This is a really nice spot, shots, great music and two nice people commenting with excitement on what they observe. Just an addendum: it mentions the start of operation in 1935, but apart from the first or the first two of stations on the black and white footage (third was probably 2nd Kiyevskaya st. from 1953 ) , there is not a single station on the footage that was commissioned in 1935. The oldest station in the color pictures is Ploshchad Revolyucii (with statues in the niches of the pillars), opened in March 1938.
Yes, there is. Even more, I used it almost every day for 15 years I lived there, no single instance of cancelled line or delays that impacted my journey. From the place where I lived to the place of work (centre) was 24min +/- 3min precisely. And it run until 1am every day. At night 3min between trains, during rush hour - 30sec as it carries 12m (maybe more) now, if delay is bigger it creates overcrowding which became a problem in the recent years. However, in the last 3 years more lines and a 2nd big circle are now built, approx. 35 new stations are added.

@precariousworlds3029 how come you don't bring up any of European wars or Americans wars that were unjustified and killed tenths of millions of people? Why you pretending all those countries ain't got no blood on their hands? Did the US pay off their debts to countries they bombed and destroyed like Iraq, Vietnam, or Laos?

But still we don’t have as many homeless (and none - in the metro) as you do. No graffiti, gun crime or narcotics. Most people in Moscow (I lived there) have better living conditions (more spacious rooms and good quality construction) than in the West. They don’t have as much debts as mortgages like in the West (they tend to pay for property within 5-10years). Quality of food (variety, taste) is better (have you noticed we don’t have obese people?). The education is free and the best which allowed me personally reach high level of my profession, even by West standards. I doubt I had the same if I was born in the West. I came to work in West in my early twenties with 0 debt, though I know many westerners are burden with Uni debt and mortgages for the rest of the lives. Few years ago it was viral video of somebody taken in Moscow metro showing passengers were reading books (5-6 people around the author of the video). Streets are spotless and clean, in winter we don’t have problems with snow impacting transport system even if it’s too much. Children have access to nearly free extracurricular after school activities which are subsidised by the state (access to top tutors and several days a week for piano, sports. I calculated that to have a similar training regime for ice-skating would cost you $10k/month). Soviet Union built by people and FOR PEOPLE which I cannot say the same about the West.
