Sir why it is greater near the poles and less at equator
The earth is not circular it is oval(ellipsoid) shaped, the distance of pole from the center of Earth is less than the distance of equator from the center of Earth(difference is only 23 km). And value of g is inversely proportional to the distance from center. So g is greater at pole.
