba dived but the thought of diving in deep waters was just as uncomfortable as you attempting to eat that Bonita soup - never heard of Dubai fishing but have heard a lot about Costa Rica fishing-tight lines- respectfully PuraSal Angler 🙌🏻
I grew up in Philippines and now here in Florida loving fishing, man I can’t wait to fish back home, thank you sir and I enjoy your videos, subscribed.
The joy in your eyes is priceless. Bro this is my dream when i retire. Just fishing everyday in the middle of the ocean. Except of course when the weather won't allow it. LOL. pretty soon. pretty soon. Cant wait.
Congratulation Sir, fish on!!! 🎣🐟🎣🐠🎣🐟you caught amazing fishes in our country's sea in Palawan. Thank you in visiting our country and hoping you will visit again!😊😊😊❤❤❤👍👍👍
I think its called tulingan? And i google it says that Tulingan is a type of bonito fish that is high in omega-3 and acids. It has a deeply forked tail, vertical stripes on its back, and a small, velvety scale. Tulingan is commonly found in tropical and temperate seas, where it swims in schools across the ocean. You really do have to bleed them first best way is to cut out one gill and let them swim in the bait tank. Pumps the blood out and lightens the flesh considerably.
The charter provided all of the gear. All I had to do was show up and fish! Highly recommend booking a trip with Palawan Fishing Buddy, amazing experience!!
I love Bonita, but you have to eat it fresh and bleed it but my most favorite way to eat Bonita is smoked and you have to do that on one of your shows catch and eat smoke Bonita. I think that would be an awesome show.
I know the feeling of catching fish that you have not "unlocked" and it is pure joy and excitement. Amazing catch, hoping to do the same in the Philippines. May I know the brand and model of that rod? That is a mighty strong thin rod.
since the Philippines is composed of many islands, hope you come back here in the Philippines sir and try some other islands to fish especially in the Visayas or Mindanao Regions. for Luzon, try the extreme north ❤ Palawan is just a small tip on the Philippine iceberg 😂 great fishing video and thanks for making our country your first overseas fishing destination!
i'm from philippines, and honestly fish from different regions also taste different. in my opinion, fish from mindanao taste sweeter and less gamy than caught in luzon

Got here about 6 years ago. Travel and fishing are awesome here in the Philippines. Those Jigpoy lures are incredible. I swear those are the only ones that work for me. Glad you enjoyed and when i visit family in Alabama, I'll have to do some fishing there too.
Awesome video, Nate! It was nice meeting you and Kyle! Let me know if you need some Jigpoy lures/jigs, and I'll send you some. I hope to see you again on your next jigging adventure here in the Philippines.
I enjoyed the video. It was something different from you and I got to see a little more of your personality. I know there is some great fishing in Costa Rica and I think you would really like the fishing experience there. 👍
That bonito you caught actually looks like a eastern little tuna or kawa kawa, different than the other bonita species like oceanic bonita (skipjack tuna) and atlantic bonito. Ive eaten them all, nothing wrong with them if bleed and prepared correctly
I would be bringing an electric deep drop rig as I am old and can no way reel up those fish from the depths. Spent time in the PI when I was in the Navy. Crystal clear water.
Awesome trip man! Awesome vids. Can’t believe the fish were catching your jigs in the way down. I would have made sashimi on that ruby snapper right there, and crack a San Miguel. Dubai! Keep it coming 🤙🏾
Love this video! Nothing compares chowing down cooked fresh fish with rice, boiled, grilled, kinilaw, man that's so yummy, out of the boat in the ocean, having a good time to even more fishing afterwards, with good friends along the fun experience. Man, I envy you! JJ is cool full of smiles, awesome great company. Deep blue water ocean is perfect color to be surrounded with all of this wonderful time! Subbed! Watching you from Southern California. Mouth's watering from all those fish you're eating, reminds me when I was in the Philippines. Grew up part of my life close to the ocean, so I can relate. Thank you for this video. 🙂
Thank you for visiting & fishing in our beloved county Philippines islands of smiles. 250-300+ meters glad you didnt hookup to a thresher it'll take another 150-200m of line that would be an insane workout for you brother 😅 hope you enjoyed your stay & wish you could visit again 💪fish be with yawll

Thats skipjack tuna. Best choice for a tuna because of its low mercury levels compared to Yellowfin and Albacore.

I thought so too but JJ said AJ so I went with it. Probably a language barrier for species translation. Ruby’s are very close to the Queens.
